You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.wagoninn.rescuegroups.org Ethel is a beautiful girl who is looking for a home! Ethel is with our partner rescue in Louisiana but hoping to come to NJ on our next transport. We offer a foster to adopt trial for approved adopters. Ethel is described as calm and low key. Ethel gets along well with other dogs and she does well in her crate. Ethel LOVES treats. She also likes to Netflix and chill. She is house trained and good on the leash. Ethel was recently tested with cats and she did great! Ethel is fixed, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. She completed treatment for heartworm. Her adoption fee is $450.  Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through they deserve a loving, committed home.   How to Adopt Me! If you are interested in learning more about me, and possibly making me part of your family, please go to  wagoninn.rescuegroups.org . Story
UPDATE MAY 2024 Yay! Camo has reached his goal weight of 70lbs. It was a long journey from 93lbs to here but he did it!  He is more than ready to find his forever home with a family who will shower him with love. He has been in the shelter for about 4 months, but that can feel like forever after being in a home for 4 years. Camo is looking for an active family who can keep up with his active lifestyle and spunky personality. Best suited as an only pet.   JAN 2024 When dogs have to come back to the shelter it is incredibly heartbreaking.  Camo was adopted from us in 2019.  Due to family issues in the home, he has been returned through no fault of his own.  He is now almost 5 years old and wondering why he is here. His world has been turned upside down.   Camo is very friendly and smart!  He has loved everyone he's met here at the shelter.  Catahoula's make loyal companions.  They are working dogs, active and highly intelligent.  They have a gorgeous blue merle coat. He is a big boy and is sadly very overweight!  We have him on a healthy diet now and are giving him daily exercise.  We are looking for an active home that will make sure to keep up with a good exercise regimen and make sure those pounds come off so he can back to a healthy weight.  He Has lost 15lbs so far!!   Camo loved his big fenced yard in his previous home and enjoys running here in our fenced area so we are hopeful his new adopters will have the same so he can enjoy that as well.   Happiest as the only pet. Super smart!  Knows quite a few commands.  Loves to fetch the tennis ball.  100% housebroken.  *Per JSAC policy, puppies and kittens under 6 months will not be adopted to families with children under the age of 6 years.June 22, 2024, 9:17 am

Story
Scone is a 2.5 year old Catahoula Leopard Dog. I adopted her in February but am unable to keep her due to relocation. She’s super sweet and cuddly. She is also always super happy when you come home (hope you like dog hugs). I currently also have 2 cats that she lives with and loves to play with as well. Sometimes she’ll chase the cats, but they let her know if it’s not okay and she backs off. Scone is also very friendly with people of all ages. She has been around kids, teens, and adults and is very caring. The only thing is she doesn’t seem to know how to control herself around other dogs. She does fine at doggy daycare but she exhibits leash aggression and also at the dog park. I would not recommend her to someone with a current dog. Other than that, she’s a love bug. She knows many commands, is fully potty trained, etc. So is scared of thunder and fireworks however, as a warning.

Story
Meet our Catahoula mix babies of between 7 and 8 months.  All girls, they make a fine litter of happy and energetic puppies.  They love to play with each other as well as other dogs, kids, and even their foster’s cat.  These girls all wear short coats, but of different colors.  Sofia is gray with white; Sema is tan with white; Shalene is white with black (and a bit of tan) and Sadie is brown with white.  Some bear Catahoula markings while others’ faces are enchantingly wrinkled in Sharpei fashion.  Between 20 and 25 puppy pounds, they will each mature to about 60. What a delight these baby girls are!  (posted 2/3/24, TN) (age updated 6/19/24) **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. ** Adoption/Transport:  $250.00June 22, 2024, 12:19 am

Story
Meet Nick! Nick is a beautiful 11-week old 17-lbs male Catahoula (or possibly blue heeler) mix. He is a lively puppy that enjoys going on walks with his adult dog buddy, Moon. Nick loves to greet new people with fierce wags of his tail and many puppy kisses. He has been wormed and up-to-date on vaccines. Nick sleeps through the night in his crate and is mostly housebroken at his current foster's home. He sits for a "cookie" and is very attentive. Nick was surrendered to Animal Control at about 4-5 weeks old but luckily the advocate was present and found him an immediate foster so he did not have to stay in the shelter. Nick is ready for adoption in the NJ area around the 19th of February. He will do best with a family who will include him in daily activitieis and has a secure fenced yard. Nick would probably enjoy the copany of a gentle confident adult dog and can be with supervised children. He may require some formal training as he is high energy and very smart. If you are interested in adopting, please submit an online Adoption Application: https://bridges2safety.wufoo.com/forms/bridges-to-safety-adoption-application/ If you experience any problems with the form or have questions, call Ellen at (732) 859-8915 or email us at bridgesdogsmail@gmail.com.

Meet BAM! Bam is now 2 years, 2 months old and 62 lbs. He was abandoned in McKenzie, TN at a rental property. HOW HORRID! He had much higher energy back in Feb 2023. But with an AMAZING, dedicated foster Mom...Bam has established a regular exercise routine and he has nicely smoothed out his energy now. Bam's 'thing' is his georgeous blue eyes. They look like jewels glistening at ya! I did the breed app check. And if shows mostly American Fox Hound with mix of Louisianna Catahoula Leopard. I'm going with it as his breed has had us puzzled. Bam is great with all the dogs in his foster home...of both genders, all ages, and various breeds. He is good on leash, rides well, crates & house trained.
