Story
meet adorable and adoptable: Lillee! This blue-eyed beauty is 6 years old and is absolutely cuckoo coco puffs about balls. Her favorite thing in the world is chasing balls and her talent is catching them in her mouth! She's good at catching treats treats too! When she isn't chasing balls, Lillee likes to spend her day on her chew toys and getting in plenty of naps. She takes her food and chew toys very seriously and prefers not to share them with other dogs. Because of this, she would do best in a home who can keep her separate from other dogs when she has food or toys (most other times she's great with other dogs, just a bit of a resource guarder). She can be shy when meeting new people but warms up immediately with pets and a ball. When new people come into her space, she gets very vocal and will sing the song of her people. For that reason, a home without shared walls would be best for her. We're not sure how she would do with cats but she gets along great with other dogs, great in the car and is house-trained. Her groomers said she did very good at being handled.Overall, Lillee is such a lovable floof with so much charm packed into one little wiggly body. She would be a great addition to any home.If you are interested in adoption, you have to have an approved application from us on file. Story
Hey, it's me, Snooper! Are you my human? I REALLY love riding in the car and my people. I promise to patrol your yard and keep all the critters at bay. I can be your partner for playing fetch and for a good walk. When it's time for cuddles, I'll paw your hand to make sure I get a pet or two in while I snooze next to you on the couch. These are some of my best photos, before I had to have one of my eyes removed, now I'm a winker! I've been in foster care for over 2 years and would love to find my furever to spend my remaining years with.Interested in adoption? Please read the following: we have an application process, which can be found on our website at www.austincockerrescue.org. We do not adopt outside the state of Texas. You must have an approved application to set up a meeting with a dog--this is done at the foster's discretion. If you have questions regarding the adoption process or a specific dog, please email us at woof@austincockerrescue.org. Phone calls about specific dogs will not be answered, as email is our preferred method of communication. Thank you for your interest!

Story
meet Little Boy Blu (“Blu”) — an 11mth old heartstopper who's got as much personality as looks. Blu is sweet, affectionate, clingy in the most hilarious way, and absolutely convinced he is lap-sized despite evidence to the contrary.Blu LOVES people. He is generous with kisses, happiest curled up next to you, and firmly believes personal space is overrated. Showering? Using the bathroom? Trying to exist alone for five minutes? Not on Blu’s watch. The door between you and the shower is simply an unnecessary obstacle. He would love to sleep in bed with you, but if that’s not allowed, he’ll happily settle for sleeping nearby with one eye on his favorite human at all times. He gets along well with other dogs and enjoys playing, though he can get a little overenthusiastic and forget his manners when he’s having fun. He’s still very much a puppy — energetic, goofy, curious, and occasionally a bit too much in the way only young dogs can be.Blu is completely housetrained and eager to be part of an active home that understands what raising a young dog really means. He needs adopters who are physically able to handle a strong, energetic puppy and committed to continuing his training. Puppy classes would be wonderful for him — not just for learning skills, but for building the bond he craves with his people.Because Blu can be vocal and active, he is not a fit for apartments, condos, or homes with shared walls. He also needs a securely fenced yard where he can burn off energy and enjoy being the busy little supervisor he was born to be.Blu is looking for people who don’t expect perfection from a puppy, but instead appreciate the joy, chaos, laughter, and deep companionship that come with helping one grow into an amazing adult dog. In return, he promises endless affection, constant company, and a loyal shadow for life.If you are interested in adoption, you have to have an approved application from us on file. Story
Leif. If you know anything about CSRA, you know that we ADORE a pre-sugared face! We believe that a dog deserves a great home, regardless of their age, when they find themselves looking for one. And pssst, here's a secret: older dogs often make AMAZING companions. At 10, Leif has gotten over that whippersnapper stage and is well-settled into being happy to just hang out--he's not overly affectionate, but he wants to know where you are so he can find a dog bed close by. He does great with other older, low-key dogs. And best of all, you can see this goofy grin every morning.Interested in adoption? Story
It's adorable & adoptable: Trapper! Trapper is a gorgeous boy waiting to be someone’s best sidekick. He is around a year and a half old and VERY energetic--and he is good-sized too!-- not too small and not too large, weighing in at around 32 lbs. Trapper is a permanent winker: he’s only got one eye, but he doesn't miss a thing! There aren’t enough toys or squeaky balls in the world for him, but he makes do with every one he can find in your house. Trapper walks well on a leash and has free reign of the house when his fosters are away. He likes to sleep in bed with his fosters and is great about not crowding them and is also happy to sleep on the floor next to the bed. He knows how to use a dog door and uses it all day long to hunt lizards and make sure the squirrels and deer are kept out of the yard. He will chase a ball as long as you throw it, and RIP to your arm muscles because you will need to throw it A LOT to burn off all of that well stored energy. He has a very loud bark that he uses to let strangers know he is watching, so a home with a backyard would be the best home for him. He is a sweetheart who loves affection but insists on a warming up period first as he is still learning to trust people. Trapper would do best with an experienced dog owner in an active home where he gets lots exercise, walks and stimulation. He knows how to sit and wait for his meals and treats. He is good with children after being slowly introduced and is great with cats.Interested in adoption?
