Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Douglas — our 72-lb Gentle Giant with a Baby’s Heart Douglas is estimated to be about 1.5–2 years old, and he’s every bit the sweetheart his soft eyes promise. He gets along wonderfully with all dogs, carries himself with calm confidence, and melts the moment you give him attention. This big boy loves nothing more than resting his head on your chest like an oversized baby who just wants to feel close. He listens beautifully, learns quickly, and is already well on his way with potty training. He’s also fully crate trained — he settles in quietly and sleeps through the night without a peep. Douglas is loyal, loving, and ready for a home where he can be someone’s big shadow and best friend. Whoever adopts him will be getting a treasure. Thank you for checking out our wonderful orphans. If you would like to find out more please email or call Diane at...diane@ulpr.org or 870-577-3744.   Please email us at  diane@ulpr.org  and request an application.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 4, 2025, 12:20 am

Story
Introducing Alex! 🐾😍 This adorable girl will melt your heart the instant you meet her. With her gorgeous, bright blue eyes and the sweetest little face, Alex is as beautiful as she is loving. She’s a 1.5-year-old Catahoula Leopard Dog/Doberman mix who’s full of affection, personality, and charm. Alex is a total cuddlebug — she loves to snuggle up close and thinks the best place to sleep is right in bed with her people. She’s playful and has a bright, lively spirit with plenty of energy to keep up with an active family or adventure-loving person. She absolutely loves going for walks and gets so excited the moment she sees her leash! She’s friendly and social, gets along great with other dogs, loves her feline companions in her foster home, and is wonderful with kids as well. Alex is also one smart cookie — she’s crate trained, housebroken, spayed, and up to date on all vaccinations. Between her her loving nature, and her joyful personality, Alex is truly irresistible. She’s ready to find her forever family and fill their lives with endless love, laughter, and adventure ❤️ RPACI is a non profit rescue, and currently possess our 501C3 to operate as such. Story
Meet Star! 🌟 Star is a 4-year-old Catahoula/Hound mix with a heart every bit as big as her personality. This girl has been through more than most dogs ever should - she was shot, and the bullet went through her jaw and ear. She underwent jaw surgery, and as a result, her tongue now hangs out permanently. But Star doesn’t let her past define her. She is pure resilience wrapped in sweetness. Star is incredibly affectionate and so happy-natured. She loves to run, explore, and play, but she also knows how to wind down and melt into you for snuggles - the perfect balance of fun and companionship. She does wonderfully with kids and gets along beautifully with other dogs, but would do best in a feline-free home as her instints may lead her to chase. She enjoys car rides and would make a wonderful adventure buddy for someone who wants a loyal co-pilot by their side. She’s very smart, already knows “sit,” and uses the doggie door like a total pro. Star is spayed, fully vaccinated, and ready to find the family who will love her for the amazing, one-of-a-kind girl she is. If you’re looking for a dog with a beautiful soul and an even more beautiful spirit, Star is your girl. 💛🐾 RPACI is a non profit rescue, and currently possess our 501C3 to operate as such. Story
*SPECIAL NEEDS - PLEASE READ FULL BIO* Celyn! Celyn joined us on December 30, 2023, and we were thrilled to ring in the new year with her. We hoped her stay would be short, but sadly, this sweet girl has been waiting almost 9 months for her forever home. Celyn is a unique and special pup—she’s deaf and partially blind, which sadly causes her to be overlooked time and time again. 💔 ✨ Age: 1 year old 🤫 Weight: About 45 lbs—truly the perfect size! 🐶 Breed: Catahoula Mix (or as we like to call her, a Spotted Secret Keeper) 👃 Special Abilities: SUPER Scenter! Celyn can sniff out anything—her favorite volunteers, a meal, or treats on the way. She may not hear with her ears, but she hears with her heart. ❤️ 🏃‍♀️ Dreams: Celyn wants to run track in the 2028 Paralympics! We haven’t told her yet that the Olympics are only for humans. 🤫 ⚡ Activity Level: Pretty high—she loves to run in the play yard and zoom around with her doggy friends. 🧸 Toys: BIG fan! She’s happy tossing toys to herself or playing with friends. 🍖 Treats: Treats are life! 🥾 Love hiking? So does Celyn! Her disabilities don’t slow her down—she enjoys long hikes with her active volunteer buddies. 💬 Need a secret keeper? Celyn’s your girl. She can’t hear your secrets, so she’ll never spill them! 🐱 Cats? She hasn’t been tested, but we’re happy to try if someone applies for her! 🐕 Dogs? Celyn is a social butterfly and loves her dog pals. 👧 Kids? She does amazing at events and loves meeting kids of all ages! She might get a little in your bubble while sniffing everyone out, though. 🏡 Ideal Family? Active, patient, and excited to train a special-needs dog. Even though Celyn is focused on her Olympic dreams, she will need her family to also be willing to train her as well. Deaf dogs are amazing creatures and are easily trained, often with things like hand signals and other training techniques. Obviously even more care than usual should be taken to make sure she does not accidentally get out off leash as she cannot hear you calling her back and can't hear dangers like cars coming. She may also be partially visually impaired. She does so well, it is really hard to tell! For the boring stuff: Celyn is crate trained and has been working hard on her housebreaking. She prefers going potty off-leash and would benefit from having a yard where she can roam and find some privacy for her bathroom breaks. 🚽 We all need a little alone time, right? She’s been sniffing for her forever family for far too long. This sweet girl is ready to find her home and start her journey to the 2028 Olympics in LA. 😉 Celyn's adoption fee includes her spay, age appropriate vaccinations and microchipping. She is up to date on deworming and preventatives. Interested in Celyn? Story
adoption donation : $599 weight 38lbs Age 6 months       Charlie is a sweet and friendly girl who loves everyone she meets. She was found abandoned at a truckstop in a rural part of Mississippi and luckily rescued by Wags. At the rescue, she is having a blast running and playing with all the dogs, she just loves other pups! In the house, she is mellow and chill and loves to follow her Foster Mom around.  Charlie has been spayed and vaccinated and is ready to travel to the northeast as soon as the weekend of August 9th. Charlie is housebroken at Wags but like any rescue pup will likely need some training as she adjusts to a new home. She has beautiful and appeared to be a Catahola Leopard dog, very common in Mississippi and known to be very smart and loving dogs. Charlie is just the best, she will  make a wonderful  member of the family.    Adoption donations are the only source of funding for the rescue. Adoption fee includes the transport from Mississippi, vaccines, microchip and spay and neuter. Most of our dogs are in Mississippi and come up by Transport, dogs are listed along the Transport route or in an area where we may have volunteers who can help transport the dogs. We do have some of our dogs in foster homes in the northeast, we always need foster homes! For more information on adopting any of our Wags dogs please email mariaeftimiades@yahoo.com      July 24, 2025, 7:42 am
