Hey there, I’m Barkley! You may not know it by looking at me now, but I’ve already had quite the journey. Some kind people found me wandering near an overpass and made sure I got to safety, and I’ve been showing everyone what a friendly, gentle boy I am ever since. I’m about 4 years old, great on a leash, and I absolutely love being pet and held. I’m the kind of dog who leans in for affection and warms up quickly to anyone who shows me kindness. I get along well with other dogs, enjoy good company, and would be so happy to have a home where I can finally relax and feel safe. Whether it’s going for walks, hanging out on the couch, or just being near you, I’m ready to be your loyal companion. Bonus news! If you’re a committed adopter or foster, I can catch a ride down to Petco in Huntersville, NC (10017 Biddick Lane, Huntersville NC 28078) on December 18th, 2025 so we can meet in person! Available mid- December but you can apply now! Meet Laurie Laurie is a 2½-year-old Chihuahua/terrier mix with a sweet, fox-like face and a gentle, shy nature. She warms up slowly, but once she trusts you, she becomes a total cuddle bug who loves blankets, lap time, and even offers her little paws for pets. She’s been great with other dogs and did well around a 4-year-old child. Laurie sleeps quietly through the night (bed or crate), rarely barks, eats well, and takes her meds easily. She’s still gaining confidence, so leash walking hasn’t started yet, but she does well with a steady potty routine.
