Story
Are you the type of person that likes to give sweet older pups a chance they might otherwise not get? Sweetie loves attention and will happily help you out by guarding the door of the bathroom from the inside. However, she can also be quite the independent little lady and doesn’t need to be a velcro dog… unless you want her to be! Sweetie can be a little bossy with her dog friends (part of why we think she’s mixed with chihuahua!) but generally gets along well with everyone. Sweetie is a beauty but would benefit from a little tough love when it comes to feeding and giving out treats and a little more activity in her day. A physically fenced yard is required. Sweetie is available for adoption in Ohio to residents of Ohio. If you are interested in adopting Sweetie, please complete the online application here (copy and paste into your browser): https://hhdane.formstack.com/forms/lostpetrecoveryadoptionform

Story
This girl has tons of personality. Neva was adopted through Rico Pet Recovery about 2.5 years ago and is being returned to us because her owner has developed a significant medical issue and can no longer care for her. Neva loves to cuddle and play with toys and is good with kids who are a little bigger--we recommend five years old or more. She gets along with some dogs, but no cats for her! Neva is crate-trained and walks on a leash, although she sometimes feels she needs to protect herself or her owner from men and some dogs when she's leashed. You can apply to adopt this cutie pie at ricopetrecovery.org. Her adoption fee is $250.

Story
Wittle is your typical chihuahua. Big dog in tiny body. She has no fear, loves everyone, wants to be a cuddle buddy. Will take toys and other things into her crate like a little hoarder. She loves chasing a ball around. Wittle was originally a petland purchase but after 7 years the family was splitting up and no one could take wittle. She is now spayed, up to date on vaccines, etc and ready for the next chapter in her life. I am in a foster home so if you are interested in adoptiong me, please fill out an online adoption application at https://colonycats.org/adoption_app.html to expedite the process.  Due to the large number of inquiries we receive, we are unable to respond to emails quickly.  May 14, 2024, 9:20 pm

Story
Name: Titan Gender: Male Age: 11 years - birthday is 5/13/2012 Size: Small (under 25 lbs) Breed: Chihuahua Mix Energy Level: Medium Dog Friendly:  I will check out other dogs and decide if they are worthy.  I like to be dominant so they may need to give me some space and time to get to know them.  I do well with dogs my own size in my foster home; I do get easily overstimulated on walks but love backyard play (fenced yard needed) Cat Friendly: No, they're not for me Kid Friendly: Yes, I like young teens and older Apartment Friendly: No Physical Fence Requirement: I do need a physical fence that will keep me in and other creatures out Crate & Potty Trained: Yes, I have never had an accident in the house.  I may have to go more frequent being a senior.  Just listen to my cues.  Ideal Home/Adopter: My ideal home would be in a quiet neighborhood. I am easily redirected with “treat treats,“ and I go inside if I’m barking at neighbors or other neighborhood sounds (lawnmower, kids playing/ talking loud). I have a heart murmur and take medication delicately from your fingers.   I have some other calming and old age pain medicine.  Between my age (11), heart murmur and some back issues,  I will be more of a companion dog than exercise partner.  Likes: I LOVE puzzles that dispense treats. I master them quickly; keeps my mind sharp you know.  I prefer a puzzle or two a day. I love my toys, skinny “No hide sticks” and vegetables (carrots, broccoli, diced vegi mix, etc.) I love car rides and will be your companion. I gotta admit though I am learning about new seats since I tweaked my back.  I like to have a quiet space I can go to when I’m tired or over stimulated. Dislikes: I don’t like lots of company, noise, larger dogs in my face (they say it’s Napoleon syndrome - I will try to show I’m louder, stronger) Additional Considerations: I am extremely intelligent and eager to please.  I recently had an oops and hurt my back.  My vet/life coach says no more racing around the yard, no jumping up multiple stairs or off furniture.  She says I would be best to keep my paws on the ground.  Gotta stay healthy.   What makes this dog special:  Did you know there is a moon named after me - the second largest moon in the solar system?  I also share my name with an awesome Nissan SUV and an investment group.  I’m pretty much larger than life. I came to RESCUEDOhio when my human mom passed away. I want more than anything to be part of a family again. I am a big love bug and am happy to snuggle up with anyone and everyone.   A senior man, the way to my heart is through my stomach. I have an assortment of treat dispensing puzzles. I also love car rides especially if you'll share some fries or maybe a little sausage. I am more of a lounge chair partner than walking partner. Afternoon snuggles and naps are favorites.  I’m making a bucket list of things to do/places to go as a senior (The Park of Roses, Topiary Park etc).  I hope you’ll join me.  Titan's adoption fee is $195.  Hhe is part of our Seniors for Seniors program ($65 for adopters 65+). All fees include spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations, worming, flea and heartworm current. All dogs over 6 months of age have been tested and are heartworm negative. If you are interested in Titan, apply at rescuedohio.org to become an approved adopter and a meet & greet can be set up once approved. ##1306109##

