Story
Dante is a STUNNING Border Collie/Shepherd mix. Need we say more? Yes, because being handsome isn't everything…so read on…(and check out his pictures below).Poor guy showed up as a 35-lb. stray, all skin and bones. He has since gained 30 lbs., developed confidence, and has shown a loyal heart. His name means `enduring and steadfast` in Italian, and it could not be more fitting. His prior life behind him, he is now eager and ready to work and learn at every training session and will sprint back to you the moment you call his name – RECALL IS HIS SUPERPOWER.Over several day trips with volunteers, he has gone from being under-socialized and nervous to an affectionate, engaging pup who clearly enjoys spending time with his people. He understands things quickly and gets more relaxed with each day trip. He loads into the car easily, rides well, and kicks things off with enthusiasm and plenty of kisses. He walks well on a leash, has gone swimming in questionable trail water, conquered sliding store doors and scary stores, and figured out that checking back in with his person is always the right move. He has shown himself to be dog-friendly and very playful. This beautiful boy will thrive with someone who will keep up his training, give him structure, consistency, and continued guidance, and maybe share an In-N-Out burger with him on road trips. In return, Dante will be a loyal, enduring, steadfast companion who will give you absolutely everything he's got. Schedule an appointment to meet Dante at yoloshelter.org/dogs or email adopt@yoloshelter.org . May 30, 2026, 4:43 am

Courtesy Listing – Lou Name: Lou Age: 7 months Sex: Neutered male Lou is a young, friendly pup looking for the right home through a courtesy listing. We are thinking he is probably a border collie/terrier mix. He is vaccinated, crate trained, and potty trained, and he does well with other dogs and is kid friendly. We are rehoming Lou due to his prey drive as he has killed a chicken and continues to focused on them, so he will need a home that can safely manage this behavior and does not have small livestock or free-roaming small animals. He currently has no medical concerns. ***Please note: Lou is not located at the shelter and is not under the shelter’s care. This is a courtesy post to help his owner find a suitable placement. All inquiries will be directed to the owner.*** Contact: Lauren laurenblack721@gmail.com If you’re interested in Lou and believe your home may be a good fit, please reach out directly to the owner using the contact information above.  March 7, 2026, 9:32 am

Story
Courtesy post for rehoming. Patti or Patti Melt and Patti Cake asa her foster lights to call her is a loyal and affectionate beauty. Her favorite activities are catching the ball playing frisbee and snuggling up on the couch with her person. She is food motivated and will do almost anything for treats her stunningly, beautiful ice blue eyes are real showstopper. She is a petite girl at about 45 pounds. She is making progress on leash and is eager to please. She would make an excellent running partner or would simply love to be with her person wherever as long as she is by their side. Patti can be left alone, but needs to feel secure in the area that she is left. She does not like to be in a secluded small space. It takes her a while to warm up to new people so she will require some patience with that. She also enjoys playing with other dogs, but needs close monitoring as she doesn’t have all of the proper social skills yet. She would likely do well with another doggy sibling as long as intros are properly done. Her unwavering and fierce loyalty are her greatest attributes. Whoever adopts Patti will have constant affection and never feel lonely. If you’re interested in meeting Patti please contact her foster mom Anne via phone or text @ (925)699-0841

Story
Shep is a 10 year old and 112 pound dog who is looking for his forever home. He`s an absolute love who enjoys leaning into you for brushing and rolling over for belly rubs. If you`re looking for a chill dog who`s friends with everyone he meets, then look no further!Shep has gone on FURlough and is reportedly the sweetest boy you will ever meet! He loved interacting with children and other dogs when out on a walk and loved to sunbathe while relaxing at the park. Despite his size he is excellent in the car (just needs some help in and out)!My adoption fee is sponsored by an A`s fan and in loving memory of Buckner.Shep is blind, but that doesn`t stop him from loving life! He loves to go on sniffy walks, but needs an attentive walker who will help him get some much needed excercise without bumping into obstacles.I have no known history with other dogs, I may do well with proper and slow introductions to respectful dogs.I have no known history with cats, I may do well with proper introductions and supervision.I have no known history with children, but may do well with respectful children.

These pups are in Davis, California too!

Story
Blue is a 4 year old neutered male cattle dog mix with one blue eye and one brown! He is very sweet with people, cats and dogs. He has not been observed around young children. He loves being pet and playing with toys. He is medium energy: he is happy to play fetch or lay on the couch. He is potty trained. His favorite activity is playing fetch at the dog park or going on walks. Blue came from a neglectful environment where he was kept outdoors 24/7 with no interaction and limited resources. You would never guess his past, though, as he is extraordinarily sweet, happy, and outgoing.

