Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Lady is an 18&#226&#128&#145pound Cocker Spaniel sweetheart who believes her true calling in life is to be your personal shadow, couch companion, and professional snuggle consultant. She’s friendly and outgoing at home, and while she may start off a little cautious in new places, she warms up quickly—especially if treats are involved. She is extremely food motivated and will happily demonstrate her “sit,” “come,” “shake,” and “outside” skills in exchange for snacks. She’s partially blind in her right eye, which gives her a bit of mysterious pirate&#226&#128&#145princess energy, and may explain why she’s not a fan of chaotic environments or overly enthusiastic dogs. Big, bouncy dogs? Hard pass. Bossy little female dogs? Also no thank you. Calm senior pups? Absolutely—she’ll happily share space with the chill crowd. Lady came to us with 30% vision in her right eye due to juvenile cataracts because of this she will be more prone to glaucoma in that eye and will need annual eye check ups. Lady loves small squeaky toys, stuffies, and anything that makes noise when she pounces on it. She’s slightly active with a moderate energy level, meaning she’s always up for a walk, a car ride, or running errands, but she’s equally thrilled to curl up next to you and soak up all the affection you’re willing to give. She’s a world&#226&#128&#145class snuggler and will happily join you on the couch or in a chair, molding herself into whatever shape is required for maximum coziness. She’s potty trained, walks nicely on a leash, and prefers a fenced yard because she’s not consistent about going potty on leash. She can be a bit barky in the crate at first, but she settles with time. She’s good with cats, good with adults, and likely best with older or considerate kids who understand her gentle, slightly nervous nature. Lady is a happy, goofy, affectionate little love bug who just wants to be with her people. She’ll make you smile with her antics, warm your lap with her snuggles, and brighten your days with her sweet, soulful presence. Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.   ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Meet Rio, a 6-year-old Cocker Spaniel with a big personality, a goofy spirit, and paws that could rival a lion’s. This handsome boy is equal parts playful entertainer and loving cuddle buddy, and he’s always ready to bring a little extra joy (and a lot of personality) into your home. Rio is full of life and absolutely loves to play. Whether he’s tossing around a chew toy, inviting you into a game of chase, or proudly grabbing a toy to show off when guests arrive, he keeps things fun and lively. He has a hilarious habit of snagging toys just so you’ll chase him—it’s all part of his charm! He’s also picked up some adorable behaviors from his foster siblings, like “dancing” with excitement at mealtime and greeting people at the door with a toy in his mouth. When he’s not being his goofy self, Rio is all about the snuggles. He loves to cuddle, enjoys being brushed, and will happily melt into you for a good bum scratch (his favorite!). He also enjoys spending time outside, sniffing and exploring—so a fenced yard would be a dream for him, though he’d also do well with regular walks and time to explore. Rio is a smart boy who already knows a variety of commands, including “sit,” “go lay down,” “kennel,” “outside,” “go potty,” and “quiet.” He’s eager to engage and quick to learn, especially when there’s fun (or treats!) involved. In his foster home, Rio has shown some resource guarding behaviors around other dogs during or just after feeding time. This has improved significantly as he’s settled in, but it’s something his future home should be aware of and continue to manage appropriately. He has a bit of a “leader” personality and likes to be in charge, so he would do best with experienced owners who can provide structure and guidance. He could do well with other dogs, especially with proper introductions and continued boundaries, but may also thrive as an only dog where he can soak up all the attention. Rio has had successful cherry eye surgery and is doing great, but he does have dry eye that will require daily eye drops long-term. He handles care well, and it’s just a simple part of keeping him comfortable and healthy. Rio is truly a special dog—smart, affectionate, playful, and full of character. He’s looking for a home that will embrace his big personality, continue to guide him, and give him plenty of love, playtime, and snuggles. If you’re looking for a dog who will make you laugh, keep you on your toes, and then curl up next to you at the end of the day, Rio just might be your perfect match. Story
