Floof is a beautiful, sweet, cuddly guy who is beloved by our family, but unfortunately we do not have the time, money, or experience required to care for him considering his special needs. He suffers from severe separation anxiety and requires the constant presence of a pal and unfortunately we are gone during work hours which are around 10 hour days. When left alone he is destructive to our new home (he was outside at the original home) and himself. Due to the self harm he is on Trazadone and Prozac, but it just makes him sleepy rather than actually affecting his underlying issues. He desperately needs someone who can be there with him, because when he has company we really have no issues with him he just cuddles, sleeps, and wants to play. We cannot afford professional training or a fenced in yard in this new home (he did good where we lived last that did have one) or to be there with him like he needs. He does have a soft spot for the ladies (Gentlemen, don’t worry—he’ll accept you too, but he’s a mama’s boy at heart!) and would thrive in a calm, quiet home. He’ll also need Midazolam on hand, just in case he does have a seizure — though thankfully, his meds are working very well and he rarely has one.
