Murphy is in a foster home. To meet him contact Rachael at 440-773-0270 Where are all the chihuahua people at?! Murphy is the definition of a true chihuahua personality. Sweet and cuddly to his favorite people and fierce and brave to all others. This little man has definitely won the hearts of those volunteers that take him out regularly and his foster mom. It may take him a minute to warm up, but once he does, he will win you over with all of his kisses and play nibbles. Murphy loves to sit in your lap, no matter what you are doing. He would love to find a cozy lap to call his own. Murphy likes some other dogs, but a meet and greet with any current dogs in your home will be required before adopting. Murphy needs someone that is willing and able to take him for multiple walks per day as he needs to lose weight and has a lot of energy to burn off. Murphy does like to protect his people from strangers by barking, as Chihuahuas do, so we are recommending a home for Murphy without young children. Murphy is also house and cage trained.

Well hello ladies and gentlemen! Let me introduce myself, my name is Grizzly. I am only 3 years old and weigh in at a whopping 15 pounds! Some think I am some kind of chihuahua-terrier-pug mix, because I have some crazy wiry hair and a smooshed pug face. Others debate on if I'm a dog at all, and that I might be some kind of Grinch/Gremlin/Who-from-Whoville type creature. I might look like grandpa that wants you to stay off my lawn, but in reality, I am an energetic, playful goofy guy who loves people and playing with other dogs. I am working on potty-training; I walk well on a leash, and I am crate trained. I enjoy caroling the songs of my people in my spare time, so please note that I should not live in an apartment or condo with shared walls. Holiday greetings from Stacky. Stacky is a 4 year old female chihuahua mix that weighs 19 pounds. Her ideal weight  is about 15 lbs. She was surrendered to our shelter when her owner became ill and could no longer physically care for Stacky. This young lady is round and low to the ground and has the tiniest of nubs for a tail. Stacky will need a home where she is the only dog. She has never been exposed to cats so cat compatibility is unknown. According to the prior owner, Stacky is crate trained and house trained. Her crate is her safe place. She walks well on leash and knows many commands. Stacky has a medium energy level. She has done well with older respectful children. Chew toys are her jam. She will disarm toys or beds with stuffing as if her life depended on it. She is a wonderful co-pilot in the car. Stacky is available for our foster to adopt program which means you can foster her in your home until she has completed all her vetting. This will include microchip, heartworm testing and vaccinations. Stacky is already spayed. Please email dogadoptions@parmashelter.org and fill out a dog adoption application online to meet Stacky. Stacky’s adoption fee is $200. Princess Almond sure knows what it is like to be pampered. She likes to be catered to, does things at her own pace, when she is ready and when she is up to it. She can be a little shy when people she doesn’t know approach her too quickly, or when she is in places she is unfamiliar with. That said, at other times, she will surprise you by greeting new people with her butt wiggling. She will walk right up to the strangers, butt wiggles and all and solicit attention and affection. She doesn’t like to be picked up and sat in your lap when she isn’t the one to initiate it. However, when she feels like lap snuggles, she doesn’t care if you’re ready for it, she will leap in your lap and park herself there for snuggles and butt caresses. She also likes curling up next to you in bed. When you are not home, Almond will sprawl out on your bed, because you know, it is hers, she just lets you lay in it. Although she is crate trained, she doesn’t need to be crated if home alone. She doesn’t get into things. She will nap or busy herself with chew toys like small benebones. Almond is 2.5 years old, 25lb Cheagle (Chihuahua/Beagle mix). She is looking for a quiet home where she has a quiet, private Princess chamber to escape to. A home with older kids and dogs would be ideal for Almond. Almond is house and crate trained, she loves car rides.
