Story
Hey, it's me, Snooper! Are you my human? I REALLY love riding in the car and my people. I promise to patrol your yard and keep all the critters at bay. I can be your partner for playing fetch and for a good walk. When it's time for cuddles, I'll paw your hand to make sure I get a pet or two in while I snooze next to you on the couch. These are some of my best photos, before I had to have one of my eyes removed, now I'm a winker! I've been in foster care for over 2 years and would love to find my furever to spend my remaining years with.Interested in adoption? Please read the following: we have an application process, which can be found on our website at www.austincockerrescue.org. We do not adopt outside the state of Texas. You must have an approved application to set up a meeting with a dog--this is done at the foster's discretion. If you have questions regarding the adoption process or a specific dog, please email us at woof@austincockerrescue.org. Phone calls about specific dogs will not be answered, as email is our preferred method of communication. Thank you for your interest!

Story
living with Rudy IS an adventure. Not only is he a total goofball, he's like what would happen if a monkey got ahold of too many energy drinks. But imagine the joy of living a life like Rudy's where everything in the world is a toy (until foster mommy takes it away). His only mood is Happy. He loves everything and everyone. Does he ever just.. chill out? Look, Rudy is only about a year old, he's got a long life ahead of him (as long as he stays out of medicine cabinets) and we are sure that at some point in his future, he will slow down. Today? is probably not that day. That being said, he will happily hang out with you, just laying at your feet. He would just like to be gnawing on a chewie while he does that. Keeping him busy and engaged is the key--he thrives with attention and exercise and he is learning SO much. It helps that he's super food motivated and it takes him only about a minute to pick up a new trick. Rudy would thrive in an active home who would appreciate his incredibly playful spirit. Interested in Adoption? Our adoptions require an approved application, which can be found on our website. If you have an already approved application, the best way to reach us is via email at woof@austinocckerrescue.org. We accept applicants who live within the State of Texas — we do not ship or transport dogs.

Story
Leif. If you know anything about CSRA, you know that we ADORE a pre-sugared face! We believe that a dog deserves a great home, regardless of their age, when they find themselves looking for one. And pssst, here's a secret: older dogs often make AMAZING companions. At 10, Leif has gotten over that whippersnapper stage and is well-settled into being happy to just hang out--he's not overly affectionate, but he wants to know where you are so he can find a dog bed close by. He does great with other older, low-key dogs. And best of all, you can see this goofy grin every morning.Interested in adoption? Our adoptions require an approved application, which you can find on http://www.austincockerrescue.org/adoption-application/Applicants with an already approved application can email us at woof@austincockerrescue.org

Story
It's adorable & adoptable: Klinger. We're not sure that the limits of modern photography accurately portray just how gorgeous this guy is. When Klinger walks into a room, a choir of angels pops up outta nowhere and every single head turns asking, "WHO IS THAT??" You'd think that all that adoration would go to his head, but nope, Klinger is just as sweet natured as he is beautiful. He's two years old so it goes without saying that he's a very energetic boy. He love love LOVES toys and gets a kick out of throwing them up in the air and shaking them like crazy. True to his name he is a bit of a velcro boy--he will sleep as close to you as you will allow and will spring up to be with you as soon as you rise out of bed. He loves playing in the yard and chasing squirrels, thinks car rides are great fun and gets along great with other dogs. Literally his only downside is that he likes to try and steal your clothes when you're getting dressed. (maybe he just wants to try on pants?). He is just a joy to have around. If you're not already in love at first sight, you will be in the first hour, guaranteed. Klinger is heartworm positive (boooo) and will be treated at CSRA expense at one of our vets. Interested in Adoption? Our adoptions require an approved application, which can be found on our website. If you have an already approved application, the best way to reach us is via email at woof@austinocckerrescue.org--not through comments or messenger, or phone. 🙂 We accept applicants who live within the State of Texas — we do not ship or transport dogs.

Nikki is a sweetheart with the softest eyes and an even softer heart. This lovable girl is all about cuddles, companionship, and being close to her people. If you’re looking for a best friend who will happily snuggle up beside you, Nikki is your girl. She has a low-key energy level and enjoys nice, relaxed walks followed by cozy downtime. Nikki is wonderful with kids and does well with small dogs, though she prefers to skip the big-dog crowd. One of her most adorable traits? She loves to “talk” to you in her own special dog language! She’ll happily chat about her day and make sure you always know how she’s feeling. Nikki also enjoys dressing up and looks absolutely precious in her outfits — she truly knows how to work her wardrobe. This little girl is very petite--only about 18lbs. She on some medications to help with her sensitive tum which we are happy to discuss with potential adopters. Nikki is incredibly lovable, affectionate, and ready to find a forever family who will cherish her sweet spirit. We think she's pawfect. Interested in Adoption? Story
Hooty is a pint sized Cocker mix. When we first met her we all thought she was a small puppy but the vet has aged her at aaround 1.5 -2 years old. She's working very hard to put on necessary weight since food likely hadn't been in large supply in her previous life, and boy does she love that! Because she's so eager to grab that treat and get every last bite, she hasn't quite mastered a "soft mouth" yet (that means, watch your fingers when dispensing treats!). She eats separately from other dogs and from a slow bowl to keep her from inspecting every dish in the house for a tasty leftover crumb. Who can blame her, right? Girl's gotta eat!We know she's not a BABY baby, but she still has the puppy desire to steal socks, slippers and the occasional ear bud for total destruction. Luckily she makes up for it in cuddles. Hooty is one of those dogs where a tidy toy box is never going to work. When toys are put away she will proceed to take back out every single one of them and play with it like she's never seen it before. It's like Christmas every day! Besides the mouthy destructive puppy side of her. We have to say that the only negative trait she has is her seemingly pathologic need to be underfoot. Literally, one her favorite things to do when excited is try and chew on your shoes... WHILE YOU"RE WEARING THEM. while wearing them., and being so small shes a constant trip hazard. Her future pawrents need to be very steady on their feet! We know that the young female pups are verrrrry popular, so please read the following: If you are interested in adopting, you have to have an approved application on file with us. Our application is located on our website. If you already have an approved application and are interested in Hooty--EMAIL us at woof@austincockerrescue.org. This is the preferred method of communication--FB messages, comments or phone calls will not get seen or responded to as quickly. We adopt to within the state of Texas.
