Story
Blue is a 4 year old neutered male cattle dog mix with one blue eye and one brown! He is very sweet with people, cats and dogs. He has not been observed around young children. He loves being pet and playing with toys. He is medium energy: he is happy to play fetch or lay on the couch. He is potty trained. His favorite activity is playing fetch at the dog park or going on walks. Blue came from a neglectful environment where he was kept outdoors 24/7 with no interaction and limited resources. You would never guess his past, though, as he is extraordinarily sweet, happy, and outgoing.

To apply or learn more about Isco, go to: https://www.heartsforpawsrescue.com/219873/2023/11/2/isco Indigo is a 4 yr neutered cattle dog whippet mix (best guess) in need of a special home! Adopted as a puppy through HFP back in 2020, Indigo is looking for a quiet, calm adult home as your one and only! ✅ no separation anxiety ✅ housetrained, crate trained ✅ wonderful base of basic training ✅ smart & trainable ✅ cutest submissive grin/wiggle butt when you come home ✅ moderate activity (relaxed inside but loves to fetch and play!) ✅ doing much better at car travel He was adopted as a 4 month old puppy through HFP but sadly returned 3 years later -- he is currently in a Sacramento Foster home but is really in need of a home of his very own as his foster cannot keep him forever. More about Isco: he has a great base of training and ready to impress you with all his cues, including: Sit, Wait/Stay, Bed, Crate, Down and Off. He walks well on leash and doesn’t pull a ton. He LOVES to sniff everything during his walkies aka Sniffaris ( but doesn’t stop to mark, only sniff). He would do best in a quieter neighborhood as very busy places can make him nervous. Moderate energy -- he loves playing fetch in the backyard and a long daily walk would be ideal for Isco. In the home he is relaxed and independent. He has lived with 2 small dogs in the past and may be able to make dog acquaintances with slow intros but does not have a ton of experience with other dogs at this time. He would do best as prince of the palace as a solo dog in the home. Indigo previously lived with a cat who he loved to play with but can chase other cats, he may do well in a home with a well-matched cat friends; we ALWAYS recommend slow intros into the home/early separation for cats/dogs as they get to know one another. Indigo has the CUTEST prance and loves to play fetch. He is treat motivated which makes continued training and intros to people much more of a breeze. Housetrained, Crate Trained, around 55 lbs. Neutered, Vaccinated, Vetted, ready to be yours! Indigo adoption donation is sponsored. You might be wondering what “sponsored” means. A dog is sponsored when their foster or a donor loves them so much that they cover the adoption donation for a future adopter. This in hopes that the pup finds his or her forever family ASAP!

Story
Mina is a cute girl who is always down for some fun! Mina is estimated to be about 8 months old, and she is a smart and happy girl. She missed out on some socialization as a young puppy, so she is still learning about the world, but has blossomed in foster care and can't wait to meet her fur-ever family. Mina currently weighs about 25lbs, and we think that she is pretty much fully grown. Mina came to us from our partners, BONES Pet Rescue in Covelo. Mina and her sister (who has already been adopted) were found on a remote road, likely dumped by their previous owners. A friend of BONES found the puppies and brought them to the rescue. After some TLC, they were transferred to one of our foster homes. Mina is a curious and playful girl who likes to make new friends and romp around in the yard. She enjoys gentle pets and will even give you sweet kissies if you're lucky. She is still learning all the ropes of being a dog and needs a family who can be patient with her while she learns and gains confidence. One thing that really helps her feel comfortable is having dog friends. We are hoping she can be adopted by someone who has a confident dog for her to bond with and can help mentor her. Mina is going to be a great companion for someone who is committed to continuing her training and socialization. She is an active and smart girl who learns quickly, especially if yummy treats are involved. Mina has done great with dogs of all sizes, but can be a tad too playful for older dogs, so would do best with a dog who can keep up with her energetic personality. Mina has done well with dog-savvy cats after a slow introduction. Mina has done well with being around livestock and even an extra-large tortoise. She would be a great addition to a farm! Due to her shy personality, Mina would do best in a home with kids older than 10 years old. Mina has been doing well with her housetraining and sleeps through the night with her foster siblings in the garage.  She has been doing well being left alone in the secure, fully fenced backyard and is happy to keep herself amused out there during the work day. However, she does know how to climb fences, so she shouldn't be trusted in a yard alone until she has fully settled in and bonded with her new family. Mina is such a great little girl who has so much potential. If she sounds like the sidekick you have been looking for, head to our website, yolospca.org/adopt, to submit an application.   Mina's adoption fee is $350.   A pply to adopt here!  https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/   Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption. For more information about an animal, please email dogs@yolospca.org. Story
