Story
gentle male cat needs home after being abandonedThis is a courtesy listing and not affiliated with Desoto Animal Rescue Society. Please contact anita4036@aol.com for more information. This precious little guy is in need of a loving home. He is the sweetest kitty, loves to chat and eat and gives the best head bumps. It hurt my heart to even think about how hard it has been for him to adjust to bring on his own after being abandoned in our neighborhood. Please if a rescue or a family could help. Like all fur babies who once had homes and were taken away and left behind, he deserves a family he can love and be loved on. We wish we could continue to keep him but we have 2 rescues of our own now. We are willing to have him fully vetted before going to his new loving home…October 19, 2025, 6:28 pm

Story
Risu is a small male tabby estimated to be around 2 or 3 years old as of Jan 2025 and weighs about 7 lbs. He has a small head and paws and doesn't seem as if he will be on the large side. He was rescued alone as a young stray and vetted. He does not appear to have been part of a community. He seems shy at first but comes around to being very friendly and like to play. He's passed the time consuming kitten stage and ready to be an excellent companion. He loves laying beside his person and getting pets as you read, work or watch TV. He is not vocal unless he is looking for you. He would definitely be great for someone who just wants one pet and just wants to enjoy hanging out with each other. He is a 'people' guy not so much other animals. He seems to be socialized to people. Please contact DARS to schedule a meet and greet or an overnight with Risu (RE SOO). You'll love him!  August 12, 2025, 9:37 am

Story
sweet little princess kitty with spice on the sideMercedes was previously adopted and the family loved her so much. BUT her adoptive dad had never had a cat and has turned out to be severely allergic to her. Her DOB is April 2025 so she is only 8 months old. She is fully vetted, litter trained on wood pellets, loving, playful and has no health issues. FIP and FIV free! She has only been indoors and will need a home inside only. She adjusted well coming back to her foster and has been around other cats and a large gentle collie. She is very sweet and soft as a bunny! Please contact DARS for more information and to set up a visit with Mercedes.January 4, 2026, 12:19 am

Story
I have three beautiful cats that I need to rehome. One male and two females. They are approximately 12 to 15 years old. They are all very healthy, sweet and get along well with each other, and my dog as well. I would prefer that they stay together if at all possible. Ferris is a male, medium to long haired gray cat. Rosie is a tuxedo cat, and Marilyn is I’m not sure. The reason I need to rehome them is because my wife recently passed away and I will be moving and downsizing soon.

Story
Broc is such a perfect stripey boy! This rather large tabby guy is outgoing, friendly and loves human attention. He has a bit of a wonky eye due to an eye injury he received as a kitten. His third eye is slightly torn but requires no ongoing vet care. Broc is laid back, gets along with other pets and is a lover boy. He'd do best in a home with other pets or where a human is home most of the time. He has been neutered, is up to date on vaccines, is FeLV negative, litter box trained and ready for his forever home. Broc is FIV+. He was adopted in early 2021 and found as a stray a few months later. His previous adopters did not return our calls/texts, so we took him back into our system. He was retested for FIV and FeLV at at that time. He tested positive FIV which is no big deal! It is not highly contagious and he can coexist with other cats without any health dangers for him or his kitty friends.  NBAR's policy is to give first consideration to applications for double adoptions. We also offer a discount for those adopting in pairs.  If you are interested in adopting, please go to our website and complete an online application using this link: https://newbeginningsanimalrescue.net/adoption-application  . Once your application is received and processed you will be contacted by an NBAR Volunteer within 24-72 hours. Adoption fee is $85.00 For more information from this cat's foster please contact April via email at davis2684@bellsouth.net. Story
Meet Sabrina Fair! She is a loving, calm and quiet girl with stunning green eyes  who would love her very own furever home. Sabrina Fair did a wonderful job raising her kittens, Tiger and Casper. Tiger is settling in to his furever home now but momma and her other son are still searching for theirs. Sabrina Fair has a disposition kind of like Eeyore's, she seems not to expect much from life and just goes with the flow. She loves human attention but takes her time getting used to new people and surroundings. Her forever human will need to be very patient with her. Sabrina would do best in a quiet home where she can be the only baby (furry or human). She would do wonderful in a home where someone is home most of the time. She is spayed, up to date on vaccines, FIV/FeLV negative and litter box trained.  If you are interested in adopting, please go to our website and complete an online application using this link: http://www.newbeginningsanimalrescue.net . Once your application is received and processed you will be contacted by an NBAR Volunteer within 24-72 hours. Adoption fee is $85.00 For more information from this cat's foster please contact April via email at davis2684@bellsouth.net.
