Story
Welcome, Aspen! Say hello to Aspen, the newest member of our rescue family! This gorgeous little girl lost her home after her family was evicted, ending up in an inner-city animal control facility. Despite her tough start, Aspen is the sweetest girl with the most stunning Merle coat, striking blue eyes, and unique markings—she may even be part Catahoula Leopard Dog! Aspen is a little nervous but warms up with time. She has no food resource guarding and has tested well with other dogs. Due to her timid nature, a home with older kids would be best. A big thank you to our volunteers Nicole and Joe for giving Aspen her freedom ride and to our partner Stephanie for ensuring she received her vet care. Aspen will be staying with our amazing board members, George and Jenn—thank you both for helping us save another life! 🩵🩵 Aspen will be available for foster-to-adopt while she waits for her vaccine booster. Ready to meet this beautiful girl? Apply today at pittiesandpals.com.

Story
Aloha! My name is Makue (Mah-ku-eh), and I come all the way from Kauai, where I was found as a stray and brought to the Kauai Humane Society. Some nice people helped get me transported to PupStarz Rescue in New York so I would have a better chance at finding a forever home. I am 1 year 8 month old, 50 pounds wonderful Catahoula mix dog with the most beautiful coat and mesmerizing eyes. I love humans and will immediately try to sit on your lap and snuggle against you at first meeting. I get along well with my two foster dog sisters and follow their lead but I would love to be an only dog too, because I LOVE human attention and am a velcro dog. I want to be attached to my foster mom at all times and love to cuddle. While I do get along with most dogs, I wouldn't be a good fit in a home with small dogs or cats. I'm not food aggressive at all, and am fine with humans touching me and brushing my teeth. I'm mostly housetrained, but I don't know how to "ask" to go outside yet, but if you have a pee pad inside, I will use it. I need work on my leash walking because I get too excited and will pull, but I'm getting better at it! I can't wait to meet my new forever family. Are you my person? If so, I will love you unconditionally and give you so much affection. Please adopt me! If you would like to adopt this dog, please visit email rescue@pupstarzrescue.org or visit www.pupstarzrescue.org for an application! www.pupstarzrescue.org Please Follow us on Instagram: @pupstarzrescue Like us on FaceBook! www.facebook.com/PupStarzRescue PupStarz rescue cannot guarantee the breed, size, temperament, or age of any dog.

Story
Meet Cher: the most beautiful 2.5-year-old, 46lb, Catahoula Leopard Dog mix you'll ever see. Cher knows how to turn every moment into a star-studded performance. You see, she is not just a dog - she is the perfect 'diva' in disguise, ready to steal your heart (and maybe a treat or two). Cher is fully grown, house broken, and ready to find her forever family! Cher is a very well tempered dog and enjoys the simple joys in life. She lived the beginning of her life outside, fighting the elements, and constantly searching for food. Since being rescued, Cher has cherished delicious, good quality food, fresh clean water, comfy blankets or beds, and all of the love and snuggles that come with a foster home. Cher enjoys going on walks around the neighborhood then coming home to snuggle and watch your favorite shows with you. Cher's foster mom is happy to report that she is a wonderful snuggle buddy, easy going, and a fantastic walking partner. Cher has loved her peanut butter kongs, fuzzy toys, or antlers to chew on, but she is also very happy to get belly rubs all day while binging some TV. Cher does well with other dogs, cats, and would do well with children. Cher walks well on leash and is eager to meet her forever family; she keeps dreaming about all of the snuggles, love, and fun you'll be able to have! Apply on our site today to begin your adoption application on Cher! Cher is spayed, up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations, and microchipped. Given the conditions Cher originated from, upon rescue, she tested positive for Heartworm disease. Thanks to Home for Good Dog Rescue, Cher has completed her Heartworm treatment. *Heartworm disease is a serious and if left untreated, fatal disease. It is caused by foot-long worms (heartworms) that live in the heart, lungs, and associated blood vessels of affected animals, causing severe lung disease, heart failure, and damage to other organs in the body. Mosquitoes are carriers of heartworms and have the ability to infect dogs all year round, especially in the Southeastern portion of the United States and during the summer months.* **Please note: completing an "adoption inquiry" via Adopt-a-pet/Petfinder does not constitute an HFG Dog Rescue adoption application. All adoption applications must be completed on www.hfgdr.org** HFG Dog Rescue is a 100 percent foster-based rescue located in Berkeley Heights, NJ with a sister location, The Almost Home Wellness Center, in Aiken, SC. All of our dogs are rescued from kill shelters in SC + GA and once ready for adoption live in loving local NJ foster homes until they find forever families of their own. Our fosters begin basic training, housebreaking, and leash-walking skills to help pair you with the perfect pup for life! In order to apply for adoption and set up an individual meet and greet with one of our dogs, please visit us at www.hfgdr.org. Find us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/HomeForGoodDogRescue.
