Story
Hey, it's me, Snooper! Are you my human? I REALLY love riding in the car and my people. I promise to patrol your yard and keep all the critters at bay. I can be your partner for playing fetch and for a good walk. When it's time for cuddles, I'll paw your hand to make sure I get a pet or two in while I snooze next to you on the couch. These are some of my best photos, before I had to have one of my eyes removed, now I'm a winker! I've been in foster care for over 2 years and would love to find my furever to spend my remaining years with.Interested in adoption? Please read the following: we have an application process, which can be found on our website at www.austincockerrescue.org. We do not adopt outside the state of Texas. You must have an approved application to set up a meeting with a dog--this is done at the foster's discretion. If you have questions regarding the adoption process or a specific dog, please email us at woof@austincockerrescue.org. Phone calls about specific dogs will not be answered, as email is our preferred method of communication. Thank you for your interest!

Leif. If you know anything about CSRA, you know that we ADORE a pre-sugared face! We believe that a dog deserves a great home, regardless of their age, when they find themselves looking for one. And pssst, here's a secret: older dogs often make AMAZING companions. At 10, Leif has gotten over that whippersnapper stage and is well-settled into being happy to just hang out--he's not overly affectionate, but he wants to know where you are so he can find a dog bed close by. He does great with other older, low-key dogs. And best of all, you can see this goofy grin every morning.Interested in adoption? Story
It's adorable & adoptable: Trapper! Trapper is a gorgeous boy waiting to be someone’s best sidekick. He is around a year and a half old and VERY energetic--and he is good-sized too!-- not too small and not too large, weighing in at around 32 lbs. Trapper is a permanent winker: he’s only got one eye, but he doesn't miss a thing! There aren’t enough toys or squeaky balls in the world for him, but he makes do with every one he can find in your house. Trapper walks well on a leash and has free reign of the house when his fosters are away. He likes to sleep in bed with his fosters and is great about not crowding them and is also happy to sleep on the floor next to the bed. He knows how to use a dog door and uses it all day long to hunt lizards and make sure the squirrels and deer are kept out of the yard. He will chase a ball as long as you throw it, and RIP to your arm muscles because you will need to throw it A LOT to burn off all of that well stored energy. He has a very loud bark that he uses to let strangers know he is watching, so a home with a backyard would be the best home for him. He is a sweetheart who loves affection but insists on a warming up period first as he is still learning to trust people. Trapper would do best with an experienced dog owner in an active home where he gets lots exercise, walks and stimulation. He knows how to sit and wait for his meals and treats. He is good with children after being slowly introduced and is great with cats.Interested in adoption? Our adoptions require an approved application which you can find on our austincockerrescue.org website. Already approved applicants can email us at woof@austincockerrescue.org to express their interest. We adopt to within the state of Texas and do not ship or transport dogs.

Story
Diego is a fun-loving 2 year old who loves chasing balls, other dogs and grabbing the nearest thing around him when excited and parading it around gently. When he's not playing, he loves belly rubs and snuggles but can also give you space. The best of both worlds! He's also house-trained and very tolerant of being physically handled which is handy when you have to brush out those ears! He loves the idea of a good adventure, but car rides makes him a little anxious. He is full of charm and cuteness. His ideal home would have other playful dogs and older children. With some leash-training, he would also be the best outdoor companion. We're not sure how he would do with cats but he's the type of dog that keeps you entertained because he is a silly little dude! Story
Tofu is a major cutie—a sweet, cuddly 1.5 year-old Cockapoo with a heart full of love and a tongue that’s almost always sticking out (seriously… it’s part of his signature look!). This affectionate little guy lives for kisses, snuggles, and being close to his people. If you’re looking for a best friend who wants to be wherever you are, Tofu is your guy.Tofu has a playful puppy spirit and still gets the zoomies like a champ! While he does have some hip and back leg issues that we’re still learning more about, it doesn’t stop him from running, playing, and enjoying life. It’s believed these traits may be inherited. Regardless, Tofu doesn’t let it slow him down and continues to be an active, happy pup.Because he’s still a puppy, Tofu can get a little mouthy when he’s extra excited, but he’s made great progress learning to redirect that energy to his beloved chew toys (which he absolutely loves). For this reason he may need to be in a home with full grown children. He’s also very fond of his toy box… though he’s still trying to understand why throw pillows aren’t considered toys. 😉Tofu is crate trained and does well settling in his kennel. He has come a long way with his potty training and continues to improve, especially with a consistent routine—he may just need a little extra patience and guidance to get fully there. He loves being outside, especially lounging in the grass and soaking up the fresh air. At the end of the day, Tofu’s favorite place is anywhere he can curl up with his human. He truly just wants to be loved and part of a family. With his sweet personality, adorable bleep tongue, and endless affection, Tofu is ready to steal hearts and become someone’s perfect companion.Interested in Adoption?