Loyal, affectionate, and smart - Sienna is the complete package! Sienna is estimated to be around a year old, and she is a darling girl with a big heart and a gentle soul. It's pretty impossible not to fall in love with her as she knows just the way to win your heart with her big brown puppy-dog eyes. She is a big fan of cuddles and will happily make herself comfy with you on the couch for a movie night or an afternoon nap. Sienna weighs about 41lbs, but is underweight and should probably weigh closer to 45lbs. Sienna came to us after she found herself on the euthanasia list at no fault of her own at a Central California animal shelter. She was a young mom of 7 puppies, and she needed our help! We were able to save Sienna and all of her babies, who have been growing up in foster homes and will be available for adoption soon. Her work as a mom is done, and now it's her turn to be the spoiled baby. Sienna's foster parents only have great things to say about this sweet girl. She quickly made herself at home in foster care and has shown herself to be a well-mannered pup who loves making new friends and keeping her foster parents company, no matter what the day brings. She has done great being out and about in public and seems like she would be a wonderful companion for someone who wants a dog to take to dog-friendly breweries and restaurants. She is a moderate-energy gal who enjoys her daily walks and could be a great sidekick if you enjoy the outdoors. Sienna is a very smart girl who is eager to learn, especially if a tasty treat is involved. She has been doing great with her basic manners training and is an ideal fit for someone who wants a dog past the crazy puppy phase. Sienna has shown to be interested in making dog friends and could do well with a dog buddy after a proper introduction. Sienna has been doing well living with dog-savvy cats after a slow introduction. Sienna seems like she could be a wonderful addition to a family with kids 7 years and older. Sienna is housetrained. She is not a big fan of being crated, but is happy to sleep through the night on her dog bed in the bedroom. Sienna doesn't like being left alone and needs a family that won't have to leave her often or for long. Sienna has been doing well living in an apartment with proper exercise. Sienna is such an amazing dog, and she is going to bring so much love and happiness to a very lucky family. If you think that might be you, submit an application today!   Sienna's adoption fee is $300.   Apply to adopt here!  https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/   Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. Story
Watch out, world - here comes Sequoia! Sequoia is estimated to be around 3 months old and is a playful and affectionate little girl. She is an active girl who is always down for some fun. She loves adventure and making new friends along the way. Sequoia currently weighs about 7-8lbs and we estimate she will be around 40-50lbs when fully grown. Sequoia is part of our National Park Puppies. She and her siblings came into an overcrowded Central California animal shelter with their mom while they were still nursing. After a month under the shelter's care, they were at risk of euthanasia, simply due to a lack of space. We were so grateful to be able to save all the puppies and their mom (adoptable Sienna). They are all thriving in foster care and are looking for individual homes so that they can get the one-on-one training they need. Their mom looks to be an Australian shepherd/German shepherd mix and weighs about 45lbs. We don't know who their dad is, but we guess that he is a staffie mix based on what the puppies look like. Sequoia is the active athlete of the group. She definitely seems to have inherited more of her mom's herding breed traits rather than her dad's staffie couch potato genes. She is a confident and curious girl who can't wait to be your new sidekick for whatever the day brings. She would love a family that will take her on lots of adventures and keep her busy mind and body occupied with lots of fun games and playtime. Sequoia is a stealer of shoelaces and the first to initiate a wrestling match among her siblings. She is very food-motivated and smart, and would very much enjoy puppy classes to help her to continue to learn all of her basic manners. Sequoia has done great living with other dogs, both big and small, and could do great with a playful dog sibling or as an only dog with lots of opportunities to socialize with other dogs. Sequoia has been doing well living with dog-savvy kitties and older kids. She could be a wonderful family dog for a family with kids 7 years and older. Sequoia is still working on her housetraining and will need a family committed to helping her learn. She has been doing well sleeping in a crate at night with two of her siblings and for short-periods during the day. She has never been completely alone, so she would need a family that can slowly acclimate her to being comfortable being home alone. Sequoia is such a fun puppy, and she is going to make a very lucky family very happy. If you think that might be you, submit an application today!   Sequioa's adoption fee is $400.   A pply to adopt here!  https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/   Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. Haleakalā is a loving girl who is eager to be your new best friend! Haleakalā, or Hale for short, is estimated to be around 3 months old and is the sweetest little lady. She is the type of puppy who will happily make herself comfy in your lap and cover your face in kisses. She is a true lovebug who adores making new friends and spending time with her foster family.
