Current Location: Littlestown, PA Meet Merry Mistletoe 🎄 Merry Mistletoe is a 3-year-old, super sweet, happy-go-lucky girl who truly lives up to her festive name. Weighing around 30–35 lbs, she’s the perfect medium size for just about any family. She loves everyone she meets and is always greeting the world with her signature butt wag. Merry did wonderfully meeting other dogs and people, showing a submissive, easygoing demeanor with other dogs (at least during a small-store outing). With people, she’s incredibly gentle and affectionate. Merry seems to enjoy car rides, walks nicely on leash, does well in her crate, and appears to be housetrained. At home, one of her favorite pastimes is sitting on the back of the sofa, quietly looking out the window and taking in the world. Merry arrived in foster care with her three puppies and has been a devoted mama. Two of her pups are still searching for their forever homes as well. If you’re looking for a loving, gentle, and joyful companion who fits right into family life, Merry Mistletoe may be your perfect match. 💕🐾 I’m looking for my forever family! Is that with you? If so please click “apply for adoption” or submit an application through the Adopt tab. Let’s get our family started! This dog tested positive for heartworm disease before arriving to the rescue. Heartworm disease is transmitted to a dog through a bite from an infected mosquito producing a positive test in six months. OPH will treat the dog and provide two weeks of recovery time prior to adoption. Potential adopters will receive detailed information on the disease and their role in completing the recovery process from OPH’s heartworm coordinator. With monthly preventatives, the disease is completely preventable. MEET CHAI! Chai is a 3-year-old, 53-lb Catahoula mix who is as sweet and affectionate as they come. This handsome boy truly loves being close to his people and feels happiest when he can see what his humans are up to.Chai prefers not to be left alone and does best when his crate is set up in a room where he can feel included—he just wants to be part of the family. He’s a smart, eager-to-please pup who already knows sit, down, and even an adorable “play dead” trick! He’ll also spin in a circle on a hand signal and enjoys showing off his skills, especially when food is involved.Chai appears to be house trained and gets along well with other dogs of all sizes. He’s playful and would love a dog buddy who actually wants to romp and play with him. He likes kids and has not yet been tested with cats.On leash, Chai can be a bit of a puller, but with consistency and positive reinforcement (especially treats!), he should improve quickly. If you’re looking for a loyal, people-loving companion with brains, personality, and a big heart, Chai is your guy. Located in Houston, TX Transport available to most states for a $300 fee

Story
Bridge came to us from a rescue in Texas three years ago. He is a 6yo, 65lb, neutered, vaxxed, chipped and house-and-crate-trained Catahoula Leopard Dog. His guardians are moving into an assisted living facility which doesn't permit pets. "We have never re-homed a pet, and this decision is overwhelming us. Bridge is a loving companion, who obviously loves making us happy. But he deserves more, a young, active family who can spend time, training him, walking him and loving him. Bridge is anxious around strangers. There is a lot of activity in our community. He would benefit from a quieter environment or owners who could acclimate him to an active, family-oriented neighborhood. Bridge is good with our two grandchildren, frisky with our cat, but hasn't had a lot of exposure to other dogs while in our care."

Introducing Hondo, the loyal and brave companion you've been waiting for! Hondo is a true good boy, showcasing his friendly nature with both people and fellow furry friends. He strikes the perfect balance between confident and respectful, making him a wonderful addition to any household dynamic. While Hondo may be a bit head shy when it comes to leashes, it's a trait rooted in his past experiences - his ears once caused him discomfort. But with patience and understanding, he's slowly overcoming this challenge. This resilience highlights his adaptable nature and willingness to grow. Crate training is a breeze for Hondo, reflecting his cooperative spirit. He's well-versed in the art of sitting and enjoys eating a peaceful meal. These traits make him a joy to train and a promising companion for both new and experienced pet owners. Hondo's ideal home is one that's lively and active, as he thrives in an environment where he can stretch his legs and engage in the joyful act of running. With a strong recall foundation already in place, he's open to further fine-tuning this skill. This warrior-dog's name is music to his ears, and he responds to it with enthusiasm. Though his recall could use a bit more polish, his eagerness to learn shines through. Hondo's adaptable and resourceful nature, coupled with his receptive attitude, make him a loyal partner for all your adventures. If you're seeking a four-legged friend who embodies both resilience and companionship, look no further than Hondo. He's ready to stand by your side and show you the depths of his affectionate heart. Don't hesitate to welcome this valiant spirit into your home! Story
I have had so many chances in my young life. Seriously...I was found with four siblings at about 2.5 weeks old, dumped in a box at the post office... we were so, so sick and close to death. My rescue mom really worked hard to get us healthy and LIVE. And we did! About 6 weeks later, we all got parvo..... and my rescuer was able to nurse all of us out of it! All my siblings have been adopted, and I am ready too! I am somewhat shy and will take time to settle into my new family. But I will adjust. I am best with another dog, calm and confident, because I will mirror that energy. As a gorgeous catahoula/whippet mix, I have plenty of energy and I love to play! Fetch and chase games are my favorite . I am adoptable in Texas, I need to meet my family and you need to meet me! Local adoption fee is $250 (in TX)
