Dante is an affectionate and engaging who clearly enjoys spending time with his people. On a recent day trip, Dante showed himself to be a great adventure companion. He loaded into the car easily, rode well, and enthusiastically kicked things off with plenty of kisses. During a long walk in the country, Dante was very curious about the world around him. He took in new sights with interest, including a close encounter with a herd of cows. Like many dogs, he can become a bit vocal and excited when faced with unfamiliar animals or passing dogs, but he was responsive and easy to redirect. Dante would do best with an experienced handler who can provide structure, consistency, and continued guidance. Due to his tendency to become overstimulated in certain situations, he may not be the best fit for a home with small children. We are rehoming Lou due to his prey drive as he has killed a chicken and continues to focused on them, so he will need a home that can safely manage this behavior and does not have small livestock or free-roaming small animals. Kaiyu was a stray found on the street 5 years ago. He was found to have been shot with a BB gun and still has a couple of BB pellets in him that are not safe to remove. He is very easy to train as he is highly food motivated. He knows most commands and is crate and potty trained. He is always excited to meet people and does well with other dogs. He was found to have an ear polyp in his right ear that is not bothering him and was recently diagnosed with a salivary sialocele that has been managed with steroids. He is an amazing dog that also just likes to lounge around with you all day.

Blue is a 4 year old neutered male cattle dog mix with one blue eye and one brown! He is very sweet with people and dogs once he warms up to them. He has not been observed around young children. He is very interested in cats but can live with them if supervised. He loves being pet and playing with toys. He is medium energy: he is happy to play in the yard and lay on the couch. He is potty trained but can have accidents. Blue came from a neglectful environment where he was kept outdoors 24/7 with no interaction and limited resources. Adopted as a puppy through HFP back in 2020, Indigo is looking for a quiet, calm adult home as your one and only! ✅ no separation anxiety ✅ housetrained, crate trained ✅ wonderful base of basic training ✅ smart & trainable ✅ cutest submissive grin/wiggle butt when you come home ✅ moderate activity (relaxed inside but loves to fetch and play!) ✅ doing much better at car travel He was adopted as a 4 month old puppy through HFP but sadly returned 3 years later -- he is currently in a Sacramento Foster home but is really in need of a home of his very own as his foster cannot keep him forever. More about Isco: he has a great base of training and ready to impress you with all his cues, including: Sit, Wait/Stay, Bed, Crate, Down and Off. He walks well on leash and doesn’t pull a ton. He LOVES to sniff everything during his walkies aka Sniffaris ( but doesn’t stop to mark, only sniff). He would do best in a quieter neighborhood as very busy places can make him nervous. Moderate energy -- he loves playing fetch in the backyard and a long daily walk would be ideal for Isco. In the home he is relaxed and independent. He has lived with 2 small dogs in the past and may be able to make dog acquaintances with slow intros but does not have a ton of experience with other dogs at this time. He would do best as prince of the palace as a solo dog in the home. Indigo previously lived with a cat who he loved to play with but can chase other cats, he may do well in a home with a well-matched cat friends; we ALWAYS recommend slow intros into the home/early separation for cats/dogs as they get to know one another. Indigo has the CUTEST prance and loves to play fetch. He is treat motivated which makes continued training and intros to people much more of a breeze. Housetrained, Crate Trained, around 55 lbs. Neutered, Vaccinated, Vetted, ready to be yours! Indigo adoption donation is sponsored. You might be wondering what “sponsored” means. A dog is sponsored when their foster or a donor loves them so much that they cover the adoption donation for a future adopter. This in hopes that the pup finds his or her forever family ASAP!
