Story
Azul is a sweet but shy buff-and-white neutered male. He may take a few moments to warm up, but once he does, he’ll creep closer and closer until his playful side shines through. Azul lives with other cats, though he can get a little jealous if they’re stealing the spotlight. He has a big love for food and is looking for a patient, caring family who will give him the attention (and treats!) he deserves. 🐾💛

Story
Waffles – The Midnight Gentleman Who’s Still Deciding If Humans Are Worth the Hype Waffles is a sleek, shiny 1-year-old black domestic shorthair with the glossiest coat you’ve ever seen and huge golden eyes that watch the world like he’s taking mental notes for a future memoir. He’s not scared; he’s just… thoughtfully reserved. Think of him as the quiet new neighbor who nods politely from the porch but hasn’t accepted the block-party invite yet. Right now, Waffles is in the “observation phase” of making friends. He’ll happily crunch his breakfast while you sit in the room (progress!), but if you make any sudden moves or look too eager, he melts back into his favorite cubby like a velvet shadow. That’s okay. Waffles moves at the speed of trust, and every day he spends a few more seconds studying you before disappearing. Touch? Not on the menu yet. Hands are still filed under “suspicious objects,” but his body language is soft—no hissing, no swatting, just a calm “I’ll let you know when I’m ready.” When that day comes (and it will, for the right patient person), we suspect Waffles is going to be one of those cats who goes from zero to lap velcro overnight. Play is still private, snacks are supervised, and laser pointers are viewed from a safe distance with cautious interest. We haven’t tested him with other cats yet because he’s still settling in, but his relaxed demeanor suggests he’ll either enjoy a quiet feline roommate or be perfectly content ruling the kingdom solo. Waffles is looking for a calm, adult-only home with no pressure and plenty of hiding spots that can slowly become lounging spots. He needs someone who speaks fluent slow-blink, who’s happy to let love grow at a whisper instead of a shout, and who understands that the best friendships sometimes start with just sharing Visitors to the shelter are by appointment only and after a form has been submitted online:  https://www.marshmallowfoundation.org/forms/  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 30, 2026, 10:57 am

Story
Queenie – The Regal Little Panther Who Knows Exactly Who She Is Queenie is a stunning beauty with a coat that drinks in the light and the calmest, most self-possessed energy you’ll ever meet in a cat. She doesn’t demand the throne; she simply walks in, sits down, and everyone quietly agrees the throne was waiting for her all along. She’s playful on her own terms: a surprise pounce on a crinkle ball, a graceful leap after a feather wand, then a dignified “I meant to do that” tail swish when she’s done. No frantic zoomies here—just elegant bursts of athleticism followed by a serene wash on the nearest sunbeam. Petting? An honor she grants readily. Queenie greets trusted hands with slow blinks and a low, rolling purr that sounds like distant thunder. Stroke her cheeks and she’ll tilt her head so you get the perfect angle. She’s one of those rare cats who enjoys being admired from every side. Picking her up? Yes, and she actually relaxes into it. She’ll settle against your chest, one paw lightly resting on your shoulder like she’s overseeing her new kingdom from the highest vantage point. No stiffness, no protest—just quiet trust. Queenie currently shares her suite with handsome Armani and the two get along beautifully (polite grooming, side-by-side napping, zero drama), but she’s also curious about the other cats she hears through the doors. She’s the type who adapts easily and would be equally happy as your one-and-only princess or as a gracious addition to a multi-cat household. If you’re looking for a cat who combines soft affection with quiet confidence—who will accept your worship without ever being demanding—Queenie is ready to claim her forever castle. All she asks is a sunny windowsill, a few well-chosen toys, and a human worthy of her gentle head boops. Come meet Queenie. Royalty has arrived, and she’s choosing her new court. Story
Cala – The Goofy Brown-Tabby Love Sponge Who Believes Every Human Is Her New Best Friend Cala is a young brown tabby with the derpiest little pink tongue that sometimes forgets to go back in after a yawn. She is basically a golden retriever poured into a cat suit, minus the tail-wagging (hers is always doing helicopter circles instead). This girl adores people with every ounce of her goofy heart. The second you open her door she’s talking—soft, squeaky chirps and trills that sound like she’s telling you about her day, complete with dramatic pauses for head boops. Petting? Yes please, all of it, everywhere, forever. She’ll flop sideways, roll around like a cinnamon roll, and shove her face into your hand if you dare slow down. Picking her up? Totally fine! She goes a little stiff at first (“wait, legs are… optional now?”), then melts into a warm, purring burrito who just stares at you upside-down with total trust and mild confusion. Ten more rides and she’ll be requesting airplane mode permanently. Cala is currently listed as “only cat preferred,” but that’s mostly because she gets overstimulated and does dramatic hissy-fit theater when another kitty invades her bubble. She never charges or attacks—she just announces “MA’AM, PERSONAL SPACE” and retreats to sulk adorably. A super mellow, respectful cat who speaks “live and let live” could probably work, but honestly? Cala would be over the moon as your one-and-only spoiled princess who gets 100 % of the cuddles, 100 % of the time. If you want a velcro kitty who greets you at the door with happy feet, narrates your evening in the sweetest squeaky voice, and thinks laps were invented specifically for tabby loaves, Cala is ready to move in today. Bonus: she makes the funniest little “bloof” sound when she flops. You’ll hear it in your dreams. Come meet Cala. She’s already saved you a spot on the couch—right under where she plans to sit. &#239&#184&#143 Visitors to the shelter are by appointment only and after a form has been submitted online:  https://www.marshmallowfoundation.org/forms/  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 30, 2026, 10:57 am
