Hi, I’m Trixie! I’m a 6 year old Chihuahua/Pug mix with 21 pounds of personality packed into one very cute little package. I recently found myself looking for a new home after my family went through a major life change, so now I’m ready to find someone who will make me part of their everyday life. I do well with both dogs and cats and I’m very friendly with strangers. I’ll happily come over for pets and curl up in your lap. I do enjoy short play sessions with a furry friend. I’m a true couch potato! Minimal exercise needed. I love chasing toys now and then, but I spend most of the day napping on my favorite chair. I can be a little anxious or vocal at first, but I calm down after a few minutes when my foster peeps head to work. I think I’d make a wonderful companion for someone who likes a sweet little dog with a bit of confidence and character. At six, I’m past the puppy stage and ready to settle into a home where I can enjoy being someone’s beloved girl. Take one look at my happy face and tell me you don’t want to come meet me. Hi there, I’m Asher, a calm little gentleman with a soft heart and an old soul. I’m a senior Chihuahua mix, just 15 pounds, and I’ve got that quiet, tender kind of charm that makes people want to protect me and give me a safe place to live out my golden years. Life is pretty blurry to me these days, and I don't hear so well either, so I can get startled if I’m caught off guard. Because of that, I take things slowly and would love a calm home where I can feel safe and understood. I’m a true couch potato (although I want to stay safely on the floor) — minimal exercise needed — and I’m happiest with cozy routines, gentle company, and soft blankets. I am not a lap dog, thank you--"four on the floor" works best for me. I’m independent and easy to care for, already house trained, very quiet (I never bark), and I sleep quietly overnight. I’ve also done well with other dogs and cats in testing; I get along with dogs of any size as long as they don’t run me over! I don’t bother toys, bones or any household items — I mostly eat, potty, and sleep — and I absolutely adore dog beds and treats of any kind. I do politely ask to go out to potty throughout the day by booping your leg and stare in your general vicinity when I need to go. A regular schedule and routine work very well for me. I'm reliable when left out and about when you're not home for moderate periods of time and I’ve learned how to use a ramp so I don’t risk falling down stairs. I’m beginning to accept gentle contact and I’m slowly warming up to the idea of soft scratches. Who knew that could feel so good?! This new life is pretty darned wonderful. Leash walking is ok to potty; I'll come along with you a bit but no long walks, please. The world is just too scary. What you’ll get with me is a nap-loving, independent, quiet companion with a veteran’s calm and a heart of gold. If you have a soft spot for seniors and a cozy dog bed I can snooze in, I might just be your perfect, slightly-starry-eyed fellow. I'm told I'm the sweetest old man ever. Hi, I’m Marley! I’m a 10-year-old Chihuahua/Pug mix with a gentle soul, a sweet face, and a very cute set of ears. At 15 pounds, I’m the perfect lap size to tuck in beside you while we watch the world go by. That’s pretty much my speed, too— because at my age, you learn to appreciate the finer things in life like soft pets and tasty treats. My previous family surrendered me when their circumstances changed, so I’m ready for a fresh start with someone who will appreciate what a sweet, easygoing companion I am. I can be a little shy when meeting new people, and I might bark briefly at visitors to politely announce them, but I warm up quickly and calm right down after a few minutes. When it comes to routine, I’m generally house-trained with only the occasional accident, and I’m completely reliable in my crate. I've passed all my testing with other dogs and cats! I did lose some hair due to a past flea issue; but most of it has grown back! I’m also more than happy to show off a wardrobe of snazzy sweaters in the meantime. While I love relaxing, I do have a fun, playful streak! I enjoy chasing toys inside until I tire myself out, and I like playing fetch with a tiny ball that is the perfect size for me. A moderate amount of play and activity keeps me quiet, calm, and happy throughout the day. I’ve also recently discovered a passion for enthusiastic rock-hunting (digging), so a backyard that can handle a couple of small holes would be ideal! I’m not looking for a complicated life—just a quiet home, a person nearby to share daily walks, and the comfort of knowing I’m home for good.
