Story
Winky and her siblings Harry (male) and Hermione (female) just arrived from Texas with their mom Bubbles. The puppies are 5 months old and range in weight from 10-20lbs. Bubbles (their mom) is a rottweiler mix, dad is a chihuahua. Surrendered as a family, each dog showed signs of starvation, their teeth stained, and their feet are slightly upswept (kept in a kennel that was too small for them). Winky is 10lbs. She is the most timid of her siblings and may try to hide behind them at first but give her 2 minutes and she is your new best friend.. Application here: https://tinyurl.com/TLCdogapp Adoption radius 60 miles from zipcode 20906. We do not promote any of our dogs as house trained or allergy friendly

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.NOTE- MIDNIGHT IS LISTED AS A COURTESY FOR ANOTHER RESCUE ORGANIZATION.  PLEASE SEE CONTACT INFO BELOW.Hi! I’m Midnight, your future best friend. I’m known for my sweet nature and love for both dogs and cats. Curious and brave, I enjoy exploring every nook. Cuddling? Count me in! I’m perfect for snuggle sessions after a fun day, I love your lap!. I'm still mastering house training, but I’m eager to learn, especially with someone as patient as you. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion who will bring joy and laughter to your home, I’m your guy. Let’s start our adventure together! My adoption includes neuter, DHLPP, Rabies, and Bordetella vaccines, a microchip with registration, and parasite control. Please note I'm on a special diet, Hill's C/D, as I've had bladder stones in the past. I'll need to be on this diet full-time. I don't poo in the house, but I sometimes have pee accidents and need to potty frequently or be crated. I can also wear a peekeeper!Midnight is in a foster home near Staunton, VAPlease apply at https://highlandcountyhumanesociety.org/available-animals/540.468.1575info@highlandcountyhumanesociety.orgVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 28, 2026, 3:00 am

This adorable Chihuahua mix has one clear life goal, to be the best lapdog there has ever been and she’s well on her way. She’s incredibly friendly and believes that laps were specifically invented for her personal use. While Gwen gets along nicely with other dogs, she definitely prefers the calmer crowd. She appreciates peaceful companions who respect her boundaries and understand that life is best enjoyed at a cozy pace.     Gwen's gentle, loving personality makes her the perfect companion. She’s looking for a soft place to land, a kind heart to love, and a forever home where she can dedicate herself fully to her favorite job: being your shadow, your snuggle buddy, and your best friend. If your lap has been feeling a little empty lately, apply today and let little Gwen be your permanent lap warmer! Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.    Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/ or email our Foster Coordinator at foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSPONSOR ME! Help Save Lives!    Make a tax-deductible donation today and help save a life. Story
If you’ve been waiting for a little angel to walk into your life, Hailey may be the one.   At just 6 years old and 20 pounds, this precious Chihuahua mix girl is truly one of the sweetest souls we’ve ever had in foster care. Hailey lives to be by your side. Whether it’s cuddling on the couch, riding in the car, or strolling along on a leash, she is simply happiest when she’s with her people.   Hailey is a friend to everyone she meets and gets along beautifully with other dogs. She hasn’t been around cats, but with her gentle nature, we believe she could likely be a friend to them too. She walks nicely on a leash, making her a wonderful walking companion, and she absolutely loves a good car ride.   She is house-trained when taken out regularly and is fully crate-trained, though she shouldn’t be left alone for long hours. This little beauty thrives when her family is home most of the time. A fenced yard would make her especially happy since she does enjoy the outdoors.   Because we’re unsure about her experience with small children, a home with kids 8 years and older would be best. Hailey would be a dream for retirees, empty nesters, or anyone looking for a loyal, loving companion to brighten every single day.   If you’re seriously considering giving Hailey the forever chapter she deserves, please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com.She’s ready to love you for a lifetime.        PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comFebruary 26, 2026, 3:19 pm