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Introducing Angel, the gentle soul with a story as unique as her name. With her pristine white coat and soulful eyes, Angel is a vision of purity and grace. But behind her delicate appearance lies a spirit that's been through more than her fair share of struggles. Angel is a chihuahua in need of a special and patient home, where she can heal and learn to trust at her own pace. Angel's past has left her wary of human touch and attention. She prefers to keep her distance, avoiding contact, conversation, and even eye contact. But don't mistake her hesitance for indifference - Angel craves love and affection just like any other dog. However, she has her own unique way of accepting it. For Angel, love comes in the form of a pepperoni treat. It's the offering of this simple gesture that has helped her begin to open up to the world around her. With time and patience, Angel has warmed up to a staff member, learning to love and trust her in her own way. But Angel's journey is far from over. She'll need a significant amount of time and understanding to warm up to her new adopters, and she may never fully overcome her fear of touch and interaction. For this reason, Angel should not be around children, as their unpredictable movements and loud noises may only serve to further distress her. If you're willing to open your heart and home to Angel, you'll be rewarded with the love and loyalty of a truly special companion. With your patience and understanding, Angel may just learn to trust again and find comfort in the warmth of your love.

Story
Please contact Jetta (Jetta.elliott@att.net) for more information about this pet.ChiweenieGinger is a very sweet little girl. She is 13 lbs. She would be a wonderful companion for an elderly home, as she would love to be somebody’s lapdog. This dog is located in Harrison Arkansas with Ozark Homeward Bound animal rescue. Adopted pups are transported to your location via the rescue network transport. I have set up a Facebook page for you to see videos for the rescue dogs that I foster for Ozark Homeward Bound. May 14, 2024, 6:23 pm

Story
NewmanMaleAge: 9 yearsWeight: 10 lbsBreed: Pomeranian Hi! I’m Newman! I am a gentle, sweet and spicy older soul who gets along well with other dogs. I get along with kids too, but prefer older kids who will give me some space and understand my boundaries. I am house trained and crate trained and can be left in my crate during your normal work day. I am actually very fond of my crate and when the door is left open, I wander in and out as I please. I walk very well on a harness and prefer a harness actually due to a tracheal collapse that makes me cough occasionally when I get super excited. If you have a backyard that would be excellent. I love to walk around and explore all the smells, watch the animals come into the yard and lay in the sun or have the wind in my coat. I am an outdoor and car ride enthusiast and I do enjoy cheese, jerky treats and the small greenie dental chews. I don’t really care for toys. And even though I am not a super cuddly guy I will let you know when I could use some love or a belly rub. I am currently on a couple medications to mange some neck pain and I also have a heart murmur, but I don’t need any medication for this, but, this will need a vet visit to check on this in about 6 months. I cannot wait to find my very own patient family that will take the time to learn my boundaries as well as my sweet personality. If you are interested in meeting Newman, apply to adopt him at: www.causeforcanines.org. Adoption fee: $195 Must be an Ohio resident and 23 or older. Children must be 10 years old or older.  ##1892374##
