small sweetie seeking fresh start and love! FRAPPE NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Frappe     Best Guess for Breed:   Chihuahua mix     Best Guess for Age:    1.5 years as of July 2026       SEX:  Female   Approximate Weight:   11.5 lbs   Gets Along With:  Other dogs! We haven't seen her with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at:    Lucky Dog's South Carolina rescue campus; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get up here!   Special adoption considerations: Because Frappe is shy, she needs to go to a home with a confident, welcoming resident dog who will show her the ropes.   Frappeis Looking For:   Her forever home! She landed in the shelter through no fault of her own but she has closed that chapter and is eagerly looking forward to the next one, where she once again has her own humans for sniffy walks, world exploration, and snuggles! She also needs extra loving and patient adopters who understand she has not seen enough of the world yet, and is shy right now. A welcoming resident dog who shows her the ropes will help too!    Most of all, though, she wants to know where she belongs, to be safe and loved. In exchange, she promises loyal companionship for all her days. What do you say? Does she have a spot in your lap and your life?   What My Foster Says About Me:    We will update this once she has spent time in foster care.   Heartworm information: Frappe is a truly Lucky Dog. She tested positive for heartworms, but landed in a place where heartworm treatment is provided! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. Heartworm dogs can resume full active and normal lives, but need to be kept calm for 4-6 weeks after treatment.We are happy to discuss where in the treatment process this Lucky Dog is in right now! ECLIPSE NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!   Come meet Eclipse and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (06/21) from 12-3 pm at the PetSmart in Falls Church, VA (6100 - A Arlington Blvd, Falls Church, VA 22044)!   Name:   Eclipse        Best Guess for Breed:   Chi and Terrier mix   Best Guess for Age:   5 years as of February 2026       SEX:    Female   Approximate Weight:   29 lbs as of February 2026 - needs to lose some.   Gets Along With:  Other dogs! Eclipse lives with cats in her foster home and pretty much leaves them be. We would caution Eclipse going to a home with young kids because she can be overwhelmed by lots of noise and activity.    Currently Living at:  DC area foster home   Eclipse is Looking For:    This beautiful black-and-white chi/terrier mix is as striking as her name suggests. Eclipse is a petite little lady with an expressive face and a look that will absolutely steal your heart. Her bright eyes make her stand out in any crowd — but it’s her gentle presence that really makes her special. Eclipse is at that wonderful age where she’s eager to settle into a home of her own and share life’s everyday moments with her people. Whether it’s relaxing nearby, joining you for daily routines, or simply being your steady little shadow, she’s happiest being part of the action.  What My Foster Says About Me:    Eclipse is the sweetest girl—full of love, energy, and gives lots of kisses. She may be a little shy at first, but she warms up quickly (it took her less than 12 hours with us) and becomes a total cuddle bug. She loves napping on the couch (and the bed if you let her!) and doesn’t need to be picked up—she’s strong and can easily hop onto couch, into the car, or even the bathtub on her own. She’s very food motivated and comes running the moment she smells a treat or sees you in the kitchen, but seems to understand commands like no, stay, stop, etc.  Eclipse sleeps through the night in her crate and does great when left alone. She gets along well with our senior dog and is pretty neutral around other dogs—she’s much more interested in her humans.  Overall, Eclipse would make a wonderful companion in just about any home. She’s incredibly sweet and loves nothing more than cuddling and being close to her people! Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. Do I get to go home with you?What My Foster Says About Me: We will update this once this pup has spent time in foster care.   Puppy Vetting Requirements:        Lucky Puppies have had their age appropriate vaccines, but may not yet be “fully” vaccinated. It is the adopter’s responsibility to ensure that the remaining puppy vaccines are given at the appropriate time. Please also keep in mind that, until your puppy is fully vaccinated, they are at greater risk for illness than an adult dog.      Due to this puppy’s young age, she/he has not yet been spayed or neutered.  As part of the adoption contract, it will be your responsibility, as the adopter, to ensure that this is done no later than August 28, 2026. There are NO EXCEPTIONS and NO EXTENSIONS to this date.
