Name: Citra Sex: Female Estimated Age: 6 years old Best Guess for Breed: Border Collie Mix Weight: 59lbs Lives With: Citra is currently living with two adults in an apartment environment. Housetrained? Citra is housebroken and crate trained. She also knows all of her basic commands. About Citra: Citra is an adorable 4 year old border collie mix who is incredibly smart and loves to learn new tricks. Fun facts: she knows over 15 commands and is working on several more, she’s a mozzarella cheese aficionado and butt scratches are her favorite! She also loves sunbathing - she can go for hours without moving from a sunny spot! Please read more about her below! CITRA’S PERFECT MATCH: PERFECT FAMILY: A home with 1-2 adults is ideal. Citra needs crate time when guests come over, but can warm up with a slow introduction and some treats. Because she is shy, we are recommending she not go to a home with small children. She can be quite scared of other dogs and cats, and would do best as the only dog in the home. However, she has been working her hardest with us to overcome her fears, and has shown lots of progress recently! PERFECT HOME: One with a fenced in yard away from the bustling city. EXERCISE NEEDS: Citra enjoys long walks on the leash and rolling in the grass belly side up at the park. She could play fetch and tug all day long with her humans! However, she is also very content to lounge around the house. She is such a playful pup and would love to learn new games and activities! She loves untangling a towel to get to her food, and that tires her out just as much as a walk! She should not be taken to dog parks. BEHAVIOR IN HOME: Citra is a sweetheart. She loves to play with her humans and then take naps on the couch or in her crate. She is slowly but surely learning how to interact with new humans, but it takes a lot of treats and patience to gain her trust. Once she gets comfortable, she would love nothing more but to snuggle up with you all night long. She is quiet and comfortable in her crate, knows the “place” command, and does not have accidents in the home. CRATE: Citra loves her crate, she will sleep and relax there during the day and while her humans are not at home. She also sleeps in there all night long! Color Match: ORANGE - Goofball (Socially Motivated) Dog Personality — Will work for what they want, but are not as committed to pursuing their own agenda; these are considered moderate-persistence dogs. Adopter Personality — Interested in doing some training and can provide regular interaction and activity. The fee to adopt Citra is $475. That covers the cost of all her vaccines, the collar she’s wearing, her transport to DC and her care in her foster home. She’s up to date on all age appropriate vaccines and already spayed. Citra has been seen by a shelter vet and we are not aware of any health issues. If you think that Citra might be your perfect match, apply today!February 28, 2025, 10:22 pm

Name: Henry Sex: Male Estimated Age: About 4 months old (as of 6/15/25) Best Guess for Breed: Collie Mix Weight: About 20 lbs (as of 6/15/25) Lives With: Dogs, cats and people! Housebroken? He’s working on his potty training and making great progress! Story: Henry was rescued from a shelter in South Carolina with two of his littermates. We are so happy to have him safe and sound in a foster home in the DC area now. Henry is a happy sweetie who loves people and gets along great with other dogs and puppies. He knows just how to get comfortable up on the couch with his humans, and will love to join you on walks and trots around the neighborhood. Henry is just looking for someone to be his new best furend and we know that he will repay them with endless amounts of love and tail wags. Like all dogs, Henry will need an adopter who is committed to setting him up for success by enrolling in obedience training and exercising him both mentally and physically. He will also need love, patience, and socialization in order to thrive! What my foster says: Henry is a super sweet collie/hound mix.  He is great with the kids and very well behaved.  He is even getting along well with our 2 cats.  He is good in the crate for 2-3 hours at a time.  He still needs frequent potty breaks outside to continue to encourage good bathroom behaviors, but he’s making great progress.  He can be a little nervous around lots of new people, but once he warms up to you he’ll be your best friend! He’s young and super trainable and will make a great addition to any family! The fee to adopt Henry is $475. That covers the cost of all his vaccines, the collar he’s wearing, his transport to DC and his care in his foster home. He’s up to date on all age appropriate vaccines. She is a young and sweet South Carolina girl on the hunt for her forever home. Once she gets to know you, Apple is very affectionate! You will have a true and loyal friend in Apple. Apple can be a bit dog selective as she is fearful of some dogs. She would do well as the only dog in a home or with a male dog that is not dominant. Apple loves being outside and playing! Apple has a lot of unconditional love and loyalty to give. She's just waiting for that special someone who will be hers forever. Could that person be you? Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.    Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.       Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/ or email our Foster Coordinator at foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSPONSOR ME! Help Save Lives!    Make a tax-deductible donation today and help save a life. Story
Female, 1 year old, 36 lbs Personality: snuggler, shy, quiet, eager-to-please, affectionate, gentle, goofy/funny, smart, and timid/fearful. Zetta is a cuddly girl who loves to be right by her people, either snuggling or napping at your feet. She also delights in slow walks around the neighborhood, frequently stopping to sniff about. Zetta embodies the concept of stopping to smell the roses! Zetta is still learning that she is safe when home alone, and would do best with people who are retired or work from home. Zetta strives to be a good girl: she has figured out house training, isn't bothered by other dogs, and responds to her name. Gentle Zetta could be a great buddy for someone in search of a dog to while away the days with, whether it's laying on the grass at the park, ambling about on leisurely walks, or just hanging at home. Could you be Zetta's safe space? Apply today to meet her! Check out @capitolhillfosterpups on Instagram to learn more! ___________________________________________________________________ If you are interested in meeting a dog or cat, we require an adoption application. If the animal has "HAS APPLICATION" listed, they are still available to receive additional applications but also may be in the process of being adopted soon. Apply for a DOG: http://www.citydogsrescuedc.org/adoptable-dogs.html Interested in saving more lives? Foster a dog today! Learn more, see our list of dogs needing foster, and apply, https://www.citydogsrescuedc.org/foster-a-city-dog.html City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is a foster-based rescue in Washington, DC. We do not have a shelter. CDCK has a thorough adoption process to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats (we do not operate under a first-come, first-served model). Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter for dogs six months and older. We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam before adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDCK. City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us. Dog specific: Rabies, DHPP, Lepto and Bordetella vaccines. They are tested for HW, Lyme, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis. Most cats and dogs will have a house-training accident in the initial days in their new home and we cannot guarantee any pet is housebroken or crate trained.

