Luna was a great mom to her puppies who have all been adopted. Now it is her turn! Luna can be shy with new people and animals, but she warms up with patience and gentleness. She is not recommended to be with small children because she can have herding tendencies with them.

Story
Dante is a STUNNING Border Collie/Shepherd mix. Need we say more? Yes, because being handsome isn't everything…so read on…(and check out his pictures below).Poor guy showed up as a 35-lb. stray, all skin and bones. He has since gained 30 lbs., developed confidence, and has shown a loyal heart. His name means `enduring and steadfast` in Italian, and it could not be more fitting. His prior life behind him, he is now eager and ready to work and learn at every training session and will sprint back to you the moment you call his name – RECALL IS HIS SUPERPOWER.Over several day trips with volunteers, he has gone from being under-socialized and nervous to an affectionate, engaging pup who clearly enjoys spending time with his people. He understands things quickly and gets more relaxed with each day trip. He loads into the car easily, rides well, and kicks things off with enthusiasm and plenty of kisses. He walks well on a leash, has gone swimming in questionable trail water, conquered sliding store doors and scary stores, and figured out that checking back in with his person is always the right move. He has shown himself to be dog-friendly and very playful. This beautiful boy will thrive with someone who will keep up his training, give him structure, consistency, and continued guidance, and maybe share an In-N-Out burger with him on road trips. In return, Dante will be a loyal, enduring, steadfast companion who will give you absolutely everything he's got. Schedule an appointment to meet Dante at yoloshelter.org/dogs or email adopt@yoloshelter.org . June 20, 2026, 2:40 am

Story
Roy needs a new home to no fault of his own. Roy is a very lovable 11 year old dog who just wants to be everyone’s best friend. He is a little nervous when meeting new dogs but once he is properly introduced to a calm and non reactive dog he can live with another dog. He gets along best with dogs that are smaller than him and calm. Roy loves being around children because he loves to run and play with them but he does not do well cats because he tries to chase them. He is happy to be lazy with you during the day and go on long walks in the morning and evening. Even with his age he is very strong and likes to jog and play fetch. Roy is crate trained but has been sleeping out of the crate for many years without any accident or chewing/destruction. He is extremely food motivated and knows a few commands. He loves treat puzzles and chew treats. When you’re at work or school he will lay on the sofa and wait to greet you when you get home

Story
Koda was adopted from a farm and he was a runt- he his now 69 lbs but it took 3+ years to get him to quit resource guarding. He is busy, loves to fetch a stick or ball or frisbee, LOVES to be with his person, gets scared with thunder will still lunge for the garbage truck. He is BUSY but mostly like a toddler that likes to tag along with you where ever you are. We are looking for a new home for Koda for 4 main reasons: 1. He gets randomly aggressive (threatening moves/lunge/ body language) toward husband and adult daughter if "mom" is around. Mom is his person and number one resource2. He doesnt sit still when he is out so we can't have him out if we just want to relax. 3. He cannot get shots at the vet unless he is sedated $$$4. He hs been kicked out of 4 different boarding places for being scary/ aggressive (no vacations for us) Koda is super smart and loves to fetch sticks in the river. He does walks with me daily, loves trips to petco and any length drive in the car. xoxoxo

Story
If you love herding dogs and are looking for a velcro dog, Molly is your girl! This sweetheart is absolutely dedicated to her human. Molly will attempt to hug you every second of every minute she is with you. Trying to pick something up off the floor? Nope, you're getting smothered in kisses. Want to go to the bathroom by yourself? Uh un, no you may not shut that door without this sleek little shadow zipping in faster than lightning. Molly was brought to the shelter as a stray, and her coat and behaviors show she was out on a grand adventure for a bit. Now that she is clean and groomed, this black beauty is a cuddle bug who easily redirects from inspecting the trash. Molly needs slow introductions to other dogs and does well with submissive dogs. She does very well with redirection and distraction when she starts to get antsy around other dogs. Really, these behaviors are insecurity of her environment, but she has learned to adapt to pack life quite easily. Her herding instincts are very strong and she loves to play with the herding ball and direct the other dogs in games of chase. Molly has not been tested with cats, but she would likely chase them. She is a little nervous when loose in the car, but rides very well in her kennel. She likes to bark at grey trucks in particular. Molly is approximately 2 years old, is spayed, and is UTD on her vaccinations. She will need an active family who can give her the exercise and mental stimulation this girl needs to thrive!

