Story
Prudence has spent nearly her entire young life taking care of everyone else. Prudence did a great job with far too many kittens, but now this long haired tabby diva needs a place of her own. She features fabulous whiskers, a fluffy tail to die for, a raspy little meow that sounds like she's been smoking Pall Malls for the last decade, and a bold personality that's more than ready to take center stage. After spending her first year focused on raising babies, Prudence is finally embracing the spotlight she deserves. Her story started on the streets of Lincoln, where she found a kind stranger's home and decided it was the perfect place to have her babies. The homeowner welcomed her in, cared for Prudence and her kittens, and continued helping through her first couple litters. Eventually, she realized that while she could keep helping, Prudence deserved something even better, a chance to break the cycle and find a forever family of her own. Now safely in rescue, Prudence is leaving her days as a hardworking mama behind and embracing her new role as a sweet companion. She adores people, happily accepts pets and cuddles, purrs with enthusiasm, and is always ready to warm a lap. She's playful, adventurous, and gets along wonderfully with cats, dogs, and kids. Whether she's perched in a cat tree watching the world go by or curled up beside her favorite human, Prudence is simply happy to be included. Like any former street cat, Prudence is curious about what lies beyond an open door, so her future family will want to be mindful when coming and going. Otherwise, she's an easygoing, affectionate girl who is ready to trade motherhood for a lifetime of being babied. Prudence is approximately one year old and fully vetted. She has been spayed, vaccinated for rabies and FVRCP, tested negative for FeLV and FIV, received flea and tick preventative, and is microchipped. She is litterbox trained and has done well with cats, dogs, and children. The only thing she asks in return is that her future family keep an eye on the doorafter all, old street cats never completely lose their curiosity! Story
FINALLY, this absolute stunner of a tortie is up for adoption! We named this gal Geez Louise, and for good reason, because HOLY YIKES. When we first met several months back, girlfriend here was really going through it. She came into rescue with a gaping wound right over the top of her thigh, into her hip flexor. We dont know what happened there, but it was super gross and required emergency attention. And on top of that, Geezie had a SCREAMING urinary tract infection at the same time. Like, literally screaming. She would spend 15, 20, maybe 30 minutes at a pop, squatted up while trying to be ginger with that gnarly leg wound, attempting to release even so much as a teaspoon worth of pee, and just cussing her tail off the entire time at the top of her lungs. You name it, she said it. She probably invented some new swear words throughout that era of her life, and justifiably so. We would stand next to the box and mutter geez. Holy... Oh geez, girlfriend...geez Louise... enough times that the name stuck. Three months later, you would never know she had been through such an ordeal. Louies luscious tortoise coat has grown back in. The screaming pees are behind her, and theres not a single lingering after effect. No special food- no visible lingering scar- not a single curse word is muttered when she hits the whiz. Just a one year old, well rounded kitty looking for the home shell relish for the rest of her life. When were not calling her Geezie or Louie or any variation of either, we simply call her Girlfriend, because that too, is exactly what she is. Shes one of the best girlfriends you could ever have. Shes a companion through and through, who loves hanging out in your lap on a chilly winter evening, laying behind your head on the couch, or just chatting you up about the days events when you come home. If you want to play? Shes 100% down. Had a bad day and just want to lay? Shes got you there, too. She doesnt mind sharing her space with dogs or other cats, but she does need a nice, slow intro so shes sure they arent there to hurt her. She never misses the litter box, eats like a bird, so she wont break the bank at the pet store, and she isnt on any special diet. Theres nothing bad to say about her- except for maybe her behavior when shes on the nip. That is...rather...concering at times. One rip of good ol cat nip and she morphs into a parkour professional- and sometimes, youre her springboard! If youre looking for a well rounded, easy going cat who just wants to be your bestie, Geez Louise is your girl. Shes just one year old, spayed, microchipped, current on all vaccines and toting a clean bill of health! Apply to take her forever home at thephoenixremixrescue.com!

Story
We cant even begin to properly explain just how CHILL of a guy our new friend Toast is. Honestly, his name fits him perfectly, because this big boy is basically the emotional support version of a warm piece of buttered toast. Comforting, cozy, and guaranteed to make your day better. Seriously, this dude is just happy to exist wherever his people are. He loves to snuggle, will crash on a warm fleece blanket or cozy cat bed for HOURS, and when hes awake he just wants to be close, purring away while soaking up pets and attention. Toast is around 2 years old and a whopping 15 lbs of pure cuddle buddy. A BIG handsome hunk of cat. He has had only one experience around dogs since being in rescue, but hes been wonderfully relaxed with the couple of cat encounter he has had so far. Although he has done well with cats, he has FIV so introductions with cats that are FIV negative need to be slow, monitored and controlled. Because Toast is FIV+, wed ideally love to see him go to a home without other cats or with other FIV+ cats. And before anyone gets nervous, FIV really isnt the scary diagnosis people made it out to be in the 90s and early 2000s. It simply means his immune system can be a little more compromised at times, so he could get sick easier than other cats. That said, Toast has been incredibly healthy with us and may very well continue living a completely normal, happy life. We also currently have another FIV+ sweetheart available for adoption, Grey Bro! So if youve been thinking about adopting special needs cats (such as a fiv positive cat) but haven't wanted to only end up with one for the forseeable future, this could be the purrfect opportunity to bring home two ridiculously sweet boys together. Black cats have a hard time getting out of the rescue system at all let alone in a timely manner due to their color alone. They're often overlooked, and this boy now has another mark against him for finding a loving forever home. BUT if you're even considering meeting this boy, we promise you, you won't want to go home without him after you see how much love he has to give, even for strangers. Apply at the link below to bring a MASSIVE new best friend home to your family. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdy9NUdRzsagXgNJ7xhCHp5LZnTUYFxN-2jh4HgXKTou9k-tA/viewform
