Story
Meet Goober! A low-riding meatball, he adores attention, belly rubs, and snacks.
Goober is a worldclass snuggler and move-in ready for just about any household that's looking for a cuddlebug and endless laughs. He gets along well with cats, kids, and anyone else who wants to give him attention (or some fries). He likes playing with other dogs, although he doesn't want those dogs to get near his toys, chews, or food. He's also been known to try to convince other dogs to give him their lunch money (or actual lunch), so if he joins a family with another dog we'll need to make sure it's the right pairing. He's housetrained, walks nicely on a leash, loves a good car ride, and doesn't get into mischief when left home alone. He's extremely snuggly and will be more than happy to cuddle up with you on the couch or the bed. He would love to sleep in the bed with you, but he will sleep in his own bed.
Goober is a Chatty Cathy, but not in the way you might think. We're not talking barking - we're talking incredible Chewbacca sounds, like a small, fuzzy Wookiee greeting the dawn. He howls and chewbaccas for attention too (sometimes at 6 a.m., because love can’t wait). He also LOVES belly rubs and wiggles like a worm on his back to ask for them. He will start groaning and making funny noises when he gets them. And he has his own version of the zoomies, a little gallop where he runs up and down the hall chasing his humans.
We suspect Goober has achondroplasia (dwarfism), and his legs certainly tell a tale ~ severely bowed, elbows that don’t bend, and only one front ankle that really does the job. Despite all that, he moves at his own pace, still plays, still runs, and still manages to demand attention like any self-respecting small dog. He's happy to go for a ride in the stroller if you want a longer walk. If you'd like him to go up or down stairs, you may need to do some carrying, He can jump off the couch but not up onto it. However, he's good with going up the ramp to get onto the couch. He came in with a rough ear infection but it improved quickly with treatment. His forever family will need to keep an eye on his ears to be sure the issues don't recur.
