Story
ALL our cats and dogs are in the NY area but can be adopted out of state to the purrfect furever home.  In some cases, we can help transport.  Zani's al fresco Summer Adoptions  follow us on FB to find us this summer as we will try new locations to meet the needs of NYC and support the little stores:)     Boo a 1.5y female Purrsian, abandoned on the streets of Saudi Arabia, was all skin and bones who came running when called!  She is a total purr machine even when she wasn't originally in the best condition which she is now!  She is full of love and joy as the clinic there can attest.  Well-behaved and affectionate, she attaches to humans very quickly. She never hissed at any cat no matter how many she meet. She is an angel. Ideally adopted with a friend who is equally as nice as her and won’t bully her. Her favorite toy is ropes and she does like to climb up on the top level of cat trees. She has a purrmanent injury to her back hip but it doesn't seem to bother her in any way nor does she require any future care as a result.  Please apply if you have another sweet cat or would consider one of her friends here.  Please submit an application, arrived Apr 17 All kittens are adoptable in pairs only unless another age appropriate cat is in residence.  Most of our adult cats also like cat company (most fosters are multicat homes).  Please read the following article on cat food to see why no dry: www.catinfo.org Facebook:Zani's Furry Friends ZFF (weekly adoption event info posted there) Twitter: zanisff  Instagram: zanisfurryfriends   All cats are in the NY area.  Cats are spayed/neutered, UTD on age appropriate vaccines, Rabies vaxed, and microchipped.  All are in the NY/NJ area but we will adopt out of state to the purrfect home and in some cases, we can arrange transport.  Please go to our site      https://zanisfurryfriends.org      fill out an application and return to   cats@zanisfurryfriends.org   Please note: kittens must be adopted in pairs or to households with age appropriate cat(s) to ensure proper socialization and companionship. NO exceptions! If you would prefer a solo cat, we would be happy to recommend those cats who would do best as solo cats. All our cats are tested for feline leukemia and FIV, FVRCP and Rabies vaxed and also microchipped.   Many of us (cats/dogs) will be on display on Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent.  Please ask by writing us at cats@zanisfurryfriends.org and following us on FB. If you are seriously interested in adopting one of us in particular, please fill out an application early Friday so that we can be sure to be there. Otherwise we decide based on other variables. Usually we are in our foster homes so this is a bit more stressful and a slightly artificial environment but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes too. Please come! And if you can't adopt, foster or volunteer, you can always donate! If you want to know about cats/dogs specifically being shown at our adoption locations, please email us info@zanisfurryfriends.org closer to the date so we know your interest and will make every effort to have that pet at the event or let you know how and where you can meet.  It is extemely helpful and speeds up adoption if the application is filled out prior to visiting us so please do that before coming to our weekend events. When I first saw Angel my heart dropped. He is a literal angel! He has the most innocent little eyes. He is so pure I can’t explain it. After feeding comes TNRand I started spaying/neutering. When it came to Angel's and his sister's turn, she was sadly hit by a car. She passed away and he looked so lost without her. She was the stronger of the 2, taking care of him and protecting him. I couldn't put him back knowing he wouldn't have her. He gets along amazingly with other cats and feels most comfortable with a cat friend (Lucy is his new bestie and we would love to see the 2 of them in a home together). Super gentle and friendly, pls apply if you have a wonderful kitty for him to bond with or would adopt Lucy with him who is his first choice! Story
Mace is big cat (22 pounds) but very relaxed, gentle and loving. Mace is still active at 11 years old but is a little overweight, so he can't jump as high as he used to (easily onto a chair/couch, but not to a higher bed). Mace is still playful and even plays 'fetch' with small toys. He warms up to other humans fairly quickly, and he loves petting and sitting with or on you. Mace lives with his sister, Ginger, since we adopted them from the litter of a friend's barn cat, but we think Mace would also do well on his own. Mace should thrive in most family situations, although he will retreat to a quieter area if kids are being especially active.

Story
Ginger is a sweet, quiet cat, still quite sleek and active for an 11-year-old. She can be very loving, but prefers petting/cuddles on her terms. She never bites or claws. She will sit with or on you, but prefers not to be picked up and held for very long. She is initially quite shy around new people but, recently, she quickly warmed up to a cat-sitter while we were out of town for 2 weeks. Ginger has always lived with her brother, Mace, as we adopted them as kittens from the litter of a friend's barn cat. They could be adopted together, but Ginger would likely do well on her own, as Mace sometimes `bullies` her a little. Because Ginger is shy and skittish with groups of people, she would likely thrive in a calm home with just a few adults.
