Story
Birthdate: 9/15/2025Breed: One of a kindIf the thought of anything snow or cold related has you pulling up your covers, we're about to flip the script and introduce you to a dapper boy called FROST. A storied mountain peak on a frozen tundra, this warm and snuggly kitten also wants nothing to do with the cold.   Coming into our care with alumni Whit and Everest, Frost was happy to enjoy his foster home a bit longer.  Whether he's entertaining himself with his favorite mouse toys or sharing his hammock with the resident cat, all we know is that we can't stop looking at his richly marbled coat and his "wise beyond my years" eyes.  Probably the most confident of his litter, he's also earned the distinction of having the heartiest appetite of the three.  So bring a churu, bring home a new friend and chase the cold away!    The Rescue is open 7 days a week for you to come and meet our pets! Walk-ins are welcome! In order to interact with them, you’ll need a simple questionnaire filled out. You can fill this out at the Rescue or before you come in at: https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/36923/generic If you have any questions, please email us at adoptions@pawscrossedny.org for more information. Please understand that we cannot hold pets for any reason. All adoptions are done on a first come, first adopt basis for pre-approved applicants.February 12, 2026, 11:44 pm

Story
Birthdate: 9/30/2022Breed: One of a kindI'll tell you right now this is a love story.  Maybe a bit of heartbreak, but a really happy ending.  BUSTER and his sister Betsy were the youngest of a family of five who came into our care here, all the way from Alabama.  Adopted together quickly, they were well loved by their owner who sadly passed away.  Feeling out of sorts without her, they returned to our care where they once again blossomed into wonderful, magnificent cats.  BUSTER is orange tabby perfection.  Soft and floofy, with a lionesque mane, if those deep amber eyes don't catch your attention, his adorable habit of making biscuits enthusiastically all over you - most certainly will.  He is silly and delightful and 100% huggable.  He is smart and will know your voice and your touch in no time flat.  If you love a big guy who only has eyes for you....come and get hugged by a professional snuggler!   Before you can adopt, please complete an adoption questionnaire on our website at https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/36923/generic! Once your questionnaire is pre-approved, you will be able to meet our pets. If you have any questions, please email us at adoptions@pawscrossedny.org for more information. Please understand that we cannot hold any pets. All adoptions are done on a first come, first adopt basis for pre-approved applicants. February 12, 2026, 11:44 pm

Story
Daisy is a quiet, tender-hearted cat with a soulful presence and so much love to give. This elegant all-black beauty may be shy at first, but once she feels safe, she blossoms into an incredibly affectionate companion who simply wants to be near her person. A perfect day for Daisy starts with sitting beside you during your morning coffee, soaking up gentle scritches and chin rubs. She enjoys long, peaceful petting sessions, bursts of playful energy chasing feather toys, and plenty of cozy lounging time nearby. From her foster: “She wants to be petted endlessly, and she’s the easiest cat I’ve ever had to get into a carrier!” Daisy’s story: Daisy was rescued in Crown Heights after tragedy struck her colony, which was largely lost to poisoning. Thankfully, she received thorough veterinary care, including bloodwork, and was confirmed healthy. Now safe indoors, she’s ready for the stable, loving home she has always deserved. Daisy is spayed, vaccinated, flea- and parasite-free, and tested negative for FIV/FeLV. She is a sensitive, gentle cat who thrives in calm environments. While she can do well with another relaxed cat, she would likely be happiest as a solo companion in a peaceful household where she can fully relax, bond deeply, and let her playful side shine. Daisy is the perfect match for someone patient and kind - the type of adopter who understands that the shyest cats often form the strongest bonds. If you’d like to meet Daisy please fill out our adoption application here: https://brooklynanimalaction.org/adoption-forms/ Be sure to mention Daisy select Suse as the rescuer, and complete the form. Story
Pillsbury is a big, gentle sweetheart with impeccable manners and a soft, affectionate personality. Slightly shy at first, he quickly reveals himself to be incredibly loving. He's the kind of cat who quietly steals your heart. A perfect day for Pillsbury includes birdwatching from the window, politely asking for attention with sweet headbutts, and spending time near his people. He’s beginning to discover the fun of toys and enjoys the comfort of companionship. From his foster: “He is so gentle, polite, and sweet — such a flirt! He rubs against my legs, headbutts table legs and even walls, and he grooms his foster brother.” Pillsbury’s story: Originally rescued from a colony in Cypress Hills, Pillsbury was first TNRed. But as time passed, his friendly nature emerged, and it became clear he was meant for indoor life where he could truly relax and connect with people. Pillsbury is neutered, vaccinated, flea- and parasite-free, and tested negative for FIV/FeLV. He’s on the shy side initially but exceptionally kind and trusting once comfortable. He does well with other cats and would likely enjoy a friendly feline companion. With his calm demeanor and affectionate spirit, Pillsbury would thrive in a patient home that lets his confidence grow at its own pace. If you’d like to meet Pillsbury, please fill out our adoption application here: https://brooklynanimalaction.org/adoption-forms/ Be sure to mention Pillsbury, select Suse as the rescuer, and complete the form.  February 12, 2026, 10:56 pm

Story
Mrs. Peacock is a gorgeous, fluffy, and truly lovely cat with a gentle nature and a calming presence. Easygoing from the start, she settled into her foster home within a day — already snuggling, accepting pets, and showing just how naturally affectionate she is. A perfect day for Mrs. Peacock includes plenty of petting and brushing, followed by cozy naps in her favorite spot. She’s a relaxed companion who enjoys human connection without being demanding, making her an ideal match for someone looking for a peaceful, steady presence at home. From her foster: “She was snuggling within a day of arriving and is incredibly gentle. Once she feels comfortable, she even initiates affection with sweet little boops.” Mrs. Peacock was rescued from a colony in Canarsie, where a dedicated caretaker recognized what a special cat she was and asked for help finding her the safe indoor life she deserves. Having known kindness before, she transitioned beautifully to foster care. Mrs. Peacock is spayed, vaccinated, flea- and parasite-free, and tested negative for FIV/FeLV. She is a calmer cat who would likely do best in a home without young children. She can happily live as a solo cat or with another relaxed adult cat (she previously had a feline friend on the street). Mrs. Peacock would be a wonderful choice for a working household or anyone seeking a low-key, affectionate companion who brings warmth without chaos. Longhair care: Mrs. Peacock's beautiful fluffy coat will require regular brushing to prevent tangles and mats. Adopters should be prepared for routine grooming to keep her coat healthy and comfortable. If you’d like to meet Mrs. Peacock please fill out our adoption application here: https://brooklynanimalaction.org/adoption-forms/ Be sure to mention Mrs. Peacock, select Suse as the rescuer, and complete the form.  February 12, 2026, 10:56 pm
