Story
Meet Cher: the most beautiful 2.5-year-old, 46lb, Catahoula Leopard Dog mix you'll ever see. Cher knows how to turn every moment into a star-studded performance. You see, she is not just a dog - she is the perfect 'diva' in disguise, ready to steal your heart (and maybe a treat or two). Cher is fully grown, house broken, and ready to find her forever family!
Cher is a very well tempered dog and enjoys the simple joys in life. She lived the beginning of her life outside, fighting the elements, and constantly searching for food. Since being rescued, Cher has cherished delicious, good quality food, fresh clean water, comfy blankets or beds, and all of the love and snuggles that come with a foster home. Cher enjoys going on walks around the neighborhood then coming home to snuggle and watch your favorite shows with you. Cher's foster mom is happy to report that she is a wonderful snuggle buddy, easy going, and a fantastic walking partner. Cher has loved her peanut butter kongs, fuzzy toys, or antlers to chew on, but she is also very happy to get belly rubs all day while binging some TV.
Cher does well with other dogs, cats, and would do well with children. Cher walks well on leash and is eager to meet her forever family; she keeps dreaming about all of the snuggles, love, and fun you'll be able to have! Apply on our site today to begin your adoption application on Cher!
Cher is spayed, up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations, and microchipped.
Given the conditions Cher originated from, upon rescue, she tested positive for Heartworm disease. Thanks to Home for Good Dog Rescue, Cher has completed her Heartworm treatment.
*Heartworm disease is a serious and if left untreated, fatal disease. It is caused by foot-long worms (heartworms) that live in the heart, lungs, and associated blood vessels of affected animals, causing severe lung disease, heart failure, and damage to other organs in the body. Mosquitoes are carriers of heartworms and have the ability to infect dogs all year round, especially in the Southeastern portion of the United States and during the summer months.*

HFG Dog Rescue is a 100 percent foster-based rescue located in Berkeley Heights, NJ with a sister location, The Almost Home Wellness Center, in Aiken, SC. All of our dogs are rescued from kill shelters in SC + GA and once ready for adoption live in loving local NJ foster homes until they find forever families of their own. Our fosters begin basic training, housebreaking, and leash-walking skills to help pair you with the perfect pup for life!
