We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit that rescues and places homeless, neglected or abused dogs from high-kill shelters in the south into loving, responsible committed and permanent homes. We feel our comprehensive adoption process which includes not only taking the time to match the dog to the prospective new owner but helping to educate that owner in responsible dog care, allows us to find the best homes for our little buddies and the best companions for you! Each week we use USDA certified transports to bring dogs from high-kill shelters in the south to our fosters where they all receive the appropriate medical care and are placed in nurturing loving homes while they await placement in their forever homes. Interested in one of our dogs? Great! Now that you've seen them here you'll need to go to our website where you'll find our list of adoptable dogs (updated every week). Then, it's just a simple process of finding a dog you're interested in and filling out an application on our site. Once we receive your application, whoever is fostering that particular dog will contact you and do a short over the phone interview to complete your application process. If everything works out, they will set an appointment with you so come out and "visit" with the dog you're interested in (we want to make sure that not only are you a good fit for the dog but that the dog will fit with you). If everything works out, you'll be able to take rover (or spot, or jax) home with you that very day. A couple of things you should know: We can't hold dogs over the phone or via email. Adoption fees vary based on breed. All of our dogs have been vet checked and dewormed (if possible due to age, additional treatment may be needed). What a wonderful little Chihuahua boy our Jupiter is and up . This dear gentle boy is 7 years old and only 8 lbs. He is just the perfect lap boy! As gentle as he is looks with his piercing dark brown eyes and his easy way of becoming your friends. He is a soft soul that is a little unsure of himself in life. He has been treated badly in the past and we are here to change the path of his life and make it one of security and love. He is housebroken and crate trained and loves to curl up in his little dog bed and sleep after a nice play session. He acts much younger than his 7 years. He is around many other dogs and fits in like a glove, like he has always been there. Please consider giving this boy the next and best 10 years of his life. He's great with kids and is good with other dogs, but he does not get along with cats. You might even say that her eyes are the only things about her that arenâÂÂt little!
