Story
Eliza and Rhetta,  her sibling, were found on the side of the road in Mississippi and were rescued and bottle fed.  Potential adopters should be prepared for a medium/large, active adult dog.  Gets along very well with other dogs, respectful of cats.   Eliza- 22 lbs and approx 4 months. Catahoula leopard dog mix (best guess). Treat motivated for easy training. Shy in unfamiliar surroundings, meeting strangers is a breeze as she loves people big and small.  Is social with dogs, very submissive to other dogs.  Curious with cats and chickens. No food or toy aggression. Anticipate a larger dog when full grown , loves to be active and the outdoors! Sleeping in the crate at night without issue, almost fully house trained and needs someone ready to work with her to build confidence on leash walking in new places.  UTD on vaccines and preventatives. Loves to snuggle. Very food motivated and is easy to train, already knows sit! Interested in Rhetta? Adoption fee is $350 plus $150 spay deposit Apply here: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FHPA/DogApril 25, 2024, 5:03 pm

Story
Rhetta and her sibling were found on the side of the road in Mississippi and were rescued and bottle fed.  Rhetta- 27lbs and approx 3 months old. UTD on vaccines, preventatives. Playful and smart, very treat motivated making training a breeze! Walking on the leash, crate trained, ALMOST fully house trained.  Plays fetch, will bring the tennis ball back! Social and respectful with all the pups she has met including the 3 resident dogs.  Curious when it comes to cats and chickens. Loves children, men, women and all strangers(it’s like she’s known you all her life!) No food or toy aggression. Catahoula leopard dog mix is the best guess, anticipate a larger pup when fully grown.  Curious and energetic, loves to be with her people and very adventurous! This type of dog can range in size so potential adopters should be prepared for a medium/large and active dog.   Interested in Rhetta? Story
Hello, I'm Ginny! I'm a young girl with a lot of energy! I was found as a stray so my friends here don't have any background information on me. What they do know is that I'm still a puppy! I'm a really sweet girl that loves attention. I'm still learning manners but I love treats so with some patience and training I will learn easily. Ideally, I would love a family that has time to train and socialize me so I can grow up being the best girl! I love playing with toys and zooming around, a family that can help me get my energy out would be perfect. I could live with other dogs, kids, and potentially cats but I may try to chase and play with them. If you think I may be the one for you, give my friends here a call so you can come meet me! Story
*SPECIAL NEEDS - PLEASE READ FULL BIO* Celyn! Celyn is an approx 4-5 mth old medium sized mixed breed. We have no idea exactly what her mix is but an educated guess is there is at least some catahoula leopard mix in there. We always struggle with labeling a deaf dog as special needs because according to Celyn, and anyone who knows her, she is just a typical happy puppy. The only difference is she can't hear when a dog barks at her to play more ;) Deaf dogs are amazing creatures and are easily trained, often with things like hand signals. Obviously even more care than usual should be taken to make sure she does not accidentally get out off leash as she cannot hear you calling her back and can't hear dangers like cars coming. She may also be partially visually impaired. She does so well, it is really hard to tell! Celyn is super friendly with everyone. She loves people and she loves dogs. She will need a family willing to continue to work with her on housebreaking and basic manners. Celyn's adoption fee includes her spay, age appropriate vaccinations and microchipping. She is up to date on deworming and preventatives. Interested in Celyn? Please complete an online adoption application at www.dogtownrescue.org
