Story
Forest is a sweet little medium to high energy Chihuahua and Border Collie mix. He was born around 9/1/2024 and currently weighs 20 lbs. His DNA test came back with 15 breeds and Chihuahua/Border Collie were the highest %'s. Forest is playful, loyal and smart. He likes the company of other friendly dogs and likes playing chase and wrestling with them. He is beginning to enjoy balls and toys and will occasionally play with them. He Iikes chewing on bully sticks and other chew toys and bones. He loves going for walks, hiking and will swim sometimes. In the evenings he enjoys couch time with his humans. He desires to be a large part of his family’s life and likes being included in daily activities. Forest can be shy when meeting new people but has shown he will warm up with slow, calm introductions. He has a tendency to be somewhat timid but his confidence has grown quite a bit in his foster home. Once he is comfortable in a home he is a happy, delightful, playful and cuddly boy. He has a preference for women but does warm up to men in time. Forest is crate trained, walks politely on a leash and is house broken in his foster home. He currently lives with friendly dogs of various sizes and gets a long well with them. He also lives with dog savvy cats but will challenge shy kitties and chase if they run. Children would likely overwhelm him so only dog savvy, respectful kids over 12 are recommended. He would not do well being left home alone daily for long hours. He enjoys a yard and is an alert barker so no apartments for him. Forest would do well in an active home with a confident, playful dog companion to help boost his confidence, help show him the ropes and keep him company while his humans are away from home. He would not do well with an overly dominant dog who bullies him. A person who has the time, patience and willingness to work with a shy dog would be ideal. Forest is a sweet, playful dog who is a joy to foster. He is patiently waiting for his forever home. Please email right away if you would like to learn more about this dog......and visit our website www.siarescuers.org to learn more about our rescue group. Adoption fees range from $350-$475 for dogs. THE DOGS SHOWN ON THE SITE ARE IN FOSTERCARE - WE DO NOT HAVE A SHELTER TO VISIT. EMAIL is the best way to reach us. We are a volunteer run, very small organization - so please be patient when waiting for a response, but feel free to check back in if you haven't heard from us in a day or so - thank you so much for considering a rescued pooch!

Story
Meet Russell Russell is an absolute sweetheart with a calm, loving personality and wonderful house manners. He enjoys playing with the other dogs each morning and evening, and during the workday he’s perfectly content to relax quietly at your feet. On days when his foster works in the office, Russell settles comfortably in his crate for a full workday and does very well. He is fully housebroken and sleeps peacefully either in his crate or cuddled up on the bed. Russell especially loves curling up beside you at night and will happily snuggle close—sometimes climbing on top of you in the morning when he’s ready to start the day. Russell is neutral and appropriate with other dogs. He shows curiosity toward cats and squirrels, but he is responsive to redirection and continues to improve his focus on walks. He walks nicely on a loose leash and responds well to gentle guidance that helps set a calm tone at the start of the walk. This confident (but not pushy) boy has lovely manners around the home. He sits quietly at the door, waits to be invited inside by name, and is learning to maintain his doorway boundaries even when visitors arrive. He may give a brief alert bark if someone approaches the fence or rings the doorbell, but he is otherwise quiet and relaxed indoors. Russell already understands sit, down, and stay with hand signals and is beginning to learn verbal cues. He is a smart, eager dog who will continue to blossom with consistency and love. Overall, Russell is a gentle, affectionate companion who would thrive in a home looking for a loyal cuddle buddy with great potential and a sweet heart Interested in adopting? Story
Shep is a 10 year old and 112 pound dog who is looking for his forever home. He`s an absolute love who enjoys leaning into you for brushing and rolling over for belly rubs. If you`re looking for a chill dog who`s friends with everyone he meets, then look no further! My adoption fee is sponsored by an A`s fan and in loving memory of Buckner.Shep is blind, but that doesn`t stop him from loving life! He loves to go on sniffy walks, but needs an attentive walker who will help him get some much needed excercise without bumping into obstacles.I have no known history with other dogs, I may do well with proper and slow introductions to respectful dogs.I have no known history with cats, I may do well with proper introductions and supervision.I have no known history with children, but may do well with respectful children.

Story
Courtesy post for rehoming. Patti or Patti Melt and Patti Cake asa her foster lights to call her is a loyal and affectionate beauty. Her favorite activities are catching the ball playing frisbee and snuggling up on the couch with her person. She is food motivated and will do almost anything for treats her stunningly, beautiful ice blue eyes are real showstopper. She is a petite girl at about 45 pounds. She is making progress on leash and is eager to please. She would make an excellent running partner or would simply love to be with her person wherever as long as she is by their side. Patti can be left alone, but needs to feel secure in the area that she is left. She does not like to be in a secluded small space. It takes her a while to warm up to new people so she will require some patience with that. She also enjoys playing with other dogs, but needs close monitoring as she doesn’t have all of the proper social skills yet. She would likely do well with another doggy sibling as long as intros are properly done. Her unwavering and fierce loyalty are her greatest attributes. Whoever adopts Patti will have constant affection and never feel lonely. If you’re interested in meeting Patti please contact her foster mom Anne via phone or text @ (925)699-0841

Story
Fava is a sweet and playful young boy who is full of personality and charm. He is a friendly but sensitive pup who may take a moment to feel comfortable, but once he gets acquainted, his fun and loving true self really shines through. Fava loves to play and has a silly side, especially when it comes to shredding stuffed toys and chasing tennis balls. He brings lots of energy and excitement to everything he does and would love a home where he can run, play, and enjoy all the fun that comes with being a young dog. Fava is the shy sort who would do best with a calm and supportive family who can help put him at ease, so we recommend that any children in his new home are age 10 or older so they can understand his needs. Fava told us that he is not a fan of small dogs or cats, so he is required to go to a home without them. If there is another large dog in the home, an introduction at the shelter will be required to see if Fava and his new friend will be a good match. Fava is looking for a loving home that will embrace his playful spirit and help guide him as he grows. In return, he will bring fun, laughter, and plenty of happy moments to your days!Adoption Price: $200

Story
Needs the Right Home) Foxy is a sweet, affectionate 2-year-old Border Collie who has been raised on a ranch her entire life. She is incredibly loving, people-oriented, and does very well with kids and other dogs in normal settings. She has a gentle, friendly personality and forms strong bonds with her people. Foxy thrives outdoors and is used to having space to run. She would do best in a home with land, an active lifestyle, or someone experienced with working/high-drive dogs. She has not been an indoor dog, so she would need patience if transitioning into a home environment. It’s important to note that Foxy is not safe with livestock. When in a group setting with other dogs, she has engaged in chasing and killing goats. Because of this, she must go to a home without livestock or small animals, or with an experienced handler who understands how to manage this behavior. This has been an incredibly difficult decision for our family—we’ve had Foxy since she was a baby.
