Story
Camila is such a sweet girl with so much love to give. More than anything, she just wants to be close to her people—she’s a little Velcro pup who will happily soak up every bit of love, affection, and snuggles she can get. Right now, so much of the world is brand new to Camila, and it’s been incredibly sweet watching her discover it. She’s following her foster sister’s lead and learning all about things like stairs, going for walks, exploring new places, and investigating all the interesting sights, sounds, and smells around her. She may approach new things with a little uncertainty at first, but her curiosity quickly starts to shine through. Camila is learning more every day and gaining confidence as she realizes that the world can be a pretty wonderful place. She loves having another dog to show her the ropes, but what she seems to love most is knowing that her person is nearby. She has such a gentle, affectionate spirit and is looking for a family who will continue showing her all the good things life has to offer. If you’re looking for a sweet little shadow, a snuggle buddy, and a pup whose whole world lights up when she feels loved, Camila might just be your girl. ##2819953##

Poppy is a bright, energetic girl with plenty of enthusiasm for life. She loves having space to run, play, and exercise her zoomies. She’s driven, eager to learn, and always ready for her next activity. Poppy is incredibly friendly and affectionate with people, and she loves being part of the fun with other dogs once she gets to know them.  Poppy is crate trained, potty trained, recalls very well, and is making tremendous progress each day with her leash reactivity. She picks things up quickly, already mastering “sit,” within a few days. She has plenty of potential to add more skills to her repertoire. Poppy needs an active home that can keep her physically exercised and mentally engaged. She’ll thrive when she has training, games, and other ways to put her brain to work. Poppy is ready for her next adventure... are you? Story
This pup will be available to meet starting on 8/29 Swirly is a 2-year-old, 47 lb neutered Catahoula mix who looks like he walked straight out of a dog modeling agency. With his gorgeous swirling merle coat, one brilliant blue eye and one warm brown eye, this boy is an absolute showstopper. Seriously, somebody get him an Instagram account and a sponsorship deal because he is READY.   But Swirly isn’t just ridiculously handsome — his personality is every bit as wonderful as his looks. He loves people, loves other dogs and is an all-around sweet, friendly boy who seems pretty convinced that everyone he meets has the potential to become his new best friend.   Swirly arrived at the shelter as an unclaimed stray, so we don’t know much about his life before coming to us. What we DO know is that someone is going to be incredibly lucky to call this boy theirs.   He enjoys playing with other dogs and tends to be submissive with his canine friends, making him a fun and easygoing playmate. He already knows how to sit, walks well on leash and is eager to spend time with his people. He has that perfect combination of handsome, social, sweet and ready-for-anything that makes him an absolute dream for a Catahoula lover. They were rescued from a shelter in New Mexico Meet and greets are by appointment only.  An approved application is required to schedule a meeting. Check out our events page for upcoming open adoption events! We have no additional back story or update for this dog at this time.  When we do, it will be updated here.  This is all the information we have currently. Approved Applicants may make the adoption fee payment by clicking donate above.  Partial adoption fees will not hold a dog. If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded. Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free pet insurance.  We are not affiliated with MetLife pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect).  Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico.  While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances.   More questions?  Read our FAQs here: https://4p4l.org/faqs/  Breed labels are a "best guess" by a shelter veterinarian and cannot be guaranteed.  ##2825759##

Story
Meet Elsa – The Perfect Mix of Adventure and Affection Elsa is a 59-pound Catahoula with one of the sweetest personalities you could ever hope to meet. She’s affectionate, loving, curious, and has that wonderful balance of being ready to play when it’s time for fun and ready to soak up affection when it’s time to settle down. Elsa loves being with people and has so much love to give. She’s the kind of girl who can happily join you for an adventure and then curl up close afterward, perfectly content just being near her favorite humans. She’s also an intelligent girl who will thrive with an active family willing to keep both her body and her busy mind engaged. Elsa loves going for walks and would be a wonderful companion for exploring trails, taking daily adventures, playing games, and learning new things. Elsa enjoys other dogs and loves having canine friends. She could happily share her home with another dog after a successful meet and greet to make sure everyone is a good match, but she would also be perfectly happy as the only dog and the center of her family’s world. There really is so much to love about Elsa. She’s playful without being over the top, affectionate without asking for much in return, and smart, curious, and eager to experience everything her new life has waiting for her. Elsa is simply a wonderful dog waiting for someone to realize just how lucky they’ll be to call her family. 📍 Available for adoption at our Dogsville location in Humansville, MO 🖱 Apply to adopt at www.nmdr.org (select Missouri) ------ Many NMDR dogs have had limited prior socialization and may need time, patience, and support as they adjust to home life. Skills such as house training, leash walking, and handling may require continued practice. Progress will vary by individual dog. Homes with older children are often a good fit, depending on temperament. To learn more about NMDR and our adoption process, please visit our website.
