Welcome Maverick to CCPAL Foster Program. Maverick is a 4-year-old Chiweenie. He weighs about 19 pounds. He is good on a leash, good in a car. He is potty trained and very loyal to his person. He knows “go for a walk”, “stop”, “leave it”, “It’s the neighbor” and a few other commands. He is in a home and the owner is having some very big financial issues and need to find Maverick a new home. Maverick has some allergies to food and the food that he can is a Duck and Potato kibble. He has some allergies to grass. He has take Apoquel successfully to handle the allergies. He warms up slowly and is very loyal and bonded once he has bonded. He would be great for a senior couple or single wanting a companion. A nice yard for him to get exercise in would be nice or someone that could have the time to take him on a couple of walks would be great. He isn’t the social butterfly that some dogs are so a matching owner would be the best fit. He would be a great dog to alert you to someone at the door or something being off in the environment. He is good on walks and would help a senior be more active. He is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. He could go with children but we would like them to be teens. I think a quieter home would be best for this boy. His adoption fee is $400 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states. We adopted Chewie 3 1/2 years ago. She is around 11 lbs. They said she was 4yrs, but vet said closer to 6 or 7yrs. That makes her around 10 yrs old. At the time they didn't know she was 100% deaf, when they treated her for a terrible ear infection. We learned the day after adoption she couldn't hear us at all. She was very independent, didn't like to be held, but would come for some pets, loved to go for walks, and sleep at end of bed at night. Over the past year she has developed dementia and stopped going on walks and after being let out in backyard she will potty in house if you don't watch her to make sure she goes. She has trouble on the 15 deck stairs of our split level house. Looking for a loving home (with little expectations of her as she's hard to connect with) where someone can let her out often and without many stairs. We do have another small dog and they are fine around each other - but ignore each other.

We are a bunch of happy, playful, and slightly clumsy little puppies who are always ready for our next adventure! We love to wrestle, chase each other around, and play with toys. We’re still figuring out how all these legs are supposed to work, so there may be a few adorable puppy tumbles along the way! Our mama is a 10-pound Chihuahua mix, and Dad is a mystery, so we can’t say exactly what we’ll grow up to be. But we expect to stay small-sized, making us the perfect little companions for a family looking for plenty of puppy fun in a smaller package. We’re ready to find families who will give us lots of love, patience, playtime, and cuddles while we grow into our very best selves. Sometimes a name just fits, and Precious is definitely one of those dogs. At 10 years young, she's a sweet, gentle, low-energy girl who can be timid at first, but give her a little time and her affectionate personality begins to shine. Precious gets along wonderfully with other dogs and has settled right into her foster pack (3 large dogs and 2 other chihuahuas) she's even starting to play a little! She loves being near her person—curling up beside her foster mom while she works or occasionally deciding they should share the office chair. She enjoys cuddles but is also perfectly content relaxing on her own. Once Precious bonds with you, she becomes your little lookout and will alert you when she hears something unfamiliar. She's shy with new visitors and just needs a little time to warm up. She's crate trained, walks well and has the cutest little prance. She gets around great and even uses a stool to hop onto the bed. Precious is also discovering TREATS—and she's a big fan! She's got quite the nose for people food, too. One exception: peanut butter is unacceptable. Precious has standards. She's still working on potty training and will let you know when she needs a nighttime potty break. She has no known pre-existing medical conditions. Precious may be 10, but she's still discovering new things and showing us more of her personality every day. She's looking for a patient, loving home where she can enjoy plenty of cozy spots, treats (hold the peanut butter!) and companionship. Sweet, gentle and just a little shy—that's our Precious. Local adoption fee is $300(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)

Chico/taco has had a rough life, yet all he wants is to be loved. He’s an owner surrender and came with a really bad skin infection. He’s on the men’s and looking great now and ready for his forever home. He mostly had to fend for himself where he came from and ran with two big labs. Amazingly once I brought him into my home, he has never had an accident in the house and uses the doggie door. He’s good with all sides of Dogs and has no issues with Cats. Please open your heart and home to him so he won’t ever have to worry about being loved again. Please note: we are a FOSTOR based Rescue in Texas all of our dogs reside in Texas. We transport them to new states once Adopted. All Adopter must be 21 years or older. Our application can be found at www.haydudequine.org.
