She’s equal parts sweetheart and sass, a young dog who thrives on love, patience, and plenty of playtime. While she can be cautious with new people and may announce her feelings with barks or growls, Daphne’s true magic shines once trust is built—then she transforms into a loyal, goofy best friend. Her favorite activities include sprinting around the yard like a tiny rocket, chasing squirrels with Olympic-level determination, burrowing under blankets for cozy naps, and testing out tough chew toys. She’s potty trained, kennel trained, and knows a few commands, though she prefers to keep life interesting with her own quirky flair. Welcome Missy to CCPAL Rescue Foster program. Missy Gorda is a 2 -year- old Chug (Pug/Chihuahua). She weighs about 13 pounds and appears to be a good weight. She has the Pug body and is thick in the middle. She is very playful with toys. She is in a foster home with a large dog and Minnie and she does good with both. She isn’t a big shedder. She isn’t too vocal which is nice. She can use the doggy door and goes outside to do her business. She came from a hoarding situation and probably hasn’t been held much. She is a little nervous being held and has a bit of a stiff body. She loves her crate and will go to it when she is scared. The crate makes her feel safe. She is a wonderful little dog. She is really doing great in her foster home. We think the best home for Missy is a home with a partially or fully retired person or someone who has a quieter home. She would be great with someone that is more to themselves and doesn’t have a houseful of people everyday. She is a nice dog and when she is afraid she will retreat to her crate. She is getting lots of attention in her foster home and is doing great. She wouldn’t require a huge yard but a fenced one would be best for this girl. She can go with children. We like them to be 8 or older. She is currently in Texas in foster care. She is getting her vaccinations and will be spayed soon. She can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is $400 and transport is $200. Meatloaf is a small Chiweenie with a tender heart and a gentle spirit. He’s likely between 1–3 years old and is still figuring out the world, but once he feels safe, he becomes a sweet, affectionate little companion who wants nothing more than to be near his person. He may be nervous at first, but he warms up beautifully and truly wants to be your friend. He’s doing well with potty training—he’ll either make it through the night or bark to let you know he needs to go out. He still marks occasionally, but he’s very close to being fully reliable on a schedule. Crate training is still a work in progress; he’s not comfortable going into a crate on his own, but he and his buddy Spam sleep peacefully overnight in a kennel with the door open and an X&#226&#128&#145pen around it. Meatloaf is cautious with new people and new situations, and he hasn’t had much public exposure yet. The car ride to the vet was scary, and he’s still learning that the world is safe. Because he’s fearful and not leash trained, he must have a secure fenced yard (3 ft minimum) and should not be expected to walk on a leash right away. Once he trusts you, Meatloaf shows his sweet, snuggly side. He loves sleeping in bed with people and the other dogs, and he often curls up under his foster’s desk while she works. He can be skittish about being picked up—sometimes unsure, sometimes asking for it—but with patience, he’s already showing signs of becoming a future lap dog. He came from a home with many dogs, so he’s used to canine company and may enjoy having another dog in the home, though it’s not required as long as his humans are around often. He and his brother Spam were rescued together and are very bonded. Meatloaf does great when Spam is around and if it's possible, they'd do great if they were adopted together. He’s gentle, playful, and affectionate once he settles in, and he’s doing surprisingly well with Minnesota’s cold weather for a Southern boy. Meatloaf is a sensitive, sweet little dog who just needs time, patience, and a calm home to help him build confidence. With the right family, he’ll blossom into a loyal, loving companion who wants nothing more than to be close to his people.
