You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. My name is Vin Diesel and I'm a senior, male chihuahua.  I just had a dental so my teeth are in pretty okay shape now.  I'm great with other dogs and cats and also respectful kids.  I'm of course hoping to enjoy my retirement ages in a calmer home though.  I walk very well on a leash and love going for car rides.  I'm also potty trained and know my basic commands.  I have great manners and would make an amazing addition to most households.  I'm fixed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $400 To adopt Vin Diesel, fill out an application at www.kakf.org/formsVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 13, 2025, 1:53 pm

Story
Meet Lily — a 2-year-old Terrier mix with a heart full of sweetness and a bright future ahead! When Lily first arrived at her foster home, everything was new and a little overwhelming. She preferred the comfort of her crate and needed some encouragement to feel safe. With gentle patience, hand-fed meals, cozy carries to the yard, and lots of soft ear rubs, Lily slowly began to trust. Before long she was eating, drinking, and exploring on her own — and once she started going outside regularly, she hasn’t had a single accident in the house. Leashes were also a brand-new concept for her, but a few tasty chicken treats and lots of practice worked wonders! Now she enjoys going out on a long lead in the yard or taking relaxed walks around the neighborhood like a little pro. Just two weeks after settling in, Lily surprised everyone by giving birth to five beautiful puppies. She was a wonderful, devoted mama, but with her pups growing big and independent, Lily is finally ready for a life that’s all her own. Today, Lily is blossoming into a fun, affectionate, silly young dog. She loves: Playing with soft toys and chew toys Zooming around the house Wrestling and running with her foster brother Going for walks Sneaking off with the occasional sock (her guilty pleasure!) She knows how to sit for treats and sits patiently to have her harness put on. During the day she curls up next to her foster mom for naps, and at night she snoozes soundly on a comfy chair in her cozy gated room. Her breed mix is a mystery, though a dog-ID app suggested she resembles a Danish-Swedish Farmdog. Whatever she is, she’s adorable — especially those velvety ears that perk up like Baby Yoda when something interesting catches her attention. If you’re looking for a small, gentle, intelligent, and incredibly sweet companion, Lily just might be your girl. She’s ready for love, adventure, and a forever family who will help her continue to shine. Could Lily be your new best friend?   If you are interested in adopting/meeting this pup , please complete our online adoption application that you can find here: https://www.starfishanimalrescue.com/adopt/dog-adoption-application  . Story
Meet Benny — the little lovebug everyone falls for the moment they meet him! Born on 10/26, Benny is a Chihuahua–Terrier mix who weighed in at 3 lbs 14 oz this morning. His beautiful brown-and-white coat and big, soulful brown eyes make him a total heart-stealer. Benny is the softest spirit of the trio. When he’s awake, he’s playful and curious, but he’s also the king of cozy naps. His favorite place to sleep? Snuggled right up against anyone — humans, adult dogs, siblings… he’s not picky as long as he’s wrapped in warmth. He melts into your arms, drifts off on your lap, and happily snoozes tucked under a furry friend. He’s truly a snuggle bug through and through — a little sweetheart who just wants to be close. If you’re looking for a gentle, cuddly companion who will shower your home with sweetness (and naps!), Benny might be the perfect match for you. Story
Meet Bear (aka Brochacho)!  This adorable 2-year-old, 8-lb terrier/chihuahua mix is as sweet and loving as they come! Bear is a total people pup — he wants nothing more than to be where his humans are. Whether that means curling up in your lap for snuggles or napping in a cozy bed nearby while you cook, Bear just wants to be part of the family. He’s house-trained and goes potty outside like a champ. At night, he sleeps peacefully in his crate without a peep. Bear does wear a belly band to discourage marking, but after three weeks in his foster home, he’s made fantastic progress and rarely even tries. This happy little guy is full of love and joy, always ready with tail wags and affection. Bear would be the perfect addition to almost any home — one that’s ready to give him the love and companionship he so happily gives in retur If you are interested in adopting/meeting this pup , please complete our online adoption application that you can find here: https://www.starfishanimalrescue.com/adopt/dog-adoption-application  . Story
Meet Kirby — a tiny 8-lb chihuahua mix with a big heart that needs time to bloom. At 5 years old, Kirby is a gentle, sensitive soul who is still learning that the world can be a safe and loving place. He arrived very scared, and new people, sounds, and environments can feel overwhelming for him. But underneath that worry is a sweet little boy who wants to trust — he just needs the right family to help him get there. Kirby will thrive in a quiet, calm home with someone who understands that progress comes in small steps. He’ll need a patient family willing to let him open up at his own pace, offering soft voices, slow movements, and lots of reassurance. When he feels safe, his personality begins to peek through, and it’s such a gift to watch him make those brave little moments of connection. He does very well with other dogs and might even benefit from having a confident canine friend to show him the ropes. Because of his timid nature and tiny size, we are looking for an adult-only home for him. If you’re the kind of person who finds joy in helping a fearful dog learn to trust — if you’re gentle, patient, and willing to let Kirby set the pace — he could become an incredibly loyal and loving companion.   If you are interested in adopting/meeting this pup , please complete our online adoption application that you can find here: https://www.starfishanimalrescue.com/adopt/dog-adoption-application  .
