Dreamer came to DASH with several other small dogs when their owner went into a nursing home and was unable to care for them. Dreamer is certainly a love bug. She has never met a stranger, and wants all the pets she can get. She loves sleeping in bed with her foster mom and dad as well. This girl is working on her crate training, walking on a leash and potty training in her foster home as well and is doing great. She is good with other dogs of all sizes, is ok with cats in the current foster home, but has not been kid tested. She would be a perfect companion for a senior looking or family looking for that special dog to call their own. This lovely little girl came to DASH with her friend Mini Claus when they were abandoned in a burnt down drug house. Luckily some kind neighbors were feeding them, but it was no place for small girls to be. So they made their way to us where they will never know that kind of life again. Ellie is a very sweet, loving girl, who is pretty laid back. She enjoys napping in a big comfy dog bed, and watching all the other doggie antics in her current foster home. She is still a little shy upon meeting new people, but warms up quickly once she knows you are there to love her. She is working on her potty training, crate training and walking on a leash, so her new family will need to continue helping her on that journey. She loves other dogs, is fine around cats, but has not been kid tested. She would be great for a senior or family alike and is ready to find her forever home. This little girl came to the rescue from a very rough living situation. She and her friend, Ellie Christmas, had been living in a drug house, that ended up burning down and they were abandoned and left in the burnt out home to fend for themselves. Luckily some kind neighbors were feeding them, and they were able to come to us where they will never know another day like that again. Minnie is very sweet once she warms up to you and knows she is safe with you. She is currently working on learning to go potty outside at her current foster home, is crate trained and walks on a leash pretty well. This girl just really needs a place that will love her and spoil her to the moon and back. She is good with other dogs and cats, but has not been kid tested. Due to her size, we recommend children older than 8 who can respect her space. This tiny chihuahua boy came to DASH when his person realized he needed a home and not to be living tied to a car bumper in a homeless camp. Do not let his size fool you, he has a larger than life personality and shows it to his current foster mom on the daily. He is very sweet and loves being in your lap or snuggled under a blanket. He does sleep under the covers with his foster mom every night. Since he has lived outside for some time, he is working on his potty training (doing well with both pee pads and going outside on a schedule), and his leash manners. He is not crate trained in his foster home and is not destructive. While he loves being in a lap, he is not a big fan of being carted around, he'd rather you give him a little help up and let him find his spot. He will also growl and show you his teeth at times, but not in any aggressive way (we think this was most likely his defense mechanism while living outside due to his small size), and his foster mom is working with him to let him know pets and love are ok and not scary. He gets along with the other small dogs in his foster home as long as they respect his space, but has not been kid or cat tested. This boy just needs a place to call his and to know he will always be inside for the rest of his life.
