PLEASE READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION BELOW. IT WILL ANSWER ALL YOUR QUESTIONS. If you still have questions after, we are happy to respond through email. It is a long read and a long adoption process. Please understand we are ensuring that our babies go to great homes and we don't know you personally (yet). Understand that this is an adoption of a beautiful little soul that deserves the absolute best life. The average lifespan of a cat is 13 to 20 years. Some cats even live into their thirties, although this is far less common. So don't let that discourage you from adopting an adult cat! VANESSA FISK has had a rough life. We believe someone dumped her in our area. She found herself to our outdoor colony. We found her in our front lawn, attacked by some kind of animal. We rushed her to the vet. She has a huge scar under her fur. You cant see it at all. Meet VANESSA FISK, a beautiful six-year-old DSH Calico mix from Hemet, California, whose essence is gentle resilience wrapped in a striking coat of white, orange, and black. VANESSA FISK is a large, shy, and timid cat who has faced some challenges in her past, but she’s ready to find a loving and patient family who can help her continue to heal and blossom. VANESSA FISK is an independent soul who finds comfort in the quiet companionship of other cats. Having lived peacefully with fellow felines, she would thrive in a home with another calm and understanding cat to keep her company. Her experiences have made her a bit wary of new environments, so she’ll need a pet parent who can offer her the gentle encouragement she needs to feel safe and secure. While Vanessa hasn’t had much experience with dogs or young children, her timid nature suggests that she would do best in a calm, dog-free home where she can gradually build her confidence at her own pace. A quiet environment with adults or older children who can respect her boundaries would be ideal for this sweet girl. Vanessa’s beautiful calico markings are matched by her soft, soulful eyes that tell the story of a cat who’s ready to embrace the kindness and comfort of a loving home. With time, patience, and plenty of love, Vanessa is sure to show her new fa family just how much affection she has to give. If you’re looking for a gentle companion who will appreciate your care and offer quiet companionship in return, VANESSA FISK could be the perfect addition to your family. Are you ready to give this shy but loving cat the home she needs? VANESSA FISK is DOMESTIC SHORT HAIR / CALICO MIX. She is about 6 years and 7 months old and is good with cats. She has never been around dogs or young children. We don't think she will do well with dogs. The vet thinks a coyote or loose dog attacked her. VANESSA FISK is currently at our rescue in Hemet, California. ADOPTION PROCESS: 1. Go to Workinwhiskers.com (Click on ADOPT) 2. Fill Out Online Form 3. Submit Online Application 4. It is a long read and a long adoption process. Please understand we are ensuring that our babies go to great homes, and we don't know you personally (yet). Understand that this is an adoption of a beautiful little soul that deserves the absolute best life. The average lifespan of a cat is 13 to 20 years. Some cats even live into their thirties, although this is far less common. So don't let that discourage you from adopting an adult cat! Rescue mama has had 3 live into their 20's. One was 8 weeks old. ESTRELLADO was saved by an independent rescuer back in late 2017. He was a tiny kitten. Well fast forward to over a year ago, the lady was killed by a drunk driver. We were asked to help with her rescues and to our dismay, her house was a horrific hoarding case. We pulled 55 cats that were still alive. Our rescue took 26 of those cats into out rescue. ESTRELLADO is the second one to be ready for adoption. Meet ESTRELLADO, a charming seven-year-old tuxedo cat with a heart full of love, who’s ready to find his new forever home! Rescued from a challenging hoarding situation, this sweet boy has blossomed into a delightful companion, eager to share his life with kind-hearted humans. ESTRELLADO is a true lap cat, always looking for a cozy spot to curl up and snuggle with his favorite people. His striking black and white coat is as captivating as his personality, and he carries an undeniable charm that instantly warms the hearts of everyone he meets. Despite his rough beginnings, he exudes a joyful spirit and is always ready to show affection with gentle purrs and soft head nudges. Playful at heart, ESTRELLADO loves to engage in fun activities, especially when there’s a cat tree involved! He enjoys climbing, perching, and observing the world from above, all while keeping an eye out for playful antics with his fellow feline friends. While he gets along well with most cats, his friendly disposition makes him adaptable and open to new friendships. Having lived with dogs before, ESTRELLADO is comfortable sharing his space with canine companions, showcasing his easygoing nature. His love for canned food is an added bonus—he’s always ready to join you in the kitchen for a tasty treat! With a loving personality that shines through in everything he does, ESTRELLADO is eager to be a part of a caring family. He’s looking for a home where he can continue to feel safe and cherished, and in return, he promises to fill your days with warmth and joy. Are you ready to welcome ESTRELLADO into your heart and home? This sweet tuxedo boy is ready to share his love and companionship with you. If you think you can provide a cozy lap and a happy home for ESTRELLADO, please visit our website to apply. What adventures will you and ESTRELLADO embark on together? ESTRELLADO is