Story
Anna is a 9 year old, 10lb adorable Chug (chihuahua/pug mix) who has endured some big human turmoil recently and ended up in a Middle Tennessee shelter. Not much is known of her history, but her underweight condition indicates at least some neglect took place. A really devoted foster mom for critter.Cavalry turquoise noticed her profile in the shelter and realize that being a senior she might not be chosen very easily by the general public.  This young foster woman is making sure that Anna is gaining much needed weight slowly.  She’s starting to put on weight and enjoys her meal times-with the occasional treat of whipped cream. While she is timid at first and a little wary of quick movements, it doesn’t take long for her to warm up and become your best snuggle buddy. Anna has some spunk and can run up stairs as fast as any puppy. She seems to be good with other dogs and initiates playing, though she doesn’t know what to do with toys. She does well on a leash and going outside. She is catching on to potty training (another example of her neglected past) and we are wanting someone who works from home or is retired as she does exhibit some separation anxiety in her first week with us.  She has found the cozy comforts of warm blankets and fluffy pillows and burrows underneath.  Anna has lots of love to give and deserves  a family to spoil her.   Please email ccrtennessee@gmail.com if you are interested.  PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comFebruary 18, 2025, 12:12 pm

Story
This gorgeous munchkin is a nugget of cuteness and is called Rollo, a small-ish mixed breed boy born at the beginning of January to a 12 pound long haired Chiweenie momma. At the moment, and at ten weeks of age, he is nine pounds, and so we estimate him to be headed to an adult weight of 25-30 pounds. Rollo has an unusual multi-colored nose and eyes that make him look like he is wearing eyeliner - he is truly unique.  What is immediate and obvious to see is that he has a very outgoing personality and loves everyone. Recently he participated in a puppy yoga class at the YMCA along with his siblings and several other puppies. Oh what fun he had running from person to person, keeping everyone entertained. After giving him this exposure, we can confidently say that he loves people, other dogs, and does well in unfamiliar situations. The class included men, women, children and unfamiliar puppies much larger than him. He did well with all. Rollo loves his toys and will gather them around him on his blanket next to the heating vent where he takes his naps. Rollo has a start on his potty training, consistently going to the same spot and using a potty mat by the door, completing his training should not be difficult.  Rollo will be up for any adventure you want to take him on and is ready to be your best buddy the last weekend of March.  He can transport northward on our transport van from Nashville.Tennessee, where we stop at different transport stops to the northeast.  Please write to us, add Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com  PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMarch 20, 2025, 12:57 am

Story
Introducing Vancelot, a small-ish mixed breed boy, born at the beginning of January to a long hair Chiweenie mom who was 12 pounds.   Vancelot is so handsome,  from his perfectly arched eyebrows to his eyes that make him look just like he is wearing eyeliner. His legs are a bit stubby so he is not going to be a tall guy but probably a bit low to the ground. We think we know who his dad was, and he was a habanese.Mix, along with the mom that had between short legs, too.  Vancelot is very friendly and loves to be the life of the party. He has participated in a puppy yoga class at the YMCA, along with his siblings and several other puppies. He had a blast running around making new friends. After giving him this exposure, we can confidently say that he loves people, other dogs, and does well in unfamiliar situations. The class included men, women, children and unfamiliar puppies much larger than him. He did well with everyone.  This munchkin loves to splash in his water dish, so we believe he would love to have some water activities in his life.  Perhaps this summer, a plastic kiddie pool would give him hours of fun to splash.  He has a start on his potty training, consistently going to the same spot and using a potty mat by the door, completing his training should not be difficult. We estimate his adult weight will be around 25-30 pounds.  If you are looking for a fun, happy-go-lucky companion to join your life, Vancelot is your guy!  Write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com. he is ready the last weekend of March, and he is fostered in Nashville, Tennessee and able to be transported northward  the last weekend of March.    PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMarch 16, 2025, 3:30 pm

Story
Joey Junior was rescued from bad living conditions. He was living mostly outside and has not been around many people and was therefore shy. After warming up in his foster home, he is now enjoying the company of other small dogs, treats, chin scratches and gentle head rubs. He enjoys sleeping in a little dog bed and as of now is not a lap dog/bed buddy type of small dog yet. We do not know what he thinks of cats. Joey prefers women and is not so much a fan of men - perhaps something that must have happened in his past. Prior to arriving at OSCAR, Joey had been known to scale a chain link fence so a close eye should be kept on him when in the yard (however since he has been with his foster, there have been no issues with this at all). Joey would do best in a quieter home due to his shyness. Joey Junior is just 4 years old and 12 pounds. Please help Joey find the loving home he deserves. Update: Joey had tested Lyme+ and has completed his course of antibiotic. He was a champ taking his pill everyday and is feeling/acting great. Joey is ready to go home! We do NOT ship our animals. All adoptive families must travel to us to meet their adoptive dog/cat. Applicants must live within a 2 hour radius from Sparta/Andover (07871/07821). Story
Let's Welcome Chapo into the rescue.... His background is sad. Chapo an 8 year old unaltered Chihuahua was recently surrendered to the rescue. We knew he was coming in with some medical issues, but we were not ready for what we uncovered. Chapo was extremely skinny when surrendered, we were told he was having some teeth issues and wasent able to eat much. We quickly discovered there is more to that story.... Chapo is definitely hungry, he asks for food and water multiple times a day. We feed him wet food multiple times a day. He has not gained any weight... When Chapo eats, the food is everywhere, he litterly needs a bib when eating or drinking. He foams around his mouth, has saliva everywhere and makes alot of sounds as his mouth opens and closes. Our vet thinks his jaw was recently broken and has healed incorrectly. Chapo will have xrays along with a neuter and dental April 1st. Along with that, we can feel multiple Be Be's in him. Poor Chapo was shot with be be pellets at some point in his life. We cannot begin to explain what this poor guy has lived thru, but we can assure you it will never happen again. We will do whatever is needed to get Chapo back to health and thriving. We are looking for a medical foster for Chapo. A family that is home more than not so he can get fed multiple times a day. Chapo does wear a belly band since he is not neutered yet. Chapo does not need to be crated, but we suggest feeding him separately, he does not like anyone near his food. Chapo craves human attention. He will sit with you, kiss you and want to snuggle all day long. Chapo has a good amount of energy and acts like a puppy sometimes. He is fine with other dogs ( just not at feeding time ) Chapo would be fine with cats or kids, ( again just not at feeding times ) His current weight is 8 pounds Send an email to Onepawatatimerescue@gmail.com and request an application for fostering
