Old Yeller, is that a new trend? Old stuff made NEW?? Cause I am NOT old, although I am Yeller, a really pretty YELLER COLOR!!! :) I am a Yeller Chesapeake bay retriever/ YELLER lab mix, it is important for my new family to know about the Chesapeake bay breed. We can be very stubborn, smart and independent and I really like to be in charge, so my new family needs to be strong leaders too. I am a handsome bloke, with swirls of yellow and white all through my coat. I am very smart and very sweet. I can from a high kill shelter with no hope- Now I EXUDE hope!! And LOVE!!! I WAS heartworm positive but have already finished the treatment and am NEGATIVE and just stay on prevention for the rest of my life. I am good with other dogs, but really would be best in an only dog home, cause I want all the attention :) I LOVE MY people and I tend to take "control" of my home so have to have a couple of things... 1) STRONG leadership owner, 2) I have to have an owner who will be wiling to not let me meet everyone who visits.. I want to protect my home a little too much... and 3) I have to stay in the San Antonio/TX area so my rescue friends can keep close tabs on me and how i am doing :) I have been running and playing since I am safe, but really am a couch potato. Hey, I’m Jimbo! I’m a sweet and lovable guy who’s always ready for a hug. I absolutely love snuggling up with my favorite humans, and I might even make little chittering sounds with my teeth when I’m feeling extra cozy or excited. It’s just one of my cute quirks! I’m dog-friendly and get along great with my furry pals. I’m also VERY clever, verging on stubborn at times. I’ve also gone through professional training with one of our local training partners, which has helped me build great manners and show off just how smart I am. I’d love to keep learning even more neat stuff with my future person. With a medium energy level, I’m just as happy lounging around for cuddles as I am going for a walk or playing with my dog friends. If you’re looking for a smart, snuggly, and affectionate companion, I could be the one for you! I am currently located in Texas but am available for adoption in multiple states across the country. My out of state adoption fee is $750. This fee helps cover the cost of care while I was at the shelter AND the cost of transporting me home! This includes: spay/neuter, if unaltered upon intake. age-appropriate vaccinations during time in care. a registered microchip if unchipped upon intake. a heartworm test if over six months of age. current flea/tick prevention during time in care. 3(+) broad spectrum deworming treatment. any medical expenses while in care. a health certificate for travel. the cost of travel (drivers, gas, and vehicle maintenance if via our route, or up to $200 in crate rental fees if on another transporter’s route!) Every adoption through the SPCA of Brazoria County also come with a PetSmart adoption kit, and some coupons for PetCo! At first, she approaches carefully, low to the ground, but quickly starts acting cute and wags her tail in welcome. * With Dogs: Is fine with other dogs, as long as she’s being supervised by a person. May get into fights with other dogs when left alone. May not get along with sensitive dogs. * With Cats: Hasn’t met any cats yet. * Separation Anxiety: Unclear, as she lives communally at our center. * Potty Training: Is currently living at our center and only goes potty outdoors. May need training from scratch in a home environment. * Hygiene: Likes people, so it’s easy to give her a bath or brush her if you hold her. * Walks: Received training at a training center so she matches her pace with her handler and is good at walking. * Sometimes barks when looking outside from inside the playground. .

Seeing her shivering in the cold wind, we decided to rescue her immediately to prevent potential exposure to infectious diseases at the shelter. 3⃣ Basic Information ❗ As a young puppy, she may need training in areas such as separation anxiety, potty habits, teething/biting, whining, disorderly behaviors, howling, and barking. Consistent training and patience are required. ❗ Since her parents are unknown, it is difficult to predict her shedding levels or final adult size. * With People: Is a bit shy at first but will cautiously approach to say hello. Adjusts quickly and is very friendly once she warms up. * With Dogs: Gets along well with other dogs. Tends to be on the calmer side when around her furry friends. * With Cats: Has not had any interactions with them yet. * Separation Anxiety: Unknown, as she is currently living in a group setting at our center. Training will be necessary once she moves into a home. * Potty Training: Unknown due to group living. Training will need to start from scratch in a home environment. * Hygiene: Unknown due to group living. Training and socialization for grooming are required. * Walks: Has no experience walking on a leash yet, as her vaccinations are not yet complete. * Car Sickness: Showed no symptoms during short-distance trips, but this will need further monitoring. * Unknown about biting due to group living. Training will be necessary once she is in a home environment.