a DOMESTIC SHORT HAIR / TUXEDO MIX. He is 8 years 0 months old. He has lived with cats but needs proper introduction. We think he would do better with a cat-friendly dog. He has lived with dogs. He has never been around children. ESTRELLADO is currently at our rescue in Hemet, California. ADOPTION PROCESS: 1. Go to Workinwhiskers.com (Click on ADOPT) 2. TUKTIREY and her 2 siblings (TONOWARI - TSIREYA) were part of a TNR effort in Riverside, California. Our photographer TNRed all the adult cats and rescued kittens. We were asked to help and they went with one of our fosters. TUKTIREY is now ready for her "FUREVER" home. TUKTIREY is now ready for her "FUREVER" home. A calico cat is a domestic cat of any breed with a tri-color coat. The calico cat is most commonly thought of as being 25% to 75% white with large orange and black patches, however, they may have other colors in their patterns. Sometimes a variation occurs with cream and grey patches that is called a muted calico. We did name all the kittens after the new movie Avatar: The Way of Water. Meet TUKTIREY, a shy but sweet two-year-old muted calico from Riverside, California, whose gentle presence is a serene delight wrapped in a beautiful, soft blend of pastel fur. TUKTIREY, with her gentle green eyes and delicate demeanor, is the kind of companion who will quietly steal your heart. Her muted calico coat, a harmonious mix of soft grays, creams, and whispers of orange, reflects her calm and peaceful personality. TUKTIREY may be a bit reserved at first, but beneath that shy exterior lies a tender heart ready to connect. She’s the type of cat who thrives in a quiet, loving environment where she can slowly unfurl her true self. Patience is key with this gentle girl, and once she feels secure, she’ll reward her new pet companion with soft purrs and a loyal presence that can turn any house into a home. While she may start off a little cautious, TUKTIREY enjoys the company of other cats and is more than okay with pets. In fact, she’s at her best when surrounded by feline friends who bring out her playful side. Whether it’s a feather toy or a cozy nap in the sun, TUKTIREY’s gentle playfulness is a joy to behold. She gets along well with other cats, making her an excellent addition to a multi-cat household where she can feel part of a close-knit community. This sweet girl would love a family who appreciates her quiet charm and is willing to give her the time she needs to blossom. TUKTIREY is also comfortable with other pets, making her a versatile companion for a caring household looking to add a touch of tranquility to their lives. Are you ready to offer TUKTIREY the caring environment she needs to shine? This lovely muted calico is waiting for a pet parent who understands the beauty of a gentle heart and is ready to embark on a lifelong journey of quiet companionship and mutual affection. Could TUKTIREY be the sweet, serene presence your home is missing? TUKTIREY is DOMESTIC SHORT HAIR / MUTED CALICO MIX with the most beautiful yellow eyes. She is about 2 years 1 month old. DR TEMPERANCE "BONES" BRENNAN and 10 other cats were dumped in the Home Depot parking lot in Hawthorne, California. Our trapper friend was notified and she started trapping them. She took her because she was emaciated. Eyes were sunk in and a bad URI. She had a litter somewhere and she was too sick to release back. Because she was in such bad shape, we think the kittens all died. We helped her with 4 cats. And will hopefully help her with any of the rest of the cats. We named them after the show BONES. The rescue mama was watching that show at the time. DR TEMPERANCE "BONES" BRENNAN, a feisty Turkish Van from Hawthorne, California whose striking white coat is as bold and brilliant as her larger-than-life personality. Bones, as her friends call her (and yes, she absolutely expects to be your friend—eventually), is the kind of cat who marches to the beat of her own pawsteps. She's got sass, class, and a touch of mystery—true to her namesake. With a mind as sharp as her claws during playtime, she keeps things interesting with her signature blend of charm and strong opinions. She’s playful, intelligent, and never one to turn down a good game of chase-the-feather or laser-pointer espionage. This confident lady knows what she likes—and she’s not afraid to let you know. Her preference? A quiet kingdom where she's the reigning queen. While she’s full of personality and has a soft spot for her favorite humans, she prefers not to share her domain with other cats. She’s a solo act, and honestly, she rocks it. Turkish Vans are known for their athleticism, playful spirit, and love of high perches, and Bones is no exception. She’s curious and clever, always eager to investigate new spaces or watch the world go by from a windowsill throne. Just be ready to give her a little space on her terms—she’s not one for constant snuggles, but when she warms up, her affection is genuine and full of trust. DR TEMPERANCE "BONES" BRENNAN thrives in a calm environment with a patient and loving caregiver who appreciates her independent streak and can match her clever energy with enrichment and play. She’d be a great fit for someone who values personality and a touch of drama in their feline companion—because with Bones, life is anything but boring. Could your home be the mystery-filled adventure this bold beauty needs? If you're ready for a one-of-a-kind cat with a sharp mind and an even sharper sense of humor, DR TEMPERANCE "BONES" BRENNAN might just be your perfect match. DR TEMPERANCE "BONES" BRENNAN is a DOMESTIC SHORT HAIR / SIAMESE MIX. She is about 3 years and 5 months old. She has lived with cats, but would do better by herself.
