Story
Vince is still available! He came to rescue in really rough shape but is now healthy and happy!! Vince is very affectionate and loves to cuddle. He is a typical chi mix at 5yrs old. He will need a secure fence, he likes to escape but will come when called instead of doing the “catch me if you can” run. He does well with most dogs but again typical bossy chi. We probably recommend no cats. He's really a sweet boy and loves his humans. Please submit an application for consideration Www.4paws4rescue.comMay 3, 2024, 7:32 pm

Story
10/24/23 Yes, Toby is a Grumpy old man. But he doesn't require much attention. He's quiet in his exercise pen and likes to stroll around the fenced yard. He'll find a sunny spot to soak up some sun, and then he's ready to come back in and climb back in his bed. Toby is a Chihuahua/Rat Terrier mix, approximately 6 years old. He came to us from being saved off the streets of a big Texas town. Toby needs a home that can help him trust people. He doesn't really want to be handled but likes to observe from a safe space out of the reach of people. Toby craves the safety of his crate - he will go outside into the fenced yard when you open his crate door, and he comes back in when called and will hop in his crate. He does not appreciate hands in his crate, so if you need to pick him up, talking quietly to him in an area where he cannot hide, he will allow you to pick him up and accept a few skritches. He's black and white and weighs about 10 pounds. He gets along with all the other dogs here and will need a securely fenced yard and someone who will allow him to relax and be with you without needing much attention until he knows he's safe. Story
10/24/23 Rhianna is still here. Her heart murmur does not mean she can't love a family! Some dogs live long lives with this condition. Take a chance and adopt this girl. She deserves to be loved by her own family. Rhianna is the cutest little dog, and SHE LOVES MEN! She loves my husband, bouncing up the backs of his shins wanting attention. Rhianna is very vocal - I think a natural Chi trait. She bounces around underfoot so should be considered a tripping hazard. She has a tiny bladder, so she needs outside frequently or trained to use a potty pad, and she'll need a fenced yard as she's had no leash training. I can envision this little sweetie being carried around in a front pack, close to her owner's heart!

Story
*SPECIAL NEEDS - MENTALLY CHALLENGED*   Meet Money Penny!   She's 8 yrs old, 14 lbs, Chihuahua Mix. Penny is a Special Needs Dog. She was brought into rescue with 3 other dogs we believe were siblings.  We're not sure how she became this way, but vetting was done when she came to us last year stating that it's highly possible, she's inbred which usually causes various types of genetic issues. In Penny's case, physically she's fine. Her biggest issue is her mind/thoughts that noises are very very scary to her and makes her run back and forth in the home until she finds a quiet place to lay.  She does eat well, and she will take any type of food from your fingers if you want to give her treats. She does hang sometimes with the other dogs as seen in the photos. So having another dog in home may help her understand being a dog. Because she is a bit erratic in movement around house, she has not been taken outside because not sure how noises outside and the wide-open space would affect her and whether she will be controllable. She is potty pad trained 99% of the time. Sometimes during her erratic running around, she may potty just because of running. But 99% of the time she used potty pads. PENNY WOULD LOVE TO HAVE SOMEONE WHO WOULD JUST LET HER LIVE QUIETLY AND LEARN TO BE PART OF THE FAMILY. If you think you would like to make Penny part of your family, please fill out an Adoption Application and someone will call and talk to you about her personality.  She is a sweet dog but not sure if she will ever learn to do some normal dog things but we don't know.   If you are interested, complete the  Adoption Application  on our website at  www.NeedyPaws.org  and we will contact you.  Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO. Money’s adoption fee is $275.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip. We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter. Story
WE ARE A TX BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application found at haydudeequine.org Ernest - You are the bridge between what was and what will be, my pathway to a new life! Ernest Goes To Jail, yes, to my embarrassment and dismay, I was found as a stray and spent some time in the doggie slammer. It seemed like forever!! But thanks to this rescue I got out on good behavior and am ready for that freedom ride! Yes, Ernest Rides Again!!! I'm just hoping your home is my last ride!! I have been working on the whole house and crate training thing and have got it down. I may have spent most of my life outside but I've caught on quickly. I coming to see that this whole living inside with a soft bed and a warm lap to lay on is pretty darn nice!! I would do best in a quiet adult only home. I'm needing my space but will come seeking companionship when I want it. Kinda like a cat in that sense. I do well with other dogs but would prefer a more mellow sibling that isn't too bouncy and constantly in my space. At 9 years and only 11lbs I would make a great family addition for someone that is looking for a great lil guy to chill with them. I'm already out of that destructive stage but still enjoy neighborhood strolls and catching some rays in the backyard. If you're looking for that needy pup that is always under foot seeking you attention, I'm not your boy. But if you want an independent lil guy that is just happy being in the same room, I might just be that lil man!! I would love to be your lil side kick....so what do ya say? Can I come home with you?!!
