At 10 years of age, beautiful Kitty is ready for a peaceful change of scenery! This handsome black cat is a friendly, slightly shy boy who has been a beloved pet since kittenhood. He enjoys calm people, gets along well with other cats, and would thrive in a quiet, predictable household without frequent visitors. Dogs are not his cup of tea, and he will hide when they are around, so a dog-free home is best. Kitty is accustomed to an indoor-outdoor lifestyle where he can do his business (wink-wink) and has especially enjoyed relaxing in our catio while watching the birds. He also appreciates tasty treats, gentle brushing sessions, and companionship that allows him to settle in at his own pace. With a little patience and a calm home, Kitty is sure to become a wonderful companion.

Meet Gati! This 3-1/2-year-old friendly female loves people and has plenty of enthusiasm for playtime. She's good with kids, although her play can get a little rough when she gets excited, so a home that can recognize when she’s becoming overstimulated and help her settle would be a great fit. Gati was surrendered after having difficulty adjusting to a new home with multiple other cats. Her idea of making feline friends involved stalking, chasing, and some pretty intense play—unfortunately, the other cats weren’t nearly as enthusiastic about her games. Her behavior appears to come from excitement and overstimulation rather than aggression. Gati may do best as the only cat, or possibly with a confident, playful cat who can appreciate her high-energy style. With people who understand her signals, give her appropriate outlets for play, and help her take a break when the excitement gets to be too much, Gati has the potential to be a fun and entertaining companion.

Brucey is a very affectionate 7-month-old Manx/tabby girl who is with us through no fault of her own. Other pets in her previous home simply weren’t a good match for her, so she’s now looking for a fresh start. Brucey enjoys being petted, watching birds and launching herself into a good feather-on-a-fishing-pole session. She’s a friendly youngster with plenty of personality, although she does become quite the fuss bucket if you try to pick her up and carry her around. Brucey is also declawed. We never recommend declawing cats, as it can contribute to problems such as arthritis and may sometimes lead to increased mouthiness or sensitivity. But if you’re specifically looking for a declawed cat, our advice is simple: rescue one. Brucey has already had that choice made for her, and now she just needs someone willing to give this affectionate young cat the loving indoor home she deserves.

Meet Nipsey, a 6½-year-old gentleman who is currently carrying around a little more Nipsey than strictly necessary. Okay, quite a bit more. He’s declawed, indoor-only, and has been living with his littermate sister. He’s looking for a new home because his owner is moving. Nipsey isn’t a lap cat—and honestly, your circulation may thank him for that—but he does enjoy being around people. He’s social, confident, and pretty good at reading the room. He may take a minute to size up someone new, but he warms up nicely and isn’t skittish or aggressive. He’s even fine with being picked up, although you may want to lift with your knees. His litterbox manners are excellent, and he’s accustomed to an automatic feeder—which may need to continue exercising some firm portion control on his behalf. Nipsey is basically a big, friendly roommate who enjoys your company without needing to be glued to you. Give him a sensible diet, a comfy place to lounge, and some people to hang out with, and this substantial fellow should fit right in.

Meet Samantha, better known around the house as Big Girl—and, well, the nickname didn’t come out of nowhere. Samantha is a 6½-year-old indoor-only, declawed lady who lives with her littermate brother. She’s affectionate, easygoing, and very passive—the kind of cat who would much rather keep the peace and find a comfy spot to lounge. She’s not a fan of being picked up, although when you’re built like Samantha, having all four feet suddenly leave the ground may seem like an unnecessary activity. Big Girl has tried dieting. For three whole months. Special food and everything. The result? Samantha would like to report that absolutely nothing happened. She remains magnificently Samantha-sized and VERY food motivated. She uses an automatic feeder, presumably because leaving her in charge of portion control would be a questionable management decision. Her litterbox habits are excellent, and she gets an occasional sanitary shave because sometimes a girl’s curves make personal grooming a team effort. If you appreciate a calm, affectionate cat with a big personality, an even bigger appetite, and absolutely no interest in swimsuit season, come meet Samantha. Big Girl is ready to find her people!
