Sweet, itty-bitty Zuma came to us skinny, quivering, and lost. We scooped her up to give her a new chance at life! Now that she is gaining weight and confidence, we love seeing her personality start to shine through! She loves being around the other dogs, getting treats of any kind, and gentle pets. She is still working on being a brave lady and has started to slowly adjust to leash walking. Zuma will need someone with lots of patience and love.Zuma is a known runner due to her scared nature. She will require an experienced owner with a full fenced yard. It is also best that she join a household that has an existing dog as she bonds well with other dogs. She will require multiple meet and greets and home visits are part of her adoption as well.

Meet Junior, our small chi/terrier mix weighing in at just 12lbs. He's got the cutest, biggest ears. Junior came to us from local animal control and is looking for a forever home now! He seems to do best around more mellow, female dogs that are around his size. He's very sweet and enjoys walks. Junior is understandably nervous here and takes a bit to start warming up to new people. Once he's comfortable, he's a great little friend and enjoys playing and going for walks. Hi! My name is Bruce– If you answer yes to these questions, you and I  may be made for each other!  Do you love dogs that love their human (s)? Do you like to cuddle? Do you enjoy snack time? Do you do a happy dance when it’s mealtime? Do you enjoy going outside and getting some fresh air?   Well, those are some of my favorite things! Since I’ve been with my foster family, I’ve been pretty good at being a happy, small, cuddly dog. I currently live with 4 doggy brothers, and I like them all and get along with them just fine. I’m smaller than they are, but I don't mind. I’m very good at being inside the home with humans. I enjoy sitting on their lap if they’re working on their computers or if they’re on the couch, I love to sit next to them and rest my head or entire body on them. Doing that makes me feel safe and loved. I’m also smart and good at these things: -I know “sit” and will do it so I can get my treats and meals -I walk well on leash and enjoy short walks around my neighborhood -I’m also pretty good at going potty outside  - I’m good at sleeping inside my crate at night and whenever my humans have to leave the house   I love the humans I live with so much that meeting new ones is challenging, so I may have to meet you a couple times so you know that I’m good little guy, just need time to know that new humans are also good!   The adoption fee for Bruce is $300 this helps to cover veterinary expenses including spay/neuter, microchip and vaccinations.   Wish Upon a Rescue is a 501(c)3 non-profit, foster based animal rescue. Hi there my name is Huey and I am a Chihuahua/Schnauzer/Terrier mix about 3 years old. As you can see I am the cutest thing ever-at least that's what my foster mom tells me. All of her friends just can't get enough of her posts that show my charm and silliness. I was a stray and found by animal control. I had a little stay with them but was passed over as I am afraid of people initially and will bark and growl. I need a little time to trust and build a bond, someone wanting to pet me needs to understand they have to wait so I can see they are a good person and that I can trust them, doesn't take long but I need that time. I am not one of those dog park dogs since it takes me a couple times to meet people/and dogs to show I am a great pup. I am not a barker, however when I hear noise and don't know what it is just like any other dog I will bark at it, so probably not a good fit for an apartment. I am looking for a home with a dog sibling for me to play with. I need one that is playful and who will put me in my place, I do well with my current foster siblings. I also am looking for a fenced yard to run and play. No children as I am afraid initially of people and little ones might be too much for me. Both girls were very well loved and cherished pets but didn't have much exposure to people or environments outside of their own. Because of this they are scared with new people and in new situations and are looking for an adopter who will allow them the space and time to build trust. Once they trust you, they are super lovey and cuddly. They were trained to potty on pee pads and are not used to going outside- which is great for these Chicago weathers! Due to her delicate frame and fearfulness, we would like to see them in an all-adult home. The adoption donation of $500 for Omega and Alpha as a pair helps to cover their medical care. Application, reference checks, and home visit required. Adopters must live 1.5 hours driving distance from Romeoville, IL.
