Story
Introducing Pokey Puppy!!! Pokey's estimated dob is May 2023.  He came to us in poor condition from one of the Central Valley shelters so had little hope of making it out.  Pokey has had good care and good groceries and has flourished.  He appears to be a short stack Cattle Dog mix given his coloration and some of his behaviors.  Pokey is still shy with new people and to some extent other dogs so patience will be needed for his transition.  Once he is comfortable, he is happy and playful.  Pokey has been learning about the wide world and walks the neighborhood everyday.  He will continue to need exposure and reassurance for outings as he matures,  along with solid training.  Pokey is currently 23-24 lbs and will most like be between 30-40 lbs at maturity.  He is a strong and active player so another sturdy playful pup would be good.  Pokey  sleeps in his crate at night.  He has also mastered the dog door.  And he is pretty much potty trained. Pokey's wishlist: 1.  Fenced yard 2.  Daily walks and activity 3.  No young children.  Older respectful children  4.  Continued training  5.  Patience and leadership 6.  A compatible playmate Please email right away if you would like to learn more about this dog......and visit our website www.siarescuers.org to learn more about our rescue group. Adoption fees range from $350-$475 for dogs. THE DOGS SHOWN ON THE SITE ARE IN FOSTERCARE - WE DO NOT HAVE A SHELTER TO VISIT. EMAIL is the best way to reach us. We are a volunteer run, very small organization - so please be patient when waiting for a response, but feel free to check back in if you haven't heard from us in a day or so - thank you so much for considering a rescued pooch!

Story
Melody came to us 2 yrs ago extremely shy. Her fostermom has worked diligently with her and we feel she is ready to look for her perfect home. She will likely regress in the transition and will need a patient home to work with her through this period. Here are her "must-haves": * Adult only home * Herding breed experienced * Patient and willing to work though transition period and continue additional training/socialization * Ability to meet several times prior to adoption (local adopter preferred) * Large yard * Preferred social, stable dog as a companion. Melody doesn't interact much with the other dogs, but a stable companion will help in her transition and training. Melody is a pretty little cattle dog mix. She was born around May 2021 and is about 30 lbs. Melody is smart, playful, loyal and sweet once she is comfortable with someone. Melody loves to play ball and is learning to play frisbee. She enjoys the pond at her foster home and will swim and chase a ball in the water. She will follow her people around the yard hoping someone will toss a ball or toy for her. She seems to enjoy the company of other dogs but has not engaged in a lot play with the dogs in her foster home and she would rather play with her ball. Melody becomes attached to a favorite person and will happily follow her person around the house and yard most of the day. She likes to lay on the couch and rest her head on her person’s legs in the evening. Melody can be shy/timid when meeting new people but has shown she can warm up with slow, patient introductions. It may take her a bit of time to adjust in a new home but she is worth the effort. She did not have a good start in life and was not accustomed to human contact and affection. She has progressed so much and enjoys her people and thrives on the attention/affection she receives from them. Melody currently lives on 3 acres where she can run, play fetch, swim and explore. Her ideal home would be on fenced acreage or have a large enough yard to play fetch in. She is looking for a person who is herding dog experienced and who has the time, patience and willingness to give this shy girl a chance at a forever home. Melody is housebroken in her foster home, crate trained and walks nicely on a leash. Children would likely overwhelm her so she requires an adult only home. She currently lives with dog savvy cats and is respectful with them. She lives with dogs of various sizes and ages and does well with them but does not enjoy dogs who continually pester her or get in her face to lick her. She has engaged well with young male dogs who don’t try to bully her. Melody is a sweet, enjoyable dog who is a joy to foster. She is patiently waiting for her forever home. Please email right away if you would like to learn more about this dog......and visit our website www.siarescuers.org to learn more about our rescue group. Baron is a sweet, timid but alert dog. He gets along well with our other dog and cat however is timid and prefers to stay away from stranger’s dogs. He needs a little time to trust you and once he does, will attempt to sit in your lap and lick you nonstop. He loves the outdoors and needs space to run and herd.

Story
Lilly is an energetic and playful dog that will be 1 year in September. She's an adorable pit/Aussie cattle dog mix as far as we can tell. We adopted her somewhat recently then found out we're expecting and don't have capacity for a baby and young dog at the same time. Lilly is smart and has learned quickly. She's crate and house trained, and is working on leash skills. We're also training sit, down, stay, and wait. She will sit and wait for a release word before eating. She gets along well with our older dog, but would not do well in a home with cats or small kids. We're not sure what happened in Lilly's past before we got her, but she is fearful and sometimes reactive, particularly with men. For this reason we hope to find and adopter who has some experience with dogs. Once Lilly does trust you, she's happy to snuggle up on the couch or flop over for belly rubs. We really wish we could keep her, but the timing didn't work out so we're hoping to find her a good home.

Story
THIS IS A COURTESY POST. Please contact Shannon at 209-481-3155 or email at Eddiesmk15@gmail.com to set up a meet and greet for Sammie who is being fostered in Ripon. Here’s what you need to know about this sweet pup: This pretty face belongs to Sammie! She is likely an Australian Cattle Dog/German Shepherd/Border Collie who will be medium size when full grown. She was born in July 2024. She was found as a stray on the side of the road and a Good Samaritan took her in. Now she is ready for her forever home. This pretty gal is very smart. She already knows sit, down, stay, leave it, and off. (All a work in progress). She is also crate trained, potty trained, and leash trained! Sammie is shy meeting new people, but when she warms up, she's very friendly. She can be more nervous with men but we are working on that with a male trainer and she is already improving! Sammie is also good with kids but best for kids 6+ due to her high energy and herding breed. She would love a rough and tumble kid to play with! Sammie loves other dogs and wants to be their friend and play. We have a small dog that she badly wants to play with, but she has too much energy for the small dog. She plays hard with her brother and another big dog. We don't know how Sammie is with cats. She sees them on walks and ignores them. Sammie is learning to be a good travel pal. She is good on a leash and doing well learning to ride in our truck. She will need time to adjust to her new home’s noises. Sammie is a very sweet sweet girl! She wants to please! She loves to follow us around, be hugged on, and get loves. She is high energy and a fun puppy. She is very smart and learns quickly. She is slow to warm up to people but when she does, she will love you to the moon and back!! We have watched her progress a long way and blossom into a beautiful girl! Someone patient will be rewarded with this girl's absolute love! Sammie is spayed, current on all vaccines, and microchipped. She is in Ripon, CA
