Story
Meet Bellamy – The Curious Sniffer Extraordinaire! Bellamy is a spirited and delightful young Shepherd/hound mix, overflowing with curiosity and charm. Every ounce of her energetic, clever genes is put to work as she explores the world around her! On walks, Bellamy is a true adventurer—nose to the ground, tail held high—following every intriguing scent from start to finish. Give her the freedom, and she could happily wander and sniff for hours on end! This inquisitive girl is a quick learner who loves to figure things out. She often surprises her humans by offering all of her known cues at once, hoping her extra effort will earn her an extra cookie—or two! Bellamy’s intelligence shines through in her playful eagerness to learn and engage. Bellamy is well-mannered and house-trained, knows her basic commands, and is crate-trained. She is learning to perfect her leash manners, too. While she’s not one to share her meals (honestly, who is?), she’s perfectly content enjoying her food in peace. Bellamy truly thrives as the one-and-only furry companion in the home—she loves being the center of attention and knows exactly how to make her humans feel lucky to have her around! Bellamy is the perfect blend of curiosity, intelligence, and affection—a sparkling personality just waiting to brighten her forever home! Bellamy’s Favorite Things: Long, nose-to-the-ground, sniff-filled walks Food… of any and all kinds! Gentle scritches along her neck, right next to her collar Cues Bellamy Knows: Sit Down Stay Touch Come Paw "Let's Go" "This Way" Take it Bellamy is an All-Star dog, and her adoption appointment includes a discussion with the training team, as well as a few enrichment goodies to help get you both off to a good start. To learn more about Bellamy or to schedule an appointment to meet her, please email info@ahconnects.org (including your name and phone number), and the staff will be happy to assist you. Our dogs and puppies go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (7 months and over), and up to date on core vaccines, heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians. Ask fosters@ahconnects.org about fostering Bellamy, while she waits for her forever home!

Story
So you thought you couldn't find a pure bred dog at a shelter, huh? Not so! Patches had a DNA test done while he's been here at Anderson and it came back as 100% Catahoula Leopard Dog! He is a sweet and friendly boy, though sometimes takes a minute to warm up to new people. But once he knows you and is comfortable, he's a love! With his cheerful personality and endless enthusiasm, he's the kind of dog who'll greet friends with a wagging tail and a big smile. Patches is always ready to bring joy and love into every moment. True to his breed, Patches is a playful pup with boundless energy! He loves to run, jump, and chase after anything that moves. But don't let his excitement fool you - he's also a gentle and affectionate companion, always ready for cuddles after a fun play session. Friendly, playful, and full of energy, Patches is the perfect furry friend who makes every day a little brighter! Patches is an All-Star dog! His adoption comes with some extra benefits at time of adoption. Their adoption appointment includes a discussion with our Training Team, and they will go home with their very own no-pull-harness and a few enrichment goodies to help get them off to a good start! Story
🐾 Meet Atlas – Our Longest-Waiting Adventurer 🐾 Atlas is a 4-year-old Catahoula mix who has been in the rescue program for almost 4 years, and we truly don’t understand how this incredible dog is still waiting for his forever home. Atlas is great with other dogs and enjoys having canine friends. He is cat-friendly, but he can be a bit much for them since he always wants to play—so he’d do best in a cat-free home or one with a very tolerant, confident cat. This guy is active, athletic, and always ready for an adventure. Walks, outings, and staying busy are his jam, so he’ll need an active family who can keep up with his enthusiasm for life. Atlas does have some separation anxiety, but it is very manageable and continues to improve with routine and structure. And here’s the really cool part—Atlas has competed in THREE OneWorld Canine Biathlons and absolutely crushed it, even placing 2nd in one of his races! 🏅 This dog has both brains and brawn. 📍 Fostered in Huntsville, AL 🐶 Good with dogs 🐱 Cats with conditions 🏃 Adventure-ready & athletic Atlas has waited long enough. He’s loyal, driven, and ready to be someone’s best adventure buddy. If you’re looking for a dog who will truly be your partner in life, Atlas is your guy. 👉 Apply to adopt at www.forrescue.net Rescue: Friends of Rescue 💙

Story
Houla 5 Month Old Catahoula Mix Houla is a tender little Catahoula mix, about 5 months old, and expected to grow to around 50 pounds. Shes just beginning her journey as an indoor dog, taking in the world one gentle step at a time. Doorways, new people, and being called to you are all still new chapters shes learning to read. What she does know already is how to be sweet. Her nature is soft, kind, and quietly curious. She simply needs a patient family willing to guide her as she discovers that people are safe, homes are comforting, and love is something she can lean into. With time, encouragement, and steady reassurance, Houla will blossom into the devoted companion shes meant to be. Shes a little shy now, but her heart is wide open for the right family.
