This little guy will break your heart, then crawl right into it. Sunny was found as a stray, thin and obviously not well cared for. His teeth were so bad that he didn’t want to be touched. He was in so much pain. Out vet took a chest x-ray to look at the condition of his heart and discovered he had been shot with a BB. When he first arrived at FLFO, he was reluctant to come near anyone. But we could tell he wanted to be loved. Once the bad teeth were removed and the infection treated, he’s now a complete lovebug. He wants to snuggle next to you and be held. The shelter estimated he was 16 years old based on his physical condition, but we think he’s younger. We’re estimating him to be around 12. Sunny loves long walks and has great stamina. FLFO requires a home visit therefore adopters must be within 40 miles of Baldwin MD.

Super duper small breed alerts!! Rough and tough and…. Ha who are we kidding. These babies are everything but that. Whitney – 1 year old – female – 5.6 lbs – Fully grown – Darker color Glimmer – 1 year old – female – 5.0 lbs – Fully grown – All white Tofu – 10 weeks old – female – 3.0 lbs – Glimmers puppy – All white Mist – 10 weeks old – male – 5.5 lbs – Glimmers Puppy – All white These furry babies came from a hoarding situation where they were not well taken care of. Thanks to a foster of ours, we were able to help these 4 babies out of that situation, into a temporary, loving foster home. Are they all good with other dogs? YES! They came from a house with 20+ dogs and they get along great with the current foster’s dogs’ Are they good with cats? Yes! Cats are all bigger than they are. Kids? The puppies would be wonderful with children. The adults are a bit shy at first but come around and are very sweet Do they bark? Only when they’re super playful or see dogs/cats they don’t know yet. They do not bark at just the air, like some are known for House trained? Mist and Tofu are not house trained. Glimmer and Whitney are working on crate training. Will do great with one-on-one time and patience. They all love being held, it makes them feel safe. Mist and Tofu love playing with toys and are quite outgoing. All four have a habit of taking blankets from the others dog’s crates and trying to hoard them for themselves. Be aware of the blanket thieves! Whitney and Glimmers ideal home would be one that is patient, kind and has another dog for them to help them gain confidence. If there are no other dogs in the home, someone that is home and willing to socialize with them properly to ensure they continue to thrive and come out of their shells. They would do great with gentle, older children. Tofu and Mist are only puppies and would thrive in a home that is a bit more active. These puppies may be small, but they are mighty. They love to play with their toys and run around. They are not shy babies. We don’t believe these pups will get over 10 lbs, especially since mom is only 5 lbs! Adoption Fee Includes: Whitney/Glimmer – Spayed, current on annual vaccinations (Bordatella, rabies, parvo/distemper), heart worm negative, current on flea/tick and heart worm prevention, dewormed, microchipped and includes transport cost from Texas to the East Coast. Story
MIMI is a sweet and spunky 12 year old Chihuahua in need of a forever home so she can be comfortable and spoiled in her senior years.  Mimi came to our shelter after her family of 12 years was unfortunately uprooted and unable to take her with them.  Mimi is initially timid around new people and seems to like women more than men (although she loved her dad who handed her over to us and he loved her). Given time she will gain trust and become much more outgoing.  Mimi gets very attached to “her person” and wants to be held and loved, her favorite place to be is on her persons lap.  Mimi is also independent and will snuggle on her bed and not complain if she can’t be held.  Mimi is still active and loves to explore the backyard with her foster brother and sister (both large dogs).  She gets along well with dogs and cats and had a dog companion in her former home.  Mimi also loves walks and gets very excited when she sees her leash.  Mimi is housebroken and will run to the door and let you know when she needs to go out.  At her foster home, Mimi likes to have her bed in her crate for a “safe place” away from the other dogs.  Mimi has been seen by an ophthalmologist for cataracts. The lens in her right eye has a mature cataract and a luxated lens but is not painful. Her left eye has a cataract also. Mimi is very good about getting her eye drops (2 different drops to keep her comfortable and to keep her condition from progressing). She will need to be on these eyedrop for life and will need an annual visit with the eye doctor. Mimi's bloodwork at intake looked good and her heart is strong and healthy. Mimi will be spayed prior to adoption. she is doing well on a Farmer's Dog type of diet. Adoption fee is reduced because we know you will have expenses down the road ($200).
