Story
Current Location: Midlothian, VA MEET Jonesy! A SWEET LOW ENERGY BOY! I'm a sweet chill boy that lives for love, affection and belly rubs. I am not pushy! I'm not the one jumping up demanding your attention. I'm waiting quietly to put my head in your lap and thank you with gentle kisses. I'm a gentle, sensitive soul. ✨ Housetrained ✨ Crate-trained ✨ Good with dogs ✨ Good with cats ✨ Sweet, soft, and submissive I'm a little shy at first with new people and new environments. Once I feel safe, my sweet personality shines through. Because of my sensitive nature, I would do best with a confident dog friend to help show me the ropes in new situations. I love fluffy and squeaky toys and enjoy a good game of tug a war with my dog sister. I love to hangout in the backyard. I'm not afraid to go out to potty in the rain, snow or when the neighbor is running the obnoxious leaf blower (like my foster sister). I prefer a quiet neighborhood in suburbia or rural setting with a fenced yard to do an occasional zoomie or chase the ball. I came north from a shelter in Alabama to find my forever family! Is that with you? If so please click “apply for adoption” or submit an application through the Adopt tab because this cuteness won't be around for long!

Story
Current Location: Front Royal, VA Meet Fuego Fuego is a one year old, 55 pound Catahoula Leopard Dog with a black and tan coat, an awesome smile, and a warm and happy energy once he is comfortable and knows he can be himself with people. Although initially shy, he is now loving, playful, and genuinely joyful in a way that makes every day with him feel like a good one. He has settled into foster life beautifully. His favorite things include snuggling with his people, napping by the door in a patch of sunshine, exploring the backyard at his own curious pace, playing with other dogs, and working his way through every toy he can find. He is the kind of dog who is happy whether the day is an adventure or a quiet one, as long as his people are nearby. Fuego is not a crate fan and made that opinion known on night one in the most decisive way possible. He has since found his perfect sleeping arrangement at the foot of the bed in his own dog bed, where he spends the entire night quietly and contentedly. Some dogs simply know what works for them and Fuego is one of them. He loves going for walks and is doing wonderfully getting comfortable with the sights and sounds of the neighborhood, kids on scooters and bikes, baby strollers, and all the general business of the world outside. He has firmly established that squirrel chasing is not on the agenda, a house rule he and his foster mom have come to a mutual understanding about. He is great in the car, equally happy stretched out across the backseat or sitting up to watch the world go by out the window like the curious and content boy he is. Although Fuego looks forward to adventures with his foster family, he is cautious and timid meeting new people. He is looking for a forever home that understands he is still learning to trust and just needs a little patience until he is comfortable. He has had no accidents in the house and appears to be house trained, which is just one more thing to love about him

Story
Rosie is a 3-year-old, 32 lb Catahoula Shepherd mix with a gentle, sensitive nature and a very sweet heart. She bonds deeply with her people and thrives in a calm, patient environment where she can feel safe and build confidence at her own pace. She can be timid at first—especially around men and young children—and may need time to warm up. Once she feels secure, she is affectionate, calm, and very loving. She also has some separation anxiety, which reflects how strongly she connects to her person. Rosie does well with other dogs and would likely benefit from a confident dog companion. She is comfortable around farm animals, has little to no prey drive, walks nicely on a leash, and enjoys car rides. She would do best in a quieter home without young children, with someone who understands sensitive dogs and can offer consistency, patience, and reassurance as she continues to grow in confidence. She’s a really special dog who just needs the right environment to thrive.
