Meet Sheldon! Sheldon is a 9-month-old catahoula/cattle dog mix! DNA test completed and he is one cool herding/Hunting dog! Cattle dog 51% Catahoula 21% Blue Lacy 11% Coonhound 7% Ridgeback 6% Pitbull 4% Sheldon’s journey didn’t start easy. He was found abandoned in a house with another dog, severely underweight and covered in ticks. After that, he spent two long months waiting in an overcrowded shelter and was on his last 24 hours before we stepped up. Despite everything he’s been through, Sheldon has grown and learned so much with us. Sheldon is now healthy and at a proper weight, he is a medium-high energy pup who is full of personality, he loves to snuggle and is wonderful with new people. With dogs, he does best once properly introduced, can be a little reactive at first but after he gets to know a dog he’s all in for playtime! Would do best with another dog that is playful and social No cats for him Good with kids (isn't living with one but has met plenty at breweries and out and about) Exercise needs are minimum 2x40 min of exercise a day, can be through many different activities: - running, walking, or hiking - play: flirt pole, tug, fetch - training: Sheldon loves to work and learn new tricks! - scent work - train to use a treadmill indoors His highlights: - Crate trained and House trained, he lets you know when he needs to go out - Great on leash - Excellent in the car - Knows basic obedience, including a solid “middle” command - Extremely smart and highly treat-motivated. Savory is a playful, lovable 3-month-old Catahoula Leopard Dog mix with a big personality and an even bigger zest for life. True to his Catahoula roots, he’s intelligent, energetic, and naturally curious about everything around him. He loves running and exploring the backyard, confidently chasing his foster siblings (even though they’re much bigger!) and checking out every new sight and smell. Like many smart working-breed pups, Savory is a bit mouthy and enjoys trying to “sample” the world, so he’ll need appropriate chew toys and continued guidance. Catahoulas are known for being loyal, people-oriented dogs, and Savory already shows that affectionate side — he loves attention and happily settles into belly rubs. Turn him on his back, rub his tummy, and he’ll completely relax, sometimes even drifting off to sleep. Savory is doing well with his kennel training and sleeps soundly at night, especially if he has a stuffed animal to snuggle. He still needs one or two potty breaks overnight, as expected for his age. He’s learning to go potty outside and already knows how to use a doggie door, which is a great start to his house-training journey. He has met the resident cat a few times and has only shown polite curiosity with gentle sniffing. And while he does enjoy “collecting” shoes, he hasn’t destroyed anything — just a reminder that puppy-proofing (and picking up shoes!) is part of the fun. Savory will thrive in an active home ready for a smart, loyal, and adventurous pup.
