You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $400 plus taxWalter AKA Wishbone is a very good boy, he is house trained, has very good house manners and is respectful of the resident dog. He loves people and is a good playmate with dogs. He is very smart and picked up sit and shake right away.  Wishbone really likes to be close and cuddle with people. He can be a goofy guy when he wants to play, and he likes chew toys and plush toys. He really likes to crawl under the covers and let’s out some good snores.  Wishbone could use some more leash training, but he is a fast learner! We are still working on getting him comfortable in the kennel, but he is able to be left alone in a spare room with a baby gate and will settle quite fast. Walter may bark when left alone for a few mins, but will settle fairly quickly. Wishbone does not bark at people or dogs or when someone knocks on the door. Wishbone would love a home with another dog to play with and someone to play and cuddle with him. If you have previously applied with us please email adoptionatmars@gmail.com to reactivate your application with new interest. All fees are subject to MN sales tax and a processing fee at the time of adoption. All fees are subject to MN sales tax and a processing fee at the time of adoption.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called 'cute' as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.  *Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.   //

Story
Hi all! My name is Bender but my friends call me Charlie. I am a fun-loving guy looking for my forever family! I was recently returned to rescue because I grew bigger than my previous family was expecting me to get. Their loss because bigger just means more of me to love you with! I am currently about 35 lbs and my mom thinks I’m some sort of yellow lab mix so at 7 months old I will probably still have a little growing to do. I am your typical happy-go-lucky pup who loves to give kisses, cuddle on the couch and play with (destroy) toys. More than anything I love to play and run around with my foster brother as I have lots of energy to burn off. I seem to be good with dogs and people so far although I sometimes bark at them out the window. I met some kids at an event and LOVED them! As I am a puppy, I can get a bit mouthy and jump up on you when we are playing, but I never mean any harm and my mom has me working on it. Speaking of training I know how to sit already and we are working hold/wait commands. Potty training is a work in progress, I sometimes have a hard time holding my bladder when I get over excited or anxious so my mom is taking me out often when I’m not in my crate. I do like my crate okay, I go right in when asked and am pretty quiet overall in there until I get bored or need to go to the bathroom then I whine or bark to get your attention. You need to give me something constructive to chew on otherwise I might nibble on the bedding. I go all night in my crate with no accidents and am generally pretty good during the day when my mom is working as long as we take a few breaks. If I can tell that you are actually leaving I might cry in my crate for the first few minutes. I am currently living in a condo and my mom thinks I would do better with more space and a yard to run around in to help get my energy out. I do pull on a leash and am pretty strong already for my size. Sometimes my mom brings me to a friend’s yard and I am good in the car on the way over and then super excited to race all around when I get there. I am learning how to play fetch too, which is so cool! Although giving the ball back is still a work in progress. I have a lot of love to give, and I would love to give it to you! Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $575.00  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 26, 2024, 5:50 pm

Story
Hi, my name is Mielle, though my foster mom calls me Mama or Missy. I am a doxy mix born approximately 2/20/22. I came to Minnesota all the way from Tijuana. I wasn’t too sure about the cold and snow but I like it better now that it’s getting warmer. My foster mom doesn’t know if I was a stray or in a shelter in Tijuana but she thinks possibly a stray. I’m pretty timid around new people and will hide from them. It takes me A LOT of time to adjust to new surroundings and people but once I do, watch out, as I will tempt you to play with me or follow you around. I live with my foster brother who leaves me alone. I’ve tried playing with him but get shy when he joins. I like having my kennel open during the day to nap in when I get tired, otherwise I like to explore the house, play with my toys or chill on the couch while my foster mom works. I'm fully house trained. I let her know I have to go out by whining at her and then heading to the back door. I like looking under the fence at the neighbors and would sneak into their yard if I could. So I need supervision while outside doing my business. No matter what, I get the zoomies every time I go outside now that it’s warmer out and have to do a couple laps before getting down to business. I like to sleep in my kennel at night with my blankets and a toy for when I wake up too early to come out.  The perfect family for me would be patient with me as I learn my boundaries and what they expect from me. They would love me and give me lots of pets and treats, or let me have my alone time when I need it. I’m good with smaller dogs. I have not been tested around bigger pups, or cats, whatever they are.     Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $450.00 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 26, 2024, 5:50 pm