Story
** Courtesy Posting: this dog is not in our care, we are just helping him find a home ** Yeti is a 3 year old purebred Blue Heeler. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and in good health. This poor boy’s story is very sad. An older woman bought him as a young puppy for her ailing husband who loved heelers. Her husband sadly passed away, and now she is being moved to hospice and Yeti needs a good home ASAP. Because of his circumstances, poor Yeti spends most of his time alone in a dog run or a crate. So he is still learning how to play and be a dog. Despite this, Yeti is friendly and affectionate. He just needs a patient, loving home to blossom into the confident dog we know he can be. He has not met cats yet. He was around other dogs as a puppy, but he has not been around them in years, so new dogs should be introduced slowly. Please contact us if you can help Yeti.

Story
To apply or learn more about Isco, go to: https://www.heartsforpawsrescue.com/219873/2023/11/2/isco Indigo is a 4 yr neutered cattle dog whippet mix (best guess) in need of a special home! Adopted as a puppy through HFP back in 2020, Indigo is looking for a quiet, calm adult home as your one and only! ✅ no separation anxiety ✅ housetrained, crate trained ✅ wonderful base of basic training ✅ smart & trainable ✅ cutest submissive grin/wiggle butt when you come home ✅ moderate activity (relaxed inside but loves to fetch and play!) ✅ doing much better at car travel He was adopted as a 4 month old puppy through HFP but sadly returned 3 years later -- he is currently in a Sacramento Foster home but is really in need of a home of his very own as his foster cannot keep him forever. More about Isco: he has a great base of training and ready to impress you with all his cues, including: Sit, Wait/Stay, Bed, Crate, Down and Off. He walks well on leash and doesn’t pull a ton. He LOVES to sniff everything during his walkies aka Sniffaris ( but doesn’t stop to mark, only sniff). He would do best in a quieter neighborhood as very busy places can make him nervous. Moderate energy -- he loves playing fetch in the backyard and a long daily walk would be ideal for Isco. In the home he is relaxed and independent. He has lived with 2 small dogs in the past and may be able to make dog acquaintances with slow intros but does not have a ton of experience with other dogs at this time. He would do best as prince of the palace as a solo dog in the home. Indigo previously lived with a cat who he loved to play with but can chase other cats, he may do well in a home with a well-matched cat friends; we ALWAYS recommend slow intros into the home/early separation for cats/dogs as they get to know one another. Indigo has the CUTEST prance and loves to play fetch. He is treat motivated which makes continued training and intros to people much more of a breeze. Housetrained, Crate Trained, around 55 lbs. Neutered, Vaccinated, Vetted, ready to be yours! Indigo adoption donation is sponsored. You might be wondering what “sponsored” means. A dog is sponsored when their foster or a donor loves them so much that they cover the adoption donation for a future adopter. This in hopes that the pup finds his or her forever family ASAP!

Story
Lassen is a loving girl who is the life of the party! Lassen is estimated to be around 3 months old and is a bubbly and playful little girl. She is an active girl who is always down for some fun. She loves adventure and making new friends along the way. Lassen currently weighs about 15lbs and we estimate she will be around 60lbs when fully grown. Lassen is part of our National Park Puppies. She and her siblings came into an overcrowded Central California animal shelter with their mom while they were still nursing. After a month under the shelter's care, they were at risk of euthanasia, simply due to a lack of space. We were so grateful to be able to save all the puppies and their mom (adoptable Sienna). They are all thriving in foster care and are looking for individual homes so that they can get the one-on-one training they need. Their mom looks to be an Australian shepherd/German shepherd mix and weighs about 45lbs. We don't know who their dad is, but we guess that he is a staffie mix based on what the puppies look like. Lassen is the loveable teddy bear of the group. She is equal parts adventurous and affectionate, and who can't wait to be your new sidekick for whatever the day brings. She would love a family that will take her on lots of adventures and keep her busy mind and body occupied with lots of fun games and playtime. Lassen is quick to win your heart with her goofy antics and big brown eyes. She is very food-motivated and smart, and would very much enjoy puppy classes to help her to continue to learn all of her basic manners. Lassen has done great living with other dogs, both big and small, and could do great with a playful dog sibling or as an only dog with lots of opportunities to socialize with other dogs. Lassen has been doing well living with dog-savvy kitties and older kids. She could be a wonderful family dog for a family with kids 7 years and older. Lassen is still working on her housetraining and will need a family committed to helping her learn. She has been doing well sleeping in a crate at night with one of her sisters and for short-periods during the day. She has never been completely alone, so she would need a family that can slowly acclimate her to being comfortable being home alone. Lassen is such a blast to be around, and she is going to make a very lucky family very happy. If you think that might be you, submit an application today!   Lassen's adoption fee is $400.   A pply to adopt here!  https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/   Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption. For more information about an animal, please email dogs@yolospca.org. For more general questions, please see our website at www.yolospca.org. June 19, 2026, 11:09 am