Story
To apply or learn more about Isco, go to: https://www.heartsforpawsrescue.com/219873/2023/11/2/isco Indigo is a 4 yr neutered cattle dog whippet mix (best guess) in need of a special home! Adopted as a puppy through HFP back in 2020, Indigo is looking for a quiet, calm adult home as your one and only! ✅ no separation anxiety ✅ housetrained, crate trained ✅ wonderful base of basic training ✅ smart & trainable ✅ cutest submissive grin/wiggle butt when you come home ✅ moderate activity (relaxed inside but loves to fetch and play!) ✅ doing much better at car travel He was adopted as a 4 month old puppy through HFP but sadly returned 3 years later -- he is currently in a Sacramento Foster home but is really in need of a home of his very own as his foster cannot keep him forever. More about Isco: he has a great base of training and ready to impress you with all his cues, including: Sit, Wait/Stay, Bed, Crate, Down and Off. He walks well on leash and doesn’t pull a ton. He LOVES to sniff everything during his walkies aka Sniffaris ( but doesn’t stop to mark, only sniff). He would do best in a quieter neighborhood as very busy places can make him nervous. Moderate energy -- he loves playing fetch in the backyard and a long daily walk would be ideal for Isco. In the home he is relaxed and independent. He has lived with 2 small dogs in the past and may be able to make dog acquaintances with slow intros but does not have a ton of experience with other dogs at this time. He would do best as prince of the palace as a solo dog in the home. Indigo previously lived with a cat who he loved to play with but can chase other cats, he may do well in a home with a well-matched cat friends; we ALWAYS recommend slow intros into the home/early separation for cats/dogs as they get to know one another. Indigo has the CUTEST prance and loves to play fetch. He is treat motivated which makes continued training and intros to people much more of a breeze. Housetrained, Crate Trained, around 55 lbs. Neutered, Vaccinated, Vetted, ready to be yours! Indigo adoption donation is sponsored. You might be wondering what “sponsored” means. A dog is sponsored when their foster or a donor loves them so much that they cover the adoption donation for a future adopter. This in hopes that the pup finds his or her forever family ASAP!

Story
Loyal, affectionate, and smart - Sienna is the complete package! Sienna is estimated to be around a year old, and she is a darling girl with a big heart and a gentle soul. It's pretty impossible not to fall in love with her as she knows just the way to win your heart with her big brown puppy-dog eyes. She is a big fan of cuddles and will happily make herself comfy with you on the couch for a movie night or an afternoon nap. Sienna weighs about 41lbs, but is underweight and should probably weigh closer to 45lbs. Sienna came to us after she found herself on the euthanasia list at no fault of her own at a Central California animal shelter. She was a young mom of 7 puppies, and she needed our help! We were able to save Sienna and all of her babies, who have been growing up in foster homes and will be available for adoption soon. Her work as a mom is done, and now it's her turn to be the spoiled baby. Sienna's foster parents only have great things to say about this sweet girl. She quickly made herself at home in foster care and has shown herself to be a well-mannered pup who loves making new friends and keeping her foster parents company, no matter what the day brings. She has done great being out and about in public and seems like she would be a wonderful companion for someone who wants a dog to take to dog-friendly breweries and restaurants. She is a moderate-energy gal who enjoys her daily walks and could be a great sidekick if you enjoy the outdoors. Sienna is a very smart girl who is eager to learn, especially if a tasty treat is involved. She has been doing great with her basic manners training and is an ideal fit for someone who wants a dog past the crazy puppy phase. Sienna has shown to be interested in making dog friends and could do well with a dog buddy after a proper introduction. Sienna has been doing well living with dog-savvy cats after a slow introduction. Sienna seems like she could be a wonderful addition to a family with kids 7 years and older. Sienna is housetrained. She is not a big fan of being crated, but is happy to sleep through the night on her dog bed in the bedroom. Sienna doesn't like being left alone and needs a family that won't have to leave her often or for long. Sienna has been doing well living in an apartment with proper exercise. Sienna is such an amazing dog, and she is going to bring so much love and happiness to a very lucky family. If you think that might be you, submit an application today!   Sienna's adoption fee is $300.   Apply to adopt here!  https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/   Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption. For more information about an animal, please email dogs@yolospca.org. For more general questions, please see our website at www.yolospca.org. May 29, 2026, 8:15 pm
