Story
Hello, I'm Ginny! I'm a young girl with a lot of energy! I was found as a stray so my friends here don't have any background information on me. What they do know is that I'm still a puppy! I'm a really sweet girl that loves attention. I'm still learning manners but I love treats so with some patience and training I will learn easily. Ideally, I would love a family that has time to train and socialize me so I can grow up being the best girl! I love playing with toys and zooming around, a family that can help me get my energy out would be perfect. I could live with other dogs, kids, and potentially cats but I may try to chase and play with them. If you think I may be the one for you, give my friends here a call so you can come meet me! Story
Introducing the Avatar pups! This litter of 8 are each a little different yet all incredibly adorable. There are 3 males and 5 females. They are guessed to be Lab/Catahoula mixes and I'm sure something else we are unaware of as we do not know either parent. Again, this is a best guess, not a guarantee. They are about 14 weeks old, up to date with age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped, and having a blast in their foster home romping around with their siblings, visitors, as well as the resident dogs and cats. Azula weighed 15lb 7oz on 4/29. All of our puppies are fostered in private residences so an approved application is required in order to arrange a visit at their foster home. ~ If you would like to submit an application for possible approval please email pupresq@gmail.com to request an application be emailed to you ~ Puppies require a lot of time for housebreaking, training, and proper socialization ~ It is in the puppies best interest that they be adopted to families where someone will be home/available most of the day ~ Thank you for your understanding!!

*SPECIAL NEEDS - PLEASE READ FULL BIO* Celyn! Celyn is an approx 4-5 mth old medium sized mixed breed. We have no idea exactly what her mix is but an educated guess is there is at least some catahoula leopard mix in there. We always struggle with labeling a deaf dog as special needs because according to Celyn, and anyone who knows her, she is just a typical happy puppy. The only difference is she can't hear when a dog barks at her to play more ;) Deaf dogs are amazing creatures and are easily trained, often with things like hand signals. Obviously even more care than usual should be taken to make sure she does not accidentally get out off leash as she cannot hear you calling her back and can't hear dangers like cars coming. She may also be partially visually impaired. She does so well, it is really hard to tell! Celyn is super friendly with everyone. She loves people and she loves dogs. She will need a family willing to continue to work with her on housebreaking and basic manners. Celyn's adoption fee includes her spay, age appropriate vaccinations and microchipping. She is up to date on deworming and preventatives. Interested in Celyn? Please complete an online adoption application at www.dogtownrescue.org

Story
Rhetta and her sibling were found on the side of the road in Mississippi and were rescued and bottle fed.  Rhetta- 27lbs and approx 3 months old. UTD on vaccines, preventatives. Playful and smart, very treat motivated making training a breeze! Walking on the leash, crate trained, ALMOST fully house trained.  Plays fetch, will bring the tennis ball back! Social and respectful with all the pups she has met including the 3 resident dogs.  Curious when it comes to cats and chickens. Loves children, men, women and all strangers(it’s like she’s known you all her life!) No food or toy aggression. Catahoula leopard dog mix is the best guess, anticipate a larger pup when fully grown.  Curious and energetic, loves to be with her people and very adventurous! This type of dog can range in size so potential adopters should be prepared for a medium/large and active dog.   Interested in Rhetta? Adoption fee is $350 plus $150 spay deposit Apply here: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FHPA/DogMay 5, 2024, 10:03 am

Story
We saw sweet Ginny on Facebook. She was a stray that ended up in a high kill shelter in Virginia. Shortly after she arrived she gave birth to 4 puppies. The shelter had no idea that she was pregnant because she was nothing but skin and bones. We knew we somehow had to get her here to Tennessee so we put our thinking caps on and a lot of wonderful volunteers drove her to our pick up spot in southern VA where our regular transporter picked her and the babies up on his way back to Nashville. We met them in Nashville at 1 AM and drove the family 100 miles back to the rescue. We knew Ginny was young, possibly still a pup herself and our vet confirmed that she was only 11 months at the time of the puppy's birth. Her pups have all been adopted and now it's Ginny's turn! Walker Hounds are very high energy dogs and can be a little stubborn so make sure you research the breed before you make the choice to adopt. We insist on a fenced yard for her so she can have room to free run and enjoy the rest of her life. These dogs are the number one dumped off breed as their owners will desert them if they don't hunt the way they want them too! We have several of them here at the rescue for that very reason. They are fun loving couch potatoes and will bring you many years of joy and happiness! PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE LOCATED IN TENNESSEE AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MEET OUR PETS PRIOR TO ADOPTION! ADOPTION FEE $650

Story
My name is Winnie and I am anything but an 'old lady'.   I may be 7 years old and carrying a few extra pounds....63 to be exact, but I am a sharp cookie who is ready to help you drive around in your car and I will even stay quiet and not be a backseat driver.  I love car rides and I am ready to go at the drop of a hat.  I won't bore you with the rough circumstances I have come from.  What I really want to talk about with you is how sweet and loving and devoted I will be if you make me your girl.  You see, I am a breed that not a lot of people know to consider or go looking for.  I am a beautiful, mature, quiet Treeing Walker Coonhound.  When you look at the video attached to my post, you will see that I bark less than the girl dog who lives at the foster home permanently.  I say my say and I am brief.  I really know my house manners and I am just perfectly happy laying around in the kitchen if you are there, or the sofa if you are in the room, or even at the feet of my wonderful foster mom while she works in her home office.  I am the easiest companion dog you will ever find.  I am around two adorable children who are 10 years and younger.  I love them and they think I am pretty terrific too.  I have an idea.  If you are a retired couple and you want a walking buddy, then choose me!  If you want a dog that you can trust your grandchildren of any age, then choose me! If you want a calm, easy going dog that is not hyper or excessively fast energy, then choose me.  If you want a dog that you don't to groom like those designer purse dogs, then choose me because I can take a bath in the backyard when it is warm and I will love it.  And if you want a dog that will wag her tail with all the love and devotion that I have in my body, just to show you I am happy you are home, CHOOSE ME!  I want to live with people who like to sit in the Lazyboy and watch TV, people who walk around their yard and enjoy the beauty that God brings every Spring.  I want to belong to special people who love dogs and would never run them off with mean words.  I know there is someone out there who will love me just the way I am.  CHOOSE ME!  Write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.May 5, 2024, 3:15 pm

Story
Sweet Lynda Layne was found in a cornfield eating rotten moldy corn from the ground. She was nothing more than a skeleton with skin. She weighed 31 pounds, now she weighs 50 pounds! We have before pics upon request. She was depressed, starving and defeated, dumped by her owner, as is very common in the south. When a hound dog doesn't hunt the way their owner wants them to, they take them for "the ride". Lynda was one of the lucky ones, she was found by a wonderful lady who took her home and then posted her on Facebook. Of course the owner never came so we took her into the rescue. The first night she was here, she never left my side. She even went potty on the pee pads! She has never had an accident in the house and sleeps by my side every night. You won't find a sweeter more loving dog than Lynda! She is young and healthy. Crate trained, microchipped, fully vaccinated and heart worm negative. She desperately needs a loving home. Could that be you? PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE LOCATED IN TENNESSEE AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MEET OUR PETS PRIOR TO ADOPTION! ADOPTION FEE: $500
