Brutus: DOB 7-14-2023 This darling little Chihuahua is all up to date on shots and ready to come home. This boy knows no stranger, everything he meets is his best friend! Not only is Brutus cute he has personality all over himself! Brutus is full of antics but loves to fall asleep in your arms while you are reading or watching TV. He will weigh around 7 pounds as an adult. His adoption fee is 600.00 and his transport fee is 165.00. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. Weighing only 9 pounds dripping wet, this little Chihuahua boy is named Hermey and he’s just arrived from Texas to NJ to find a forever home. He is only a year old.  Hermey is a timid pup who will need a patient family. He is great with other dogs but he will chase cats. In fact we feel that Hermey would do best in a home with another calm canine companion. Hermey has had no exposure to children and because of his timid nature we feel that he should not be in a home with kids Hermey is definitely affectionate although he is afraid of getting grabbed - he loves getting pets and belly rubs though. He is crate trained & likes to eat in the comfort of his crate so he can eat at his own pace during meals. With only 15 minutes to spare, Polska was pulled to safety from a Texas shelter by NorthStar. She is now decompressing in her new foster home, getting used to things & people & other dogs & doing just GREAT! Polska appears to have some loss of sight and she is currently on eye drops. Foster mom says that Polska is a happy friendly dog who wants to be by her person at all times. This gal loves to go for car rides and really likes other dogs - she is also fine with cats! Polska is housebroken and does okay in a crate or pen although she doesn't need to be confined, she's so well behaved. And sometimes she'll go get a dog toy and carry it around. She may not really know how to play yet but she wants to. She's also a big fan of naps in the sun. She also loves cheese and gets very excited by the USPS truck. With her tail wagging all the time, you can tell this is one happy happy girl with a tail that never stops wagging!! Polska is about 8 years old and weighs under 16 pounds. Story

"Ohana" means "family" and this sweet little girl would love to have a family of her own! She came into a shelter in Texas as a stray  with a dead end microchip and an old injury to her eye. Ohana is a gem and very easy to work with. She walks well on the leash & has been friendly with everyone she has met - she definitely seems potty trained, too! Ohana's eye has been examined by NorthStar's vets - since it's an old injury and isn't bothering her, they feel it is best to just leave the eye as it is. This gal is very chill and mostly likes to sleep in a dog bed in the living room while foster mom works at home. She is getting better with the cats but still not a fan of them. She would do fine with calm dogs (especially small breed) who also like to keep to themselves with occasional interaction. High energy dogs or puppies are not for her! Ohana is amazing with kids. She loves to be held and pet on and will sit in your lap for hours if you let her. Ohana is fully potty trained and loves to be with her people in bed and around the house. Her best fit would be in a house with a kid or as an only dog or with one easy going fursibling. Ohana loves car rides and being outside. She is not people shy at all - she gets along with everyone! She has been crated and is okay with it but in her foster home she doesn't have to be as she is well behaved and hasn't had any accidents. Ohana is about 5 years old and weighs around 9 pounds - she's perfectly sized for any lap! This girl is a real treasure and whoever adopts her is going to be very happy they did! Suey is a 12-year-old Chihuahua who is a little different from her more outgoing friend Bitty. Suey prefers couch cuddles and not a lot of excitement. She enjoys cute small squeaky toys and soft treats.  Suey is mostly housetrained (only had one accident, but it was the first day in her foster homeand she was anxious). Suey is very non-reactive and does well with all dogs. She does okay in a crate (doesn't potty in it), but whines when we put her in it. She has a lot of pep in her step, she is a good mix of a senior and fun. Suey LOVES her foster home’s backyard, she really enjoys going out and sniffing around. Suey is probably best with someone who is home a lot because that's what she's been used to. Suey has a nice energy level, she is not hyperactive at all.  Suey was rescued from the same shelter as NAC Bitty, her BFF, who has already been adopted. Allergic to cats but always dreamed of adopting one? Here is your perfect feral street cat in a dog’s body! Moe is a middle aged chi mix who originally came from a hoarding situation where he was clearly never ever touched. Probably even by his owner. He’s been in a great foster for a while and has made tremendous progress, but he needs someone who will accept him for who he is, and will probably never be the type of dog who will run over asking to be picked up and cuddled or greeting strangers at the door happily. Well, maybe 10 years from now when he’s blind, deaf, and arthritic he won’t mind being held and cuddled, but he’s a long way off from that. He thrives on routine and following his “pack” of doggie friends around. He actually seems to prefer the man of the house and will finally lay by him and allow some petting, but is still terrified of being leashed and most handling. He runs around happily wagging his tail, playing with the other dogs and loves his life as long as his limits are respected and is hoping to find a permanent pack where the dogs outnumber the humans in the household and he won’t be under pressure to conform to societal norms of how a dog should act. Meet senior chi Titan. We wish we could call him a sweet senior but that wouldn’t be accurate. This 11 year old chihuahua/potato hybrid looks happy and cheerful at first glance, but he’s not a fan of much touching unless it’s on his terms and by the people of his choosing. Luckily he’s missing all his top teeth, but his huge bottom fangs always protrude to remind you that they are there. Sometimes his eyes seem to reflect and glow bright red in the light too just to add to his fire breathing dragon/demon image 😈 Titan came to us when both his owners sadly died within a few months of each other. We don’t believe he was at fault but authorities can’t confirm or deny if he was responsible. He pleads the fifth. The other dogs in the house were alive so we can confirm he’s fine with other dogs. We got them also and they are very sweet seniors, a beagle and a Shih tzu/Yorkie mix. He’s been on some happy pills 💊 according to his vet records which has helped his attitude a little bit so maybe getting him back on them will chill him out. But he basically just wants a place to hang out and be himself, with or without other dogs is fine, and won’t tolerate the indignity of being carried around and dressed up like a furry little baby doll. Merlin, a recent rescue, is a very happy, very sweet, blind, but active, blue merle, Pomeranian puppy born on 6/8/24. He is such a social little boy. He’s loves being right beside you touching you when he’s down on the ground, staying right at your feet, but he’s even happier when you are holding him in your arms. On 4/25/24 he was neutered, brought up to date on vaccinations, tested negative for heartworms, and is being kept on heartworm and flea and tick prevention to maintain his good health. He has a very thick, luscious coat and he will be groomed when his neuter incision heals. Merlin is being fostered in Arkansas. His adoption donation is $965 which includes the $165 transport fee that we will pay to our transport company, HEARTS LLC. If you have lots of love and attention to lavish on this special little boy and would like to provide him with a safe and loving home, please complete the first step in the adoption process by filling out an online adoption application.