Meet Sandy Sandy a beautiful 5-year-old Cocker Spaniel with the sweetest soul and a heart ready to love. After spending her early years in a Missouri puppy mill, Sandy is now discovering just how wonderful life can be—and she’s blossomed into a gentle, affectionate companion who truly enjoys being near her people. Sandy has a calm, easygoing nature with just the right touch of playful charm. She loves her daily routine, from mealtime and short walks to time in the yard and cozy snuggles. She’ll happily greet you each morning and when you return home, always excited to be by your side. She’s still learning the ropes of home life, including house training, but she’s making great progress with consistency and positive reinforcement. Sandy is also working on her leash skills and gaining confidence every day. She’s non-reactive on walks and simply enjoys taking in the world at her own pace. Sandy gets along well with other dogs and would likely do fine with respectful children thanks to her gentle temperament. While she hasn’t met cats yet, her calm demeanor suggests she may adjust well. She’s crate trained and sleeps soundly through the night (with the cutest little snores!) and settles nicely after a brief protest if left alone. This sweet girl has some adorable quirks that make her extra special—she makes little “piggy” grunts during belly rubs, watches TV (especially if animals are on!), and is fascinated by her reflection. She loves chew toys, squeaky balls, and enrichment games, though she’ll need supervision as she continues to learn what’s hers to chew. Sandy is in great health after receiving full veterinary care, including spay and dental work, and will just need routine care and regular grooming to keep her looking and feeling her best. If you’re looking for a gentle, loving companion with a playful spirit and a heart full of gratitude, Sandy might just be your perfect match. All CSHS pups are spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, 4DX negative (if older than 6 months), dewormed and microchipped. To meet this sweet pup, fill out an application today! https://www.carverscotths.org/

Age:1 Year Old Weight: 27 pounds Dog friendly: Yes Cat friendly: Yes Kid friendly: Unknown Potty trained: 90%-needs prompting occasionally Crate trained: Yes Sweet and Shy Tavis is Looking for His Forever Home! Tavis is a gentle, affectionate boy who loves his people and does well with other dogs and even cats. He enjoys exploring alongside a canine companion but can be hesitant on his own. Sensitive and thoughtful, Tavis thrives in calm, predictable environments. While not aggressive, busy or chaotic settings can feel overwhelming for him. Once he feels safe, his loyal and loving personality shines. Tavis has done well with resident and foster dogs when introductions are slow and structured. He can be an only dog in the right home; however, without a canine companion, he will need a home where he is not left alone for a full workday. He does best with routine, reassurance, and regular human presence. Because of his sensitivity, Tavis is not a good candidate for dog parks or unstructured group play. He prefers calm, controlled interactions and thoughtful introductions. A fenced yard is strongly preferred, and apartment living or very busy households may be challenging for him. Tavis is most comfortable in quieter environments where he can relax and feel secure. Tavis is seeking a patient, understanding home that will allow him to settle in at his own pace. In the right environment, he will be a loyal and deeply rewarding companion. *Tavis Eligible for a Trial Contract! Adoption Fee: $595

Story
Age: 7 years old Weight: 40 lbs. Dog friendly: Yes Cat friendly: unknown but likely fine Kid friendly: calmer & older kids ok Potty trained: yes Crate trained: no Patch is a sweet senior Cocker Spaniel who may have had a rough start in life, but he’s more than ready to spend his golden years exactly where he belongs — cuddled up on a cozy couch next to his favorite person. This handsome boy loves a good routine. His ideal morning? A quick potty break in the yard followed by a short walk to sniff the world and maybe chase a few leaves (one of his favorite hobbies!). Patch is living in a home for the very first time, and he’s doing an amazing job learning the ropes. He hasn’t had accidents and thrives on a consistent schedule. He’s still figuring out how to tell his people when he needs to go out, but with structure, he does great. Patch absolutely loves toys and enrichment activities — they make his little heart so happy! Because of that, he can be a bit protective of his treasures. He would do best in a home with older children or adults who understand how to respect his toys and personal space. Patch is a sensitive, anxious soul who bonds deeply with his people. He would thrive in a home with another calm dog companion or with someone who is home most of the time and can offer him the companionship he craves. He can be left alone for short periods, and with patience, he may be able to build up to longer stretches over time. This snuggle bug loves bedtime as much as playtime — he sleeps with his foster in bed, or sometimes in his dog bed right next to the human bed if he gets warm. He is not crate trained and shows signs of past trauma or strong discomfort with crates. One is always available for him if needed, but he prefers to sleep and relax freely. When he’s excited, Patch wiggles his whole butt and does the cutest little happy dance just for you. He loves pets, attention, and being close — truly happiest right next to his person on the couch. Patch is curious about car rides and new adventures. He’s still a little nervous in the car but is excited about the idea of exploring new places with someone he trusts. Adoption fee: $595