Story
Amber sure lives up to her name where the color of amber imbues, warmth, positivity and wisdom. Would you see when you first meet this beautiful, young girl is an 18 month, 60 pound Collie mix that loves to receive affection as well as nd she has so much to give back. This girl just want to be right by your side and enjoy the people round her.  She was found by some local residents in a very small, rural community but soon realized that no one was looking for this very good girl. Critter cavalry rescue volunteers readily took her in and quickly found out how smart she is.  As she is learning to walk on a leash, we also have learned that due to being astray and wandering on her own for a while. She is developed a bit of a clingy personality that will need a little bit of work and reassurance. Amber loves to play with her stuffed bunny who seems to be her BFF and she also likes to be brushed. She's a sweetheart with other dogs, but we haven't had a chance to cat. Test her and can, if that is a trait that you desire her to be good at.  Critter Cavalry Rescue is offering this girl as a special companion to a family or individuals who just want a good dog.   Please email at ccrnewengland@gmail.com  PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJune 10, 2025, 12:27 am

Bean is really the most awesome family dog, loves kids and other dogs. Born 3/1/25, weighs about 50lbs at present- likely her adult size at present. Dad full breed border collie, Mom American lab. Fully house trained since about 6 months old, also crate trained. Well behaved but does have high energy, loves running off lease/dog parks. Easy to train follow commands: Sit, down, up, come, and go. Treat motivated, loves to play frisbee or with tennis balls. Also does well with prompting on agility courses. Loves care rides-sticks her head out of the window :). Great swimmer and likes showers (hates getting nails trimmed). Spayed at 8 months old, no known health issues I will need to rehome Bean as I changed jobs and my new schedule will not allow me to properly care for her.

APPLICATION LINK: https://shaynesrescue.com/adoption-application-pet-central-satx/ We must have an application to move forward. (Shayne's Rescue is an affiliate with PetCentralSATX). If there are problems with the website, please email me for help. This litter is 100% vetted...so don't think of it as paying for a dog...think of it as a FREE dog but you're paying for all medical without the hassle of transporting back and forth and all the time to do the special care from 3 days old in order to adopt a beautiful, healthy puppy. GAMBLER…male, Shepherd/Heeler mix, GARNET…female, Heeler Mix GORDO…male, Shepherd/Heeler mix GRACIE…female, Shepherd/Heeler mix GREMLIN…male, Heeler/Shepherd mix GUNNER…male, Maybe Heeler/Lab mix GYPSY…female, Shepherd/Lab mix This litter of pups came to us at 3 days old…from the San Antonio ACS. DOB 3/1/25. By rescuing the mother dog and the litter it kept them from being put down. Mama is an Australian Cattle dog… a Blue Heeler. Even though she is a Blue Heeler none of her pups looked like her. A couple show signs of speckled feet but they must have had a handsome Shepherd daddy. When we generalize with "Shepherd" we don't mean German Shepherd...just a "shepherd" of the herding class. These are happy and playful pups that will probably grow to 35-50#s with the girls typically being smaller. There is a picture of the entire litter. YouTube Video: https://youtu.be/Hfi5A_6SKYw I do have a couple of phone videos I could send. Text me your phone # and tell me which pup(s) you want to see. 210-394-6060 This dog is CURRENTLY IN TEXAS and available for pre-adoption. Adoptions include neuter/spay, vaccinations (DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies), microchip, health certificate, transport with our professional dog transporter, and 6 mos of heart worm prevention. You can also go to our Facebook page... https://www.facebook.com/Pet-Central-SATX-866684826744181/ and LIKE us to help us out. If you experience any issues filling out the application you can contact us directly at petcentralsatx@gmail.com. This is ONLY if you have problems applying. If you have not applied, you will not receive a response so please only email if you have any issues applying. Adoption Fees The adoption fee includes transportation to the NE. All pups and dogs are fully vetted, spayed/neutered, microchipped, dewormed, have a negative heart worm test for all dogs over 6 months at time of transport, have a health certificate, and have all age-appropriate vaccinations. Some dogs/pups have additional medical, including but not limited to FHO, ACL, hernias, dental, and other vetting. All medical records will be provided to the adopter at the time they pick up their dog. This is a post on behalf of Pet Central SATX Rescue, headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, where there are over 350,000 homeless pets. We have hundreds of puppies/dogs available so there really is no need to apply anywhere else. Also, one application is good even if you are interested in several different dogs...one application no matter which one you choose. Thank you for choosing to adopt a rescue pup/dog. We firmly believe there is NO breed other than "rescue" for all species. Thank you for being part of the village it takes to save these precious lives.
