Story
Leroy is an 8 year old chihuahua and weighs 13lbs. He came to PAR after being surrendered to a local shelter by his owner. We are not really sure why, because he never stop wagging his tail!  He gets along great with other dogs and cats and is a happy go lucky fellow. Leroy is crate trained and working on his house manners. He LOVES to be with his people, so his ideal home is one where someone is home more often than not. Leroy does take medication once daily for an enlarged heart, but other than an occasional cough, nothing slows this guy down. If you would like to open your home and heart to sweet Leroy, please don’t hesitate to apply to meet him! Applications can be filled out at www.piedmontanimalrescue.com/adopt!  Petfinder and Adopt-A-Pet does NOT send us Applications.   We receive many applications and many never respond after processing GREATLY delaying the pets forever home.  Please only apply if you are serious about adopting.  Please also make sure your pets are up to date on you species applicable Vaccines (rabies, Distemper/Parvo, FVRCP, Bordetella), spayed/neutered, and on Heartworm prevention if a canine.   The adoption fee includes their age appropriate vaccinations(DA2PP and Bordetella), Dewormer, spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm test as well as the registration of their microchip information to you. The first step to adopting is to fill out an application for adoption. Once approved we will arrange a time for you to meet the animal you are interested in. If it is a match the adoption can then be completed and you can take home your new furry family member. If it is not a match we will file your approved application and you can wait till you find the perfect match. ##1725835##

Story
Freddy is a shy guy, he takes a few minutes to warm up to new people. He looks like a Chihuahua mixed with something a little bigger. He weighs 20 pounds, which is a good weight for him. He was found as a stray so we don't know his history. A family with older children may be a better fit because he is so nervous. He is up to date on vaccines, has tested negative for heartworm disease and his adoption fee includes a voucher to cover his neuter.

Story
Please, No Phone Calls. If you are interested in adopting this bonded pair, please fill out an application by going to charlottecockerrrescue.org to download and save our application. Email your filled out application back to us to be approved. We will review it and return calls. Must be adopted together, need secure fenced yard and these two must be the only dogs in your home. Lola is a sweet, playful, dog social and loves attention. Sweetie is a real sweetheart and loves attention but isn't comfortable with other dogs. These dogs are easy going and will be a wonderful addition to a home where they can be kept as the only two-house dogs. Meet 5-year-old Lola 7.7 pounds plus and 3-year-old Sweetie, 11.6 pounds plus, a bonded pair. They are a Mother Chihuahua and mixed breed daughter from a lady that had 5 dogs, a cat and a baby. She asked for rescue help because she couldn't afford to care for these two girls and thought they deserved better. Both dogs came in really scared and underweight. We started feeding them small meals several times a day and they have made great progress. They also aren't quite as scared anymore. These two girls are so nice, love to be held and will melt your heart. Sweetie needs a dental and spay. Lola needs to be spayed and is on meds for an ear infection. They are scheduled for spay surgery and are now microchipped and tested as heartworm and fecal negative. Sweetie doesn't want anything to do with other dogs, but sweet Lola enjoys playing and running with them and was an escape artist but is doing much better. This said, you must have a secure, fenced yard area, no invisible fencing. This bonded pair need to be the only two dogs in your home. They are pretty well house trained, and they are crate trained. If you are the right home, these two will steel your heart and love you dearly. Adoption Fee - Lola $400, Sweetie $400

Story
Dixie - Female - DOB: 2010 Meet 12-year-old Dixie. Dixie came to us with injuries we believe occurred when she was thrown from a car when she was abandoned. She has since fully recovered from her injuries and has blossomed into a sweet outgoing little dog. She will need ongoing medical treatment for thyroid issues, kidney disease, and incontinence.  She loves to cuddle. She enjoys being outside on pretty days and barking at the squirrels and the birds. She gets along great with the cats, cockatiels, and Sheltie in her foster home. She will make a wonderful companion for the right person.
