Please note: Gracie is in a foster home and not physically at the shelter.Meet our sweet Gracie. Gracie is a 5 1/2 year-old long hair chihuahua mix that weighs 15 pounds. Gracie’s mom passed away last month. Gracie is still grieving but we promised her mom that we would find Gracie an equally if not more loving home. Gracie is a sensitive girl who will take all of 5 minutes to warm up to you. True to her chihuahua nature, she will protect you from everything larger than her and follow you to the ends of the earth. She will become your ride or die once she gets to know you. Gracie is an avid walker, she is used to walking at least 4 miles daily. She has a high energy level. She has completed obedience training and knows the following commands of “sit, down, off and come.” She knows her name too. Gracie is perfect at the vets, will allow nail trims with no grumbling, and enjoys her daily teeth brushing. Gracie has skin allergies and may need to continue medication or even take fish oil to keep those allergies at bay. Gracie is fond of car rides and if you pack her little bed in the car, she will accompany you everywhere in the car. Gracie will eat carrots, apples, and the occasional marrow bone. Gracie is housetrained and crate trained. If you leave her crate open during the day, she will nap in there. At night, she prefers to sleep with you. Gracie is seeking an adult only household or older calm teen children. She would prefer someone be home often. She is used to living as the only dog in the home. She has not been exposed to cats. Gracie is available for our foster to adopt program which means you can foster her in your home until she finishes her vetting which includes updated vaccines, and heartworm testing. I love me some Nacho! If you like them sweet and spicy, you gotta meet Mr Nacho Man! He is always so very happy to see his humans. Arms outstretched, wants to be picked up for hugs and cuddles right away. If you are a little slow in fulfilling that request, he tippy taps on his back legs as if to say, ‘hurry up already!’😊Nacho is such a joy to have around. He loves to be held and carried around. He loves it even more when you pet him as you hold him and tell him what a sweet and good boy he is. Nacho is wonderful with dogs. He plays well with dogs his size or a little bigger. He likes to run and play chase with a buddy. The occasional wrestle is fine by him too 😊That is the sweet Nacho. Now, the spicy Nacho can hold a grudge. Well, for like 5 minutes. For example, he hates nail trims. If you try to trim his nail, he will hiss at you. It doesn't matter that you stop immediately and try to comfort it. He remembers what you tried to do. He will hiss even if you try to hold him to make amends. Best to leave him be to ‘cool off’. He will come running back to you once he gets over it. What they say about Chihuahuas having a sassy attitude. All true! Nacho is a year old, 10lb and looking for a home where he can be a companion to a human. Pampered, going places, that’s all on his must-have list. A doggie friend is a plus.

There were far too many children(6) to pick on me. I've been with my foster mom for a year now and I think we have a few things straightened out, regarding what kind of a home I need. I need an off the grid owner. Do you growl at children? I getcha. Nothing wrong with that, as long as you stay away from the little monsters. Are you a private person,me too. I'm currently living in a quiet country home with a fenced yard where I can expend some energy chasing the squirrels. We have a routine and infrequent visitors. There are other little dogs here and we get along fine, but I do not like strange dogs and would be best as an only pet. I like to play with squeaky toys, rope toys and nyla bones, am reliably house and crate trained and love to ride in the car and snuggle with foster mom when our day is done. I will be 3 years old soon, weigh 19.5 lbs. and have the cutest underbite. I am healthy, low maintenance, caught up on all my vaccinations and heart worm negative. I am VERY REACTIVE to new people and situations(stranger danger) and will bark and show fear aggression. I can be worked through this, if you have experience at socializing reactive dogs. It will be a work in progress to help me. IF YOU HAVE A QUIET HOME, WITH NO CLOSE NEIGHBORS OR CHILDREN, we could be best friends. I would love my very own human being buddy.
