Meet Oreo! This shy boy needs a calm, patient home where he can take his time settling in. Once he feels safe, Oreo becomes incredibly sweet and loving. He may do well with another dog, but his adopter must have experience managing dog-to-dog resource guarding. He’s approved for homes with kids 13+, and he must go to a cat-free home due to his history of barking at and chasing them. Oreo is ready for a loving family who will give him the space and support he needs to thrive.

This kanga-Roo is hoping to hop his way into your heart! He`s an active guy that will appreciate an active lifestyle full of adventure. Roo hasn`t lived with other dogs but enjoyed romping with another pup here at the shelter! If you have a dog and are interested in Roo, bring them down for a meet-and-greet so we can help ensure it`s a match. And while he loves dogs, seeing them when on leash can be a bit frustrating for him because he just wants to play! Because of this, he will need to live in an area that has a lower density of neighborhood dogs (no apartments please!). Roo doesn`t seem to be a fan of sharing his food, so HSBV will only rehome him to a family either without children or with children over the age of 10.

Raven would like nothing more than to be your dedicated sidekick, your ride or die, and your number one fan. This beautiful, dappled dog LOVES PEOPLE. And dogs. And being petted. And oh wow, treats! And TEENAGERS! Teenagers are the best! KIDS are the best! And holding hands? THE BEST. Life is good when you are a Raven. Despite her adoration of just about everything, Raven is generally a relaxed and calm pup. Think Buddha with periodic zoomies. She is a smart girl who knows “sit” and “no” and is learning “down” and “off”. She walks nicely on leash. She is comfortable jogging next to a bike or one-wheel.  She sleeps all night in her crate. If she is tired from playing all day, she will even put herself to bed. She is quickly mastering potty training. Raven is going to be a big dog. Hi, I’m Josie! I’m a 40lb, 2-year-old Catahoula mix who was originally adopted from the Roswell Humane Society in New Mexico. Unfortunately, I’m being returned because I discovered that chickens are a little too tempting for me, so I’ll need a home without them. Other than my chicken obsession, I’m a wonderful girl! I’m great with dogs, cats, and kids, good on a leash, housetrained, and can be trusted home alone. I’m also spayed and fully vaccinated. I’ll be arriving October 3rd and am hoping to find a loving, chicken-free forever home!

Izzy was my late grandmother's baby. They were inseparable! Izzy and my grandmother took long walks every day and knew all of the neighbors, kids, and other dogs in the area. Making friends with each! When my grandmother passed i wanted nothing more than to keep Izzy and have her be a permanent part of our home. I currently live in a townhome complex with no yard, and not a lot of space for her to exist. Izzy also seemed to developed some anxiety when my grandmother passed. This translated to being nervous around people and other dogs. She has niped us on rare occasions, and has gone potty on carpeted areas. I need her to go to a home with an expire need owner who will love her unconditionally and has a huge fenced in back yard. Maybe someone who can give her a job to do. She is very intelligent. Someone who can be patient and know how to help her get passed her anxiety with other dogs and strangers. Someone who can give her the home I wish I could have provided for her.
