Story
Biscuit was surrendered to animal control after his owner was incarcerated. He is a small dog and on the alpha side. He does ok with other dogs that are female or submissive netuered males. He has alot of energy and loves to tell you if something is bothering him haha. He does have an old injury as he was hit by a car last year and his prior owner took him to the vet but refused to have his leg set/surgery done. It does not affect his ability to be himself nor does it cause him any pain, however he may get arthritis when he is older because of the injury. We feel he would do best in a home with older kiddos over 10 years and adults. He is unsure about cats but does tolerate them well.  ##2428829##

Story
Tapi is a sweet older gent around 8 years of age. He is ok with other dogs and unsure about cats. He would do best in a quiet home and we don't think he would do super with little kiddos so teenagers and up should be ok. He is very mild mannered and likes to do his own thing, but does also love attention. He just had a dental and lost most of his teeth, but does still have his molars so still eats hard food just fine. ##1384124##

Story
Little Tito was found wandering outside of a very small town in Northern Illinois during a very cold spell this winter. He was wearing a leash and collar but no one came forward to claim him and the men who found him asked all over and no one had ever seen him before! He was cold and tired and hungry and grouchy (I would have been too!). He is a little guy at just 7 lbs but he has the big personality to make up for his size. He is very shy of strangers. Once he trusts you (usually around 24 hrs time) he will be your forever buddy and shadow. He loves to be held and carried and give kisses. WE do not suggest him in a home with small kids as he will nip if he is scared/startled. He is good with other dogs his size but does prefer others to be subordinate to him or female. He is unsure about cats.  ##2336168##

Story
** SPECIAL NEEDS **  LEVEL 4 HEART MURMUR (NO MEDS YET) **  REQUIRES FENCED YARD **  NEEDS A COMPANION DOG ** EXPERIENCE WITH BREEDER TYPE DOGS IS A PLUS ** Meet 'Beans', an 8-1/2 yr old, 12 lb, Chihuahua Mix .  He's considered 'Special Needs' due to his Level 4 Heart Murmur, however, you wouldn't know it since he seems to be a happy little guy. He also has a 'cloudy eye' but still sees okay. Beans got some grooming in 1st pic. Beans came from a very bad situation that included bitten by tons of fleas and ticks and lost all their hair.  Beans' hair is coming back in quite well as you can see. He's housebroken and seems to ride well in a car curled up in a bed in the passenger seat. He is not leash trained so he requires a SECURE FENCED YARD.  Beans is a "climber" so fence should be vinyl or wood since he could climb chainlink. Beans is also a Very Good Escape Artist and Door Darter whenever door is open.  He will need a companion dog in the home to help him continue to thrive to be a great dog. If you are interested, complete the  Adoption Application  on our website at  www.NeedyPaws.org  and we will contact you.  Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO. Bean’s adoption fee is $295.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip. We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter. Story
WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org Meet Lucy – Tiny Thief, Big Heart 🐾💛 2 years old • 12 pounds of pure personality This little rascal is Lucy — and she may be small, but she’s packed full of sweetness, spunk, and just a dash of mischievous charm. Lucy came from a hoarding situation, so she’s still learning all about the good life most dogs take for granted — things like kind words, soft beds, gentle pets, and treats that don’t have to be shared with 50 of your closest canine neighbors. She’s discovering that being a dog can actually be pretty wonderful. At first, Lucy can be a little shy. New people and new places take her a bit of time to warm up to. But once she feels safe? Out comes the happy, goofy, secretly hilarious little girl hiding inside. She’s house trained, crate trained, and not food aggressive. On walks she’s more “sniff investigator” than marathon athlete — she doesn’t walk great on a leash... yet, because she’s too busy trying to smell every single leaf, blade of grass, and mysterious sidewalk crumb. Priorities! Lucy enjoys being outside, soaking up the sun, and observing the world from her favorite perch. She’s slowly gaining confidence in the house and has recently started exploring more on her own — a HUGE milestone for a girl who once didn’t know what home life even meant. She isn’t overly social with bigger dogs and would likely be happiest as an only dog or with calm dogs her own size. Loud, boisterous canine roommates can feel a little overwhelming to her. Now for the BEST part about Lucy… Lucy is a THIEF. 😄 Her foster brother Buddy leaves toys scattered everywhere, and Lucy has developed a top-secret operation. When Buddy isn’t looking, she sneaks off her perch, carefully steals one of his toys, and proudly carries it back to her spot like she just pulled off the heist of the century. No remorse. Just adorable criminal activity. And as if that wasn’t cute enough, Lucy has one more irresistible trick up her tiny sleeve — she does the SWEETEST little paw wave when she’s happy or asking for attention. It’s her signature move, and it’s basically impossible to resist. What Lucy needs most is a patient, gentle person or family who will give her the time she needs to feel safe and comfortable — without rushing her. She’s already come so far, and with a little more love and understanding, she’s going to blossom even more. Lucy is a very happy girl who is slowly learning how to just “be a dog.” And watching her discover joy, trust, and confidence is one of the most rewarding things ever. If you’re looking for a small companion with a tender heart, a silly streak, and a future career in toy theft, Lucy might just be your perfect match. Apply today at haydudeequine.org and let this tiny treasure warm up your world and put joy in your heart! 💛🐾
