Story
Forest is a sweet little medium to high energy Chihuahua and Border Collie mix. He was born around 9/1/2024 and currently weighs 20 lbs. His DNA test came back with 15 breeds and Chihuahua/Border Collie were the highest %'s. Forest is playful, loyal and smart. He likes the company of other friendly dogs and likes playing chase and wrestling with them. He is beginning to enjoy balls and toys and will occasionally play with them. He Iikes chewing on bully sticks and other chew toys and bones. He loves going for walks, hiking and will swim sometimes. In the evenings he enjoys couch time with his humans. He desires to be a large part of his family’s life and likes being included in daily activities. Forest can be shy when meeting new people but has shown he will warm up with slow, calm introductions. He has a tendency to be somewhat timid but his confidence has grown quite a bit in his foster home. Once he is comfortable in a home he is a happy, delightful, playful and cuddly boy. He has a preference for women but does warm up to men in time. Forest is crate trained, walks politely on a leash and is house broken in his foster home. He currently lives with friendly dogs of various sizes and gets a long well with them. He also lives with dog savvy cats but will challenge shy kitties and chase if they run. Children would likely overwhelm him so only dog savvy, respectful kids over 12 are recommended. He would not do well being left home alone daily for long hours. He enjoys a yard and is an alert barker so no apartments for him. Forest would do well in an active home with a confident, playful dog companion to help boost his confidence, help show him the ropes and keep him company while his humans are away from home. He would not do well with an overly dominant dog who bullies him. A person who has the time, patience and willingness to work with a shy dog would be ideal. Forest is a sweet, playful dog who is a joy to foster. He is patiently waiting for his forever home. Please email right away if you would like to learn more about this dog......and visit our website www.siarescuers.org to learn more about our rescue group. Adoption fees range from $350-$475 for dogs. THE DOGS SHOWN ON THE SITE ARE IN FOSTERCARE - WE DO NOT HAVE A SHELTER TO VISIT. EMAIL is the best way to reach us. We are a volunteer run, very small organization - so please be patient when waiting for a response, but feel free to check back in if you haven't heard from us in a day or so - thank you so much for considering a rescued pooch!

Story
Meet Russell Russell is an absolute sweetheart with a calm, loving personality and wonderful house manners. He enjoys playing with the other dogs each morning and evening, and during the workday he’s perfectly content to relax quietly at your feet. On days when his foster works in the office, Russell settles comfortably in his crate for a full workday and does very well. He is fully housebroken and sleeps peacefully either in his crate or cuddled up on the bed. Russell especially loves curling up beside you at night and will happily snuggle close—sometimes climbing on top of you in the morning when he’s ready to start the day. Russell is neutral and appropriate with other dogs. He shows curiosity toward cats and squirrels, but he is responsive to redirection and continues to improve his focus on walks. He walks nicely on a loose leash and responds well to gentle guidance that helps set a calm tone at the start of the walk. This confident (but not pushy) boy has lovely manners around the home. He sits quietly at the door, waits to be invited inside by name, and is learning to maintain his doorway boundaries even when visitors arrive. He may give a brief alert bark if someone approaches the fence or rings the doorbell, but he is otherwise quiet and relaxed indoors. Russell already understands sit, down, and stay with hand signals and is beginning to learn verbal cues. He is a smart, eager dog who will continue to blossom with consistency and love. Overall, Russell is a gentle, affectionate companion who would thrive in a home looking for a loyal cuddle buddy with great potential and a sweet heart Interested in adopting? Buddy is a 3 year old male border collie/black labrador mix. Buddy was abused in his first home and then abandoned with WAR but under WARs care and attention, he has learned that not all humans hurt. He is listed as special needs because he is not good with children and would be best suited in a family without children and in a home where he has space to boogie! If you are interested in adopting Buddy, please visit the Wilton Animal Rescue and complete an adoption application,https://wiltonanimalrescue.com/adoption-application/ ##2372286##

Story
If you love herding dogs and are looking for a velcro dog, Molly is your girl! This sweetheart is absolutely dedicated to her human. Molly will attempt to hug you every second of every minute she is with you. Trying to pick something up off the floor? Nope, you're getting smothered in kisses. Want to go to the bathroom by yourself? Uh un, no you may not shut that door without this sleek little shadow zipping in faster than lightning. Molly was brought to the shelter as a stray, and her coat and behaviors show she was out on a grand adventure for a bit. Now that she is clean and groomed, this black beauty is a cuddle bug who easily redirects from inspecting the trash. Molly needs slow introductions to other dogs and does well with submissive dogs. She does very well with redirection and distraction when she starts to get antsy around other dogs. Really, these behaviors are insecurity of her environment, but she has learned to adapt to pack life quite easily. Her herding instincts are very strong and she loves to play with the herding ball and direct the other dogs in games of chase. Molly has not been tested with cats, but she would likely chase them. She is a little nervous when loose in the car, but rides very well in her kennel. She likes to bark at grey trucks in particular. Molly is approximately 2 years old, is spayed, and is UTD on her vaccinations. She will need an active family who can give her the exercise and mental stimulation this girl needs to thrive!

Story
Kaiyu was a stray found on the street 5 years ago. He was found to have been shot with a BB gun and still has a couple of BB pellets in him that are not safe to remove. He is very easy to train as he is highly food motivated. He knows most commands and is crate and potty trained. He is always excited to meet people and does well with other dogs. He was found to have an ear polyp in his right ear that is not bothering him and was recently diagnosed with a salivary sialocele that has been managed with steroids. He is an amazing dog that also just likes to lounge around with you all day.
