Story
Holly is a 3 year old cavipoo, spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, heartworm negative, and on prevention. She uses a pee pad for her business but now that she is in foster care she is learning to go outside for potty breaks. Holly was a gift for an elderly couple to get them out and about more. Unfortunately the couples health is failing and Holly needs a new home. This little girl is 17# but could stand to shed a few pounds. She is a snuggle bug and oh so sweet. She is good with kids, dogs, and cats. Thank you for your interest in a Save a Stray pet. The first step is to complete an adoption application. https://www.saveastray.org/forms/form?formid=3635 Once the application is approved, a FaceTime will be set up for a virtual meet and greet. Since we are located in Mobile, AL, this will give you the opportunity to see the pet interact with other dogs, people, and see a bit of their personality. Transports leave every week alternating between the NE and the Great Lakes. We use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport.

What I'm looking for in a new home - An experienced dog owner who can deal with his adolescent behavior, is financially stable enough to care for his needs and well-being, and has a fenced backyard and sidewalks in their neighborhood. Adjectives to describe Sage - Affectionate, People-friendly, Curious, Dependent, Mischievous, PLAYFUL, Trainable, Stubborn, Smart, Vigilant, and Energetic. 2. Limitations: - Pulls on a leash when taking a walk. - Short attention span to cues (E.g., Off, Sit, Down, Wait, or Stay). - Submissive/excitement urination. 3. Behavioral Issues: - Jumping on people and couches. - Excessive barking when left alone for too long, sometimes at other dogs, and for attention. - Feels anxious when being alone and will do things such as messing with sleeping/crate area.

Story
Chiquis is a wonderful dog and I wish we could keep her, but I am offering her up for adoption because she deserves better attention than what she has been getting in the last few months. Because she is a senior, she spends most of her time sleeping. She needs to be taken out for bathroom walks at least four times per day, as she is not able to control her sphincters as well as she used to when she was younger. She has arthritis that she developed a long time ago after a surgery to reconstruct her back legs because a bigger dog attacked her while visiting friends. She walks just fine and sometimes even runs, but due to her age, she is going blind and also deaf. She needs a lot of tenderness which she gets from my children, including my toddler. They love her tremendously and tend to her whenever they can, but now they are rarely home and I am to max capacity. Chiquis needs owners who can commit more time to her during her senior years.
