Story
Ladies, here is the man for you... he prefers women over the male species and is a typical chihuahua who is loyal to his person. He is good with dogs his size. He is around 7 years old and needs a loving home as he approaches his senior years. If you understand those sweet chi personalities and think Bo might be your man, please read on. RECOMMENDATIONS & PROCEDURES Please note, the following are recommendations for puppies and different breeds of dogs. We will evaluate each application on an individual basis to see what is best for the dog/puppy and the potential adopter. Puppies are very fragile and not toys. We recommend children be at least six years old to be considered to adopt a puppy. Small breed dogs ( such as chihuahuas, yorkies, shih tzus , etc) we recommend children be at least eight years old. Herding, working breeds we recommend children to be at least 12 years old. Again these are recommendations. Adoption Procedures: We will travel up to two hours ( one way) to do physical home visits and we do not do virtual home visits. Most of our dogs come from bad situations and we want to know where their forever home is going to be. While we do not require fencing on all dogs, certain dogs that need a fenced in yard, will not be adopted unless potential adopter has one. We also adopt some dogs to people who live in apartments ( as long as the landlord approves) but not all dogs. We do not adopt to anyone under 21 years of age. We also do not feel college students are the best fit for most of our dogs. Most of our dogs again, come from bad situations and need lots of attention. Most college students have financial responsibilities and we feel need to be focused on school. Our goal is to match the dog with a family that fits the dog’s needs. We are solely focused on what is best for each dog in our rescue. These dogs have had enough moving around, dumped out like trash, and we want to ensure they find their forever home. We do require you sign a contract and if at any time you cannot continue to provide for the dog, the dog comes back to the rescue. Your first step to adoption is filling our our on line application. You will then get an automated email stating we got your application Next our adoption coordinator will be in touch either by phone or email If your references check out, a home visit will be scheduled. After the home visit is done, a meet and greet with the dog you are interested in and/or any other available dogs we have will be scheduled If the dog and you are a match, contract will be signed and you may take your new family member home. Our sweet boy Barney came from a very bad hoarding situation and was understandably a bit shook up at first. He has since started to warm up to his foster mom and is doing better each day. Timid at first, but if you give him a little time, he is your best buddy. If Barney looks like your boy, please read our adoption procedures and fill out our on line application Listed below is our adoption procedures for Clifford’s Army Rescue. Please, No Phone Calls. If you are interested in adopting this bonded pair, please fill out an application by going to charlottecockerrrescue.org to download and save our application. Email your filled out application back to us to be approved. We will review it and return calls. Must be adopted together, need secure fenced yard and must be the only dogs in your home. Both are loving, easy going and will be wonderful companions for you to keep as house dogs. These two are the real deal and will truly steal your heart. Meet 5-year-old Lola and 3-year-old Sweetie, a bonded pair. These two girls are so special and would love spending quality time with you. They are a Momma Chihuahua and mixed breed daughter from a lady that had 5 dogs, a cat and a baby. She couldn't afford to keep them and knew they deserved better. They were scared and very thin. With small meals several times a day, they have gained weight and are doing much better. Lola is sweet, playful, dog social, loves attention and being held. Sweetie is a real sweetheart, loves attention and being held but was not socialized and isn't comfortable with other dogs. This said, they must be your only dogs. Sweetie has had a dental and spay. Lola is now spayed, and ear issues have been addressed. They are now microchipped. Both tested as heartworm and fecal negative. Sweetie doesn't do well with other dogs, but sweet Lola enjoys playing and running with them. Both have settled in nicely here but hope to find a home soon. A secure, fenced yard area is a must, no invisible fencing. They are crate trained and pretty well house trained. These two will melt your heart and love you dearly. Adoption Fee - Lola $400, Sweetie $400
